  • 2 Thumbs Up

"Rental was equipped with snorkel gear & beach chairs & beach towels which we utilized to snorkel @ Kahalu"u Beach[just 4 miles South of rental] to view sea turtles & tropical fish. The Lanai is right on the beach which was very enjoyable. The Royal Kona is just a 5 minute walk north of the condo. We partook of their luau & lunch @ beachside restaurant. In fact many restaurants easily walkable from the condo[20 minutes]. The pool & jacuzzi were top notch @ the condo. We enjoyed the washer/dryer @ the condo. Nice to return home with clean clothes. I would definitely rent again if I return to the Big Island. The condo complex is very quiet @ nite; conducive to a good night sleep."

  • Beautiful home with an okay view

"The house is beautiful and very clean. It is so much nicer than the pictures show. The only bad thing is that there is quiet time from 8 pm-8 am. Just sitting on the lanai having our coffee at 6:30 am our first morning got us a note on the front door about neighbor complaints! We are in our mid 50's and are not loud people. Imagine being in Hawaii and feeling like you have to be confined to the inside of the house during those quiet hours, or be very careful to be at a near whisper. There is no way children or teenagers would do well at this home, no matter how well behaved they are. Otherwise, the house was great. If quiet is very important to you, then this is the house for you."

  • Great find in the hills on the north side of Kailua-Kona

"The location was great, really nice for getting a feel for the local community. Also an excellent choice if you're budget-conscious. Not only are you effectively getting 3 bedrooms for the price of two, but being on the north side of Kailua is great for affordable shopping at Target (most food) and Coscto ($4.99 roast chicken and cheap gas), as well as lots of free beach access. The place has plenty of lovely outdoor areas: we spent mornings by the koi pond watching the birds, fish, and geckos, and evenings on the lanai watching the sunsets and the local fauna passing thru. It has a spacious feel and seems to have been designed with a lot of consideration for natural light and air flow, and the decor is homey without feeling cluttered. The facilities include wi-fi, board games, and guide books, along with water sports equipment downstairs. Very nice master suite, and a roomy downstairs area suitable for a group of four. Superior kitchen and dining facilities. The owner is personable and responsive, and there is even a very nice neighbor who delivers her own locally made desserts. Does it get better?"

  • Our Wedding & Honeymoon Getwaway

"This trip was very special to us, since we were coming to get married on Kuki'o Beach and to spend our Honeymoon in Kona after. When we thought about where to stay, we did a lot of research, and when we saw this condo, and read the reviews of how helpful and personable Holly was, we knew we found our place! When we arrived, Holly arranged for us to get the key, since it was late in the day. She had a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge for us, and the baking items set out, since I was planning to bake our own wedding cake. What a nice surprise!!! She really went out of her way to make the experience awesome, and we couldn't have asked for more. She was amazing to us and we were so appreciative. It was great being in a condo, versus a resort for many reasons, such as it was way less crowded, we had the pool to ourselves most days, and we had all the luxuries that you don't have at resorts such as a stocked kitchen, BBQ grills, beach chairs, a cooler, and a beach bag to go. It was perfect! When we first stepped onto the lanai and saw the view of the ocean, it took our breath away! We watched turtles and surfers and the most gorgeous sunsets ever. We spent a lot of time there relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the ocean. It was also awesome having the waves lull us to sleep each night, so peaceful! This was our first trip to Hawaii, and Holly made it so welcoming and stress-free for us. She really works hard to make the trip personal for us and to made us feel at home. Mahalo Holly!!! Our wedding and Honeymoon were absolutely perfect, and after all of our adventures such as the manta-ray night snorkel, our helicopter ride over the volcanoes, numerous trips to explore different beaches, sightseeing in Hilo, or just hanging out on the fun and touristy Ali'i Drive, we always were happy to head back to our home away from home! We enjoyed two fun-filled weeks, and wish we could have stayed longer! It was honestly hard to leave such a beautiful place that truly was paradise! The condo was spotless and decorated with fun Hawaiian touches, the grounds were beautifully kept, and we felt very safe with security making their rounds to make sure all was well. I know we were there just before the high season, and that too was perfect for us. It was quiet, relaxing, and a place we would love to return to. Mahalo Holly for all of your TLC...we were so happy to meet you and so thankful for all you did to make our trip one we will never ever forget! Mahalo!!!"
