"We could not have found a better home for our first time staying on Martha's Vineyard. We were in town for a wedding and our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The setting is peaceful and private. And that porch is awesome!! We spent as much time as we could
just sitting out there and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The owner is very nice as well.
We hope that we will be able to come back and stay for a longer time."

"Great house for a family. The house, which is nicely decorated with antique furniture and very well maintained, has an interesting history that includes stays by Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller and Saul Bellow. It has a furnished (including a farm table and chairs for dining) screened porch with skylights that runs the length of the side of the house. The porch opens onto a sizable partially fenced yard with grass and flower gardens surrounded by mature trees. The house is not air conditioned, but the porch has ceiling fans and the interior rooms have plenty of windows for ventilation and can, if necessary, be cooled by portable fans. The bedrooms are good sized, and the beds comfortable. There are two and 1/2 baths in the house. The half bath is downstairs off a bedroom; the two full baths are upstairs, both with tubs (but only one of them has a shower; you have to stand in the tub to use it). There is a spacious outdoor shower which we used regularly. The kitchen is small but efficient; it is very well equipped with modern appliances and ample cookware and dishes. The owner lives nearby and he and his wife greeted us on arrival. No doubt that they would be very responsive if there were any problems (we didn't have any). Property location is close (around a corner) to Alley's general store and a sandwich shop, next door to a church, across the street from a playground, and a block from the Grange Hall where events and outdoor markets regularly occur. Although there is daytime traffic on a major road about 1/2 block away that goes up-island, Music Street where the house is located is usually quiet. Both streets are virtually silent by late evening and overnight. This property would be suitable for cold weather stays since it has fireplaces and is furnished to make it the sort of place where you'd like to curl up with a good book (there are plenty to choose from throughout the house)."

"We had a very enjoyable time staying in this uniquely and lovingly designed, magically personable house. There were so many delightful and brilliant features to this house - it is truly one of a kind. The house was comfortable and roomy for our two families to work, lounge, read, and gather. The airy, light-filled solarium that soared from ground floor to the third floor - with balconies, a shower, eucalyptus, and fig trees - was enchanting; and we enjoyed the "widow's walk" view from the top of the house. We all agreed that the convenience of being able to walk to shops, ferry, beaches, restaurants in ten minutes was a huge plus. The process of rental was easy, accommodating, helpful, and welcoming. This was our fourth summer rental on MV and it was the best experience."

"My husband and I headed to MV for a long weekend with my sister's family and rented the house for the 4 days. We lucked out with beautiful weather and we love this quieter time of year on the island. This house was perfect for our needs. We brought along the dogs and had 3 little kids in tow, so we needed some place we could be comfortable and this house definitely allowed us to relax. The house is old and does not have the type of modern amenities we are used to at home, but it makes up for that in charm and location. The location and yard were our favorite things about the place....the kids loved running outside and we were able to tour the whole island and never be too far from home. The amount of bathrooms was great for privacy purposes, we had a babysitter with us and she had her own space too.
All in all, it was a great place to stay, we were able to cook snacks and breakfasts, enjoy each other in the house and have privacy at home when we weren't out and about exploring, which was most of the time.
We'll likely be returning next Fall!"
