Comfortable Island Property
"Great house for a family. The house, which is nicely decorated with antique furniture and very well maintained, has an interesting history that includes stays by Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller and Saul Bellow. It has a furnished (including a farm table and chairs for dining) screened porch with skylights that runs the length of the side of the house. The porch opens onto a sizable partially fenced yard with grass and flower gardens surrounded by mature trees. The house is not air conditioned, but the porch has ceiling fans and the interior rooms have plenty of windows for ventilation and can, if necessary, be cooled by portable fans. The bedrooms are good sized, and the beds comfortable. There are two and 1/2 baths in the house. The half bath is downstairs off a bedroom; the two full baths are upstairs, both with tubs (but only one of them has a shower; you have to stand in the tub to use it). There is a spacious outdoor shower which we used regularly. The kitchen is small but efficient; it is very well equipped with modern appliances and ample cookware and dishes. The owner lives nearby and he and his wife greeted us on arrival. No doubt that they would be very responsive if there were any problems (we didn't have any). Property location is close (around a corner) to Alley's general store and a sandwich shop, next door to a church, across the street from a playground, and a block from the Grange Hall where events and outdoor markets regularly occur. Although there is daytime traffic on a major road about 1/2 block away that goes up-island, Music Street where the house is located is usually quiet. Both streets are virtually silent by late evening and overnight. This property would be suitable for cold weather stays since it has fireplaces and is furnished to make it the sort of place where you'd like to curl up with a good book (there are plenty to choose from throughout the house)."

"We stayed at the guest house to vacation on the Vineyard and had an amazing time. The house is fully equipped, immaculate and comfortable. The house also seemed larger in person than in the photos. The location feels secluded yet is only a ten minute walk from Main Street. David is a wonderful and accommodating host. taking time to answer any and all questions and provided great suggestions for activities. This property is highly recommended."

"My wife and I just finished up 4 days in this lovely home. It is in West Tisbury and away from the touristy area. It is very quiet and secluded and well maintained. There is a small market just a short ride from the home called Cronigs Market. If you need something you can probably find it in this small market. We found fresh produce that was grown right there on the island and a small fresh meat case. The best perk of staying here is that you can use the Lambert's Cove beach. By far the best beach that we visited while we were there. The sand is very soft...we went out there on 2 nights just to watch the sunset....if you get a chance we highly recommend that you do that. If you are looking for some great clam chowder than you have to visit the Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company in Vineyard Haven. For $20 get a quart to go and bring it home. If you are looking for great lobster rolls than the place to visit, and it's only on Fridays from 4:30-7, is The Grace Church on Woodlawn Ave in Vineyard Haven...it is well worth the wait...we got ours to go.
Again the house is nice and very comfortable...thank you Pam for opening it up for us to use. You were very quick in responding to all of our questions. We had a great time and very relaxing time there. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place away from the touristy area but also just a short ride to get there. If we ever get back to Martha's Vineyard we will be sure to rent this place again."

Great house centrally located on Martha's Vineyard
"We loved the house, especially the airy upstairs master with its own bathroom and sundeck. And we loved the outdoor shower. The house is centrally located on the vineyard, but in a quiet setting. It has all the amenities you could want, including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. It was immaculate when we checked in. Great experience! This was our first time on Martha's Vineyard and Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven and Edgartown can be a little overwhelming with traffic and crowds, but it was great to return home to peace and quiet.
We went to Long Point Beach and also Lambert's Cove beach (you need to get a sticker). Also went to Beach Plum restaurant which is in a beautiful setting in Menemsha. Next time we will bring bikes and use bike paths, because we had to drive everywhere and there was a ton of traffic. I would definitely rent again, the house is lovely."
