PERFECT house for a family MV trip!
"Where do I begin? I guess I will start from the beginning! We initially reached out to "Dave" in early July, he responded almost immediately. From there, we decided to reserve his home in VH.
Upon arrival, we found the house to be spotless and exactly as pictured/described!
There were a couple of minor "issues" but Dave was quick to respond & did his absolute best to resolve!
The house is very very spacious, 2 FULL Bath's on the First Floor & another Full Bath on the 2nd floor. There is also an outdoor shower but it is not enclosed. Perfect to rinse off when you've just come back from the beach!
The kids LOVED having their own space upstairs in the "loft" area outside of the 2 twin bedded bedrooms. Up there is also a TV and DVD player so the kids were content for hours! There is even a small desk which came in handy for my kids who hadn't yet finished their Summer Homework!
Whatever you think you might need, this house has! We didn't have room to bring Bikes, Dave was gracious enough to let us borrow theirs which worked out great!
The front farmer's porch is AWESOME! Plenty of room for everyone to hang out & enjoy some "island porch time". After all, what's the Vineyard without a porch! There's also a smaller porch off the side of the house which was nice too!
We were able to walk to VH in less than 10 minutes but I will say that it would be tough to do it with luggage...it's a short enough trip that if you don't have a car, a cab would be affordable! It's also within walking distance to the Friday Night Lobster Roll Fest at Grace Church...you have to check that out, if you haven't already!
All in all, this house is very well priced & located! We typically stay in Oak Bluffs so it was nice to stay elsewhere & become acquainted with this part of the island!
Dave is great as is the "handyman" Vinny next door! You won't be disappointed!"

"Truth be told, I was conflicted about writing a review for this house...torn between wanting to sing the property's praises and (selfishly) not wanting the word to spread so much that it would make it more difficult to rent in the future! The best way to describe the house is: it's a home...permanent, lived in, cared for, comfortable. Rather than feeling like a beach rental, it feels as though you are staying at a friend's house who just happens to be away while you're there. It's nicely decorated and well stocked as if the owners spend much of their time there (thankfully for us, they don't) and will be back any minute. From the breezy open plan living room / dining / kitchen, to the sunny deck overlooking Vineyard Sound, to the cozy family room (perfect for binge watching Netfilx on a rainy day), it's a great house in which to spend your time on the Vineyard when you're not out experiencing all that the island has to offer. The four bedrooms on the lower level (including two master bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms) are comfortable and quiet with direct access to the yard and outdoor shower. Like the house, the grounds are lovely and well tended and offer a nice spot to sit and enjoy the sunset. The location in the Lower Makonikey neighborhood of West Tisbury is easily accessible to Vineyard Haven but as you drive down the gravel road to the house, you feel miles away...the best of "up island" living close to town. The quiet north shore beach is an easy 5 minute walk from the house and Lambert's Cove beach (perfect for kids) is minutes away down the road by car. So if you must rent this house, please just don't stay too long and make it harder for us!"

"The photos you see of this place, do not give it justice. I planned a women's getaway weekend and this lucky, hidden gem truly amazed my group. From the fully equipped kitchen to the spacious bathrooms (and yes the master bathroom with the deep Jacuzzi tub) were fantastic. There was so much room to move around. We had plenty of extra towels, linens, sheets and pillow cases to go around. The location of this summer home is remote, but when the sun peers through your window in the morning, you will truly appreciate the smaller things in life.
David, thank you for a remarkable stay and we look forward to seeing you next year.

"We loved our stay at David's guest house. It is located on a dead end street within a 10 minute walk to Vineyard Haven. David was a great host, telling us about all the island had to offer, when to hit the right beaches, gave our 2 year old some beach toys, and he even hunted down some vegetarian restaurant options for us. He went out of his way to make sure our stay was really positive. We had a car and this was a perfect base camp to explore the whole island. As other reviews mentioned the bed is a little hard, but we had no issues in getting a good nights sleep. On the last day our son played outside in the backyard while we packed up the car, and we knew he was safe as this neighborhood was secluded. David went above and beyond on the last day and let us stay much later as no one else had reserved the property. Thanks David for the great time, we will be back soon!"
