  • The perfect place to unwind.

"The Little Seashell is a lovely escape for anyone who just wants to unwind and surround themselves with nature. From the eternal sound of the ocean to the delightful song of the Mockingbird in the pine tree out front, it is all a balm to the soul. The cottage itself was a pleasant surprise from the gas fireplace for the cool mornings to the wonderful enclosed front porch that looks over the dunes and ocean. Although we did some exploring of nearby towns a few mornings, we found ourselves anxious to get back to the cottage. Sue was available and helpful without being intrusive. We did not want to leave and we will definitely will be back."

  • Cottage Charm

"Our family fell in love with this cottage and its location. We can't wait for our return dream vacation at Camp Ellis next year. The cottage was charming, we were welcomed with a fresh arrangement of flowers on the kitchen table and a welcoming note from the owner. The location was superb to beach, marina, restaurants, shopping, activities, etc.."

  • Great house for a large family

"We enjoyed a 5-day stay at the home. Noah was great about being in contact, meeting up, and going over the house. The house was a great fit for our group, which ranged in age from 5 to nearly 80. It was comfortable, clean and fun. We did lots of cooking in the kitchen, and found it to be well-stocked and easy to work in. The only thing I would point out to potential renters is that the house is at a busy intersection and traffic can be very loud. There are a lot of motorcycles and emergency vehicles passing right by the house, day and night. It wasn't a big deal for us, but if you're a light sleeper, you might consider that."

  • great escape

"Our vacation would have been perfect if not for the fact my car broke down and cost me a bit to get it fixed. Otherwise the cottage was perfect plenty roomy, close to the beach and very peaceful. I had my 2 grandsons 6 and 8 their where numerous toys at the cottage to keep them busy, everything was on hand in case we forgot anything it was there, we did replace what we used though at the end of the trip. I can not elaborate enough as to how comfortable the cottage was ,the neighbors and the owner are very nice people. We hope to rent again next year, i have always gone to York but wanted something differant this year and i have to say i chose a great spot all of us talked about it when we got home as to how comfy and cozy the cottage was and how roomy so as no-one was on top of each other all had room to spread out. Thanks again we had a great time."

Saco Travel Tips

Saco Vacation Rentals are a Charming Getaway

The city of Saco, in York County Maine, is blessed with miles of white sandy beach and spectacular views of Saco Bay, including numerous sailboats and charming lighthouses. The beach is relatively uncrowded all season and is unspoiled by high rises. There is plenty of room for relaxing and, once in a while, a harbor seal may appear. You can take a walk along the seven miles of sandy beach, from Camp Ellis to Old Orchard Beach and ending at Pine Point in Scarborough. You can collect seashells, or even try your hand at building a sandcastle or two. Saco is a quaint vacation spot filled with friendly people. And because there are ample Saco vacation rentals, it is a perfect place to spend a holiday.

Saco Has Plenty of Attractions to Keep You Entertained

Your Saco lodging is just minutes away from local fishing docks, Saco River fishing, canoeing, and three great golf courses. You are also close to amenities such as Ferry Beach State Park and the Funtown Splashtown USA amusement park. If you are interested in some major shopping, then the Maine Mall is also only a few miles away, plus there is the new 16-screen cinema in Portland's acclaimed "Old Port area," which also includes many fine restaurants, shops, and some great weather.

Saco is a Wonderful Family-Oriented Vacation Destination

Because of Saco's friendliness and beauty, many families return year after year for vacations and have for generations. You can start this tradition with your family as many have done in the past. Look into Saco vacation rentals or even find a few Maine Southern Coast cottages to fulfill your ideal vacation plans. Spend time with your family in a quiet and rewarding vacation experience, surrounded by the natural beauty of the sand dunes, white beaches, and charm of Saco Bay.
