Awesome Guest House
"The Vineyard Haven Guest House was a wonderful get away spot for our "girls" weekend! The house was perfect, great kitchen and wonderful family room upstairs. Everything was clean and neat upon our arrival! The house is close enough to the cute shops, the ferry and the bus terminal in Vineyard Haven to leave the car at home!
David was a great help with his detailed "how to" for the house and the "things to see" section as well."

Confortable home for large family or several generations.
"We are a three generation family and rented this home because it offered an association pool and tennis court plus access to Lambert's Cove Beach. The weather was so perfect, we only used the beach access.
The pool and tennis court looked inviting but were about 1 mile form the home so required a car trip with toddler and 5 year old cousins. The home was immaculate, offered full laundry facilities and dishwasher so we were all set."

"Great house for a family. The house, which is nicely decorated with antique furniture and very well maintained, has an interesting history that includes stays by Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller and Saul Bellow. It has a furnished (including a farm table and chairs for dining) screened porch with skylights that runs the length of the side of the house. The porch opens onto a sizable partially fenced yard with grass and flower gardens surrounded by mature trees. The house is not air conditioned, but the porch has ceiling fans and the interior rooms have plenty of windows for ventilation and can, if necessary, be cooled by portable fans. The bedrooms are good sized, and the beds comfortable. There are two and 1/2 baths in the house. The half bath is downstairs off a bedroom; the two full baths are upstairs, both with tubs (but only one of them has a shower; you have to stand in the tub to use it). There is a spacious outdoor shower which we used regularly. The kitchen is small but efficient; it is very well equipped with modern appliances and ample cookware and dishes. The owner lives nearby and he and his wife greeted us on arrival. No doubt that they would be very responsive if there were any problems (we didn't have any). Property location is close (around a corner) to Alley's general store and a sandwich shop, next door to a church, across the street from a playground, and a block from the Grange Hall where events and outdoor markets regularly occur. Although there is daytime traffic on a major road about 1/2 block away that goes up-island, Music Street where the house is located is usually quiet. Both streets are virtually silent by late evening and overnight. This property would be suitable for cold weather stays since it has fireplaces and is furnished to make it the sort of place where you'd like to curl up with a good book (there are plenty to choose from throughout the house)."

"The photos you see of this place, do not give it justice. I planned a women's getaway weekend and this lucky, hidden gem truly amazed my group. From the fully equipped kitchen to the spacious bathrooms (and yes the master bathroom with the deep Jacuzzi tub) were fantastic. There was so much room to move around. We had plenty of extra towels, linens, sheets and pillow cases to go around. The location of this summer home is remote, but when the sun peers through your window in the morning, you will truly appreciate the smaller things in life.
David, thank you for a remarkable stay and we look forward to seeing you next year.
