"Like a kid at Christmas, I was so delighted from the moment we drove onto Dodge Point
and settled in to our cottage in Seal Cove. Well equipped and very comfortable, from the bed linens to the wide array of cookware. Had some cool evenings, was nice having a woodstove. never wanted to leave, and wandered all over the point, and enjoyed many sunsets from both the beach, the dock and our own deck. If you ever want to close your eyes and imagine a peaceful, beautiful spot...this will be it. And we will be back! Thank you so much for sharing this little piece of heaven!"

"We had three couples staying at the cabin for one week the second week of September. Our objective for the week was to bike and hike the Carriage Roads in Acadia. The location of our cabin was perfect. Easy to find, felt secluded but actually not far from the interesting town of Southwest Harbor. The house was well-equipped and cheerfully and comfortably appointed. Our week had just one morning of rain and the rest of the week was cool but sunny and perfect for hiking and riding the Carriage Roads. One of our group ran every morning along the picturesque Shore Road safely. The house was well-maintained and we would unhesitantly recommend the cabin to others."

"We had such a great time staying in this cozy cottage. The sunroom overlooking the water was my favorite place to sit. We saw seals playing and the fog rolling in at night. At high tide, you can hear the water from the master bedroom which just lulled us to sleep. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals if you want. Although there is not a washer and dryer, the kitchen sink is plenty big to rinse out a few items of clothes. Also, there is no wifi or TV which we thought was a bonus and we didn't miss either one at all! There is a radio so we listened to music. Cell service (Verizon) worked great! You can rent kayaks from a local company that will deliver right to the cabin (or bring your own) so we enjoyed the Western Bay waterfront access from the cabin. The cabin is located on a very quiet road and only 7 miles from the main entrance to Acadia National Park, 9 miles to Bar Harbor, and 10 miles to Ellsworth. We did not have any traffic to deal with. Lots of restaurants nearby and an IGA grocery that has everything else you might need. They even sell spirits and Maine's famous blueberry wine. Thank you Pat and Bob for sharing your cabin and we hope we can get to Maine again soon. There are many more hiking trails that we need to do."

"This cottage is in such a beautiful setting you almost hate to leave. And when you do you don't have to go very far. The causeway at the end of the semi-private lane lured us down there morning and evening every day to watch the tide flow in and out of Norwood Cove. The heart of Southwest Harbor with its restaurants and shops is an easy walk away. Beautiful Bass Harbor is just down the road.
As mentioned earlier, the house has everything you need from cooking gear to spices to laundry detergent and paper goods. It has good Wi-Fi and cable TV. It has nice towels and sheets and very good beds. The owner's book was full of great suggestions, and we took advantage of their ideas almost every day.
The Knollette is not a fancy place, but it is a very accommodating place. We loved it from the moment we first saw it. The four of us Acadia first-timers agree that Southwest Harbor and the Knollette is the place to be on Mount Desert. We will be back."
