Round Mountain Lodge, ein charmantes Berghaus oberhalb des Lago Jocassee am Rande des Gorges State Park thront, bietet eine erstaunliche Rückzug vom Leben Hektik. Es ist nur 3,2 km vom Wilds Camp und Konferenzzentrum und dem Zugang zum Frozen Creek im Georges State Park entfernt.

Auf der Südseite des Round Mountain zwischen den malerischen Bergdörfern von Brevard und Lake Toxaway, ist Round Mountain Lodge nicht einfach ein Haus in den Bergen, sondern ein "Berg zu Hause."

Der Wohnbereich verfügt über eine Decke und Blick auf die Berge von einer Bank der Südfenster. Der Kamin (nicht die primäre Wärmequelle) dominiert den Wohnbereich. Warmes Holz ziert Innenwände ebenso wie einige erstaunliche Quilts von einem lokalen Künstler. Das Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss hat einen Kingsize-Bett; ein weiteres großes Zimmer im Obergeschoss verfügt über einen bequemen Queen. Alle Zimmer verfügen über Daunenbetten. Der Schlafraum befinden sich zwei Etagenbetten, so dass Round Mountain Lodge die ideale Unterkunft Wahl für zwei Familien, die gemeinsam Urlaub machen möchten.

Die Höhle, die Heimat Einzelbetten Ausziehbetten enthält Familie Spiele, Puzzles und Medientechnik. Kinder können eine DVD oder Sat-TV zu sehen, während die Erwachsenen teilen Gespräch in der Ruhe der Wohnbereich. We enjoyed our stay at Round Mountain Lodge. The home is supplied with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Cozy, roomy, beautiful cabin

This cabin was even more beautiful in person-- and so roomy! We had my whole family gathered for Thanksgiving-- all adults-- and there was room for everyone so no one felt crowded or on top of each other. Amazing views... big, stocked kitchen... cozy blankets and the fireplace was perfect. And the outdoor firepit on the rock was our favorite hangout. It is far from everything, so bring what you need so you don't have to travel down the mountain for anything. Brevard is also a quaint, wonderful little town. Thank you for the wonderful Thanksgiving memories!

what an amazing place! the amenities alone were over and above anything we expected. the place was clean, and the booklet of the property was very helpful. this place is perfect for families, especially with the game room and tv downstairs. if you stay here, you must spend at least one evening sitting out on the rock-fire pit area and see all the stars! simply put, best place weve ever stayed! make sure to bring everything you think you would need as the place is pretty remote. and if you forgot it, they probably have it already!

A Perfect Family Vacation -- All 8 of us want to do a repeat

Eight family members of 3 generations gathered for a perfect vacation on Round Mountain. We found that the accommodations lived up to their description. Perfect mountain home, artistically decorated. Julie's quilts themselves provide a beautiful display and a wonderful ambience. Each room was a delight. We gathered on the screened porch, in the kitchen, living room, den, game room, downstairs TV room -- everywhere. The bedrooms were so attractive and beds were all so comfortable. Bunk bed room was a hit for 4 siblings. Kitchen was so well-stocked. Our 2 cooks who planned the food found it so convenient. Our activities: we hiked, jogged, played frisbee, played games, did yoga, read (everyone loved the chaise lounge on the screened porch), danced during a birthday celebration, used WiFi for laptops, and gathered on the giant rock for photos. The welcome book was so informative and entertaining to read. (Read it right away!) Learning the history of the house and location enhanced our appreciation. Loved the extensive book selection!!! Used the living room's waterfall books to find our perfect waterfall trip. We chose Triple Falls in DuPont State Recreational Forest. Didn't know until later that it was used as site in Hunger Games movies. Beautiful visit there. Even on a beautiful fall Sunday it was not jammed with visitors; spacious paths and unbelievable triple waterfall. So peaceful on Round Mountain. City kids remarked on how pleasant the quietness was. Perfect weather, but wouldn't care what the weather was up there. Could still have a wonderful time. We all want to go back. Thank you, David and Julie, for your thoughtfulness in accommodating our request to increase our visitor count as more people signed on for the fun!

Little slice of heaven

We found some piece and quiet. The property was larger than expected. The owners are very organized and we loved the fact everything was labeled, just makes life easier. The porch is where we spent a lot of our evening family time, talking and enjoying the breathtaking sunset. It felt like a home away from home. If you’re looking for that mountain vacation home, this is it! Ps- wonderful restaurant about 25 minutes away called Pantherville Restaurant. It was delicious and everyone was friendly.

Enjoyed a great stay at Round Mountain Lodge

Round Mountain Lodge was well stocked and very comfortable. In many rentals, the kitchen provisions are a "Mish-Mash" of stuff which get you through the week. At Round Mountain Lodge, the kitchen was fully stocked with all supplies to cook up meals each day (measuring cups, spoons, bowls, pans, serving bowls). It's about a 20 minute drive to Brevard and Pisgah, but not too bad to be out in the quiet Blue Ridge surroundings. We did some grilling and had a small bon-fire on the rock out back. Walked, Biked, and Ran on Round Mountain Road before our daily activities....We highly recommend Round Mountain Lodge.....Thanks for the Great Stay.

We purchased this house because we wanted to give our two children, ages 6 and 9 at the time of purchase, a 'mountain experience' and the opportunities to hike, enjoy nature, and explore all that the woods and the mountains have to offer. When we first looked at this home, we knew it had all the charm, comfort and access to the wonders of the mountains that we were looking for. Although we're less than a half hour to Brevard, we feel like we are truly far away from the demands and pressures of life.
Round Mountain is a remote mountain community with gravel roads perfect for hiking and exploring, a pond near the mailbox / entrance, and access to plenty of open space and unfiltered nature . When we don't have guests, we enjoy our mountain home; it doesn't feel like a "rental", but rather like our beloved nature retreat.

It's readily apparent that we love and cherish our mountain home. Personal touches abound. Adults appreciate the comfort and amenities; children love our tire swing, the cave in the back yard, and the ample toys and games we have available for rainy afternoons. We also have a large library at the cabin, including guidebooks, novels, and children's books.

Our outside spaces are as wonderful as the inside. We have a screened porch off of the kitchen / main floor with porch swing and other ample seating, and a downstairs dining deck boasting a table that seats 8, a bar for four, and our gas grill and mini-frig. Adjacent to the downstairs deck is our new stone patio with chiminea and four Adirondack chairs. This space faces south; it's lovely for stargazing.

Before entering the house, you're welcomed by a lovely summertime rock garden and a southern view of the Blue Ridge..

The house is large enough to accommodate two families (or one large one). We limit rental parties to no more than eight guests. Since there is flexibility with beds and bedrooms, it's easy to accommodate individual needs and preferences. For example, adventurous "tweens" may want to sleep in the "Harry Potter bed under the stairs" in the basement; the Bunk Room holds 4; and the den, two in the trundle beds. The master has a king bed; the upstairs bedroom, a queen. So make yourselves at home and spread out!

Our interior spaces are large and numerous. In the basement, you'll find a game room with foosball table, plenty of games and toys in the closet, and an assortment of Julie's homemade quilts, many with a bear motif, that adorn the walls. Our large t.v. is also on the lower level, allowing some guests to enjoy Netflix, Apple TV, or Hulu while others converse in the upstairs living room.

Guests often compliment us on the bounty of kitchen utensils, cookware, and every tool you will need to prepare a meal. We also leave basic ingredients in the pantry for your use (flour, spices, oils, other basics). We think it's silly that so many rental properties skimp on such essentials. The kitchen also has a Keurig coffee maker as well as a regular coffee maker.

A large brick fireplace dominates the main living area, serving as a visual divider between the living room / dining room and the kitchen. The main floor also hosts the king bedroom, the den with trundle beds, a full bath with tub, and the screened porch. The upstairs holds the queen bedroom, bunk room (with two sets of bunk beds) and a bathroom with shower. The lower level has a laundry room, large tv room with two couches, recliner, and the "Harry Potter bed under the Stairs." This floor also has our game room with foosball table. Access to the dining deck is also on this floor.
