"I rented this house with my above 50's girlfriends and our adult children for a long holiday weekend. An excellent experience and I will definitely rent again, and again, and again! The owners are easy to work with and very attentive should any need arise. The fully equipped kitchen, newly renovated living room and bathroom are comfortable. The house has a great deck with BBQ, a great place to lounge, star gaze or enjoy your morning coffee while the deer graze nearby. A few minute walk or bike ride to Ditch Plains Beach makes this a surfer's and fisherman's delight. As an added bonus; the house has an outdoor shower with hot water, how great is that! Ceiling fans, patio doors, large windows allows the wonderful Montauk's beach breezes cool the house."

"Our family enjoyed this quirky, rambling Shelter Island home. Comfortable outdoor space served as a focal point for family and extended-friend dinner gatherings, while the top-notch kitchen was stocked to the hilt with just about anything a serious cook might need. The house was quite spacious for six adults - two parents and our adult children, each accompanied by a guest. In addition, our Golden Retriever, Henry, found the large front porch and chasing of rabbits very much to his liking.
The house is located just a few minutes drive from the North Ferry; the location is peaceful and quiet. David was quite accommodating with the entire rental process and the home and its amenities were just as stated on the VRBO site.
This is our third visit to Shelter Island and it's a truly special place. We've enjoyed hiking in the gorgeous Mashomack Preserve, as well as the varied selection of wineries on the North Fork - we especially recommend Shinn Estate Vineyards and Anthony Nappa's The Winemaker Studio (think Anomaly Pinot Noir white wine!). The drive through the Hamptons out to Montauk is a half-day well spent. Bob's Fish Market on Shelter Island was a good source of fresh local seafood for home cooking and Noah's in Greenport served up some interesting and savory tapas. Vine Street Cafe, while quite expensive, was an extraordinary and memorable dinner. Hay Beach is a great little spot for relaxing and bocci ball. The star gazing from Rose Cottage on clear nights was awesome! Driving through the Forks, Sag Harbor and the Hamptons is a reminder that Long Island Forks region is stunningly beautiful."
