"We enjoyed our 2 week stay in this home. The room sizes were large, and provided ample gathering and quiet time space for our family. It is a brief walk to Vineyard Haven downtown area and ferry, which is nice. The strolling wild turkeys that paraded thru the yard daily proved amusing to our children. We wished the home had an enclosed outdoor shower."

"Great house for a family. The house, which is nicely decorated with antique furniture and very well maintained, has an interesting history that includes stays by Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller and Saul Bellow. It has a furnished (including a farm table and chairs for dining) screened porch with skylights that runs the length of the side of the house. The porch opens onto a sizable partially fenced yard with grass and flower gardens surrounded by mature trees. The house is not air conditioned, but the porch has ceiling fans and the interior rooms have plenty of windows for ventilation and can, if necessary, be cooled by portable fans. The bedrooms are good sized, and the beds comfortable. There are two and 1/2 baths in the house. The half bath is downstairs off a bedroom; the two full baths are upstairs, both with tubs (but only one of them has a shower; you have to stand in the tub to use it). There is a spacious outdoor shower which we used regularly. The kitchen is small but efficient; it is very well equipped with modern appliances and ample cookware and dishes. The owner lives nearby and he and his wife greeted us on arrival. No doubt that they would be very responsive if there were any problems (we didn't have any). Property location is close (around a corner) to Alley's general store and a sandwich shop, next door to a church, across the street from a playground, and a block from the Grange Hall where events and outdoor markets regularly occur. Although there is daytime traffic on a major road about 1/2 block away that goes up-island, Music Street where the house is located is usually quiet. Both streets are virtually silent by late evening and overnight. This property would be suitable for cold weather stays since it has fireplaces and is furnished to make it the sort of place where you'd like to curl up with a good book (there are plenty to choose from throughout the house)."

"This is a little gem of a house with such a welcoming feel. Tucked away in a private setting but a short drive to all the best MV has to offer.
The house is so well stocked for dining in and all one needs for a day at the beach. The homeowners have thought of everything. Cozy, clean and comfortable. Felt right at home.
Thank you Mark and Tess."

"We've stayed in this house for several years and feel right at home. It's got a very relaxed vibe, is in a great location, and is very private. The layout of the house is great if you've got teenagers, as the master bedroom is on the main level, and the other three bedrooms are downstairs. It's always been impeccably clean when we arrive and we especially love the outdoor wrap around deck. 10 minute drive to Menemsha, the Chilmark Store, and LV Beach. Great beach house!"
