About Bill Stutts
Our families have owned the house since it was constructed. We are two families with common grandparents, and many of us grew up using the house when we could be in the mountains. Our parents selected this lot above all others in the Snowmass area because of its view and the knowledge that the house would always enjoy a spectacular natural setting.
Why Bill Stutts chose Snowmass Village
We treat this house as home. We have selected furnishings that work well with families with active children as well as adults, and have made some effort to avoid a "second-class" feel in the fabrics, the furniture, the kitchen, and the technology in the house. Above all it is a peaceful place (when not occupied by many children) and provides a sense of comfort difficult to find.
What makes this House unique
The view from the house can hardly be matched and the property provides peaceful spots among the trees, and some places to play. The areas of Snowmass and Aspen (and further down-valley, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs) reveal many natural wonders, and much sophisticated dining and cultural events. The skiing and hiking are justifiably famous.

Perfect place for a ski vacation, so close to the slopes!
I go on a ski trip almost every year, and this property was by far one of the best I have ever stayed at. If you plan on skiing the Snowmass/Aspen area, this house is the best place to do it from. The owner was really great in providing instructions and making sure we had everything we need. The house has a great layout with plenty of room for more than one family, with a great living room for everyone to gather. The kitchen had everything you could need. Something else that is important to note is that all of the food delivery places deliver to the house, so if you are tired from a long day of skiing, you can just order in.
I definitely plan on staying here again when I return to Snowmass.
PERFECT FAMILY SKI VACATION IN SNOWMASS/ASPEN
We flew into the Aspen airport and a short 10 minute drive later we were at a mountainside home with gorgeous views of the Snowmass valley, being greeted by two very knowledgable hosts.
The two master suites and large kids room were ideal for two families. There is also a loft that the older children loved to hang out and read a book in.
The deck provided the best views and was a great place to take in the fresh Colorado air and enjoy a glass of wine. The small details of the house were very noticed and appreciated with pleasant surprises throughout the home that made it as comfortable as your own. A true gem to stay at, which obviously took many years to perfect for it's guests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Many thanks for your note and your kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed your time in the area and that the house met your needs.
The perfect ski trip - the perfect ski house
35 inches of snow the weekend before we arrived made the skiing one of the best we had experienced. It was our first trip to the Aspen/Snowmass area and we wanted to ski all of the area resorts, so instead of finding the usual “ski-in ski-out” condo, we looked for a local ski house for our base.
I was attracted to the house by the photos on the website, and by the price. I contacted the owner and was impressed with how friendly and helpful he was. Based on the correspondence we decided to book the house for the week.
Everything was perfect. The house was everything the photos show it to be. The location was great – in a quiet hillside neighborhood with a wonderful view of the valley and mountains. Two of our mornings the sky was clear so we had beautiful sunrises (most of the windows of the house face east, so you can’t miss the sunrises). It is barely a 2 mile drive to the Snowmass village, and about an 8 mile drive to the Aspen area resorts, so the drive was short. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill which would be a bit of a walk, but do-able. The owner provided a parking permit for the Snowmass Village parking area which was very nice.
The kitchen was just like home, and well apportioned. If you like to cook you will find every gadget, measuring device, bowl, pot, pan, knife (about 30 knives sticking out of 2 wooden knife holders), turners, whiskers, that you could possibly want. The pantry was much better stocked than we have experienced at any of the condos we have rented – check to see what’s there before making the shopping trip.
The house and bedrooms have a roomy and comfortable feel. The water heater in the laundry room is the biggest I have ever seen – there was plenty of water for each of us to have a nice hot shower after a day of skiing. And the electric blanket on each bed was a very nice touch.
The house has wireless internet, and none of us had any trouble with phone reception.
I had thought this trip to the Aspen area would be a once only trip but I loved the skiing (particularly the Highlands) and the ski house was fantastic, so now a return trip is definitely a possibility.
My family tries to escape the Oklahoma heat for a week every summer by going to the mountains. This house was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy our week away. The deck was a great place for our morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. With the mountains in our view and the hummingbirds hovering nearby, how could it get any better? Maybe by seeing the most brilliant rainbow ever or the brightest stars! The owners are generous with their knowledge of the area and with their hospitality. The pictures are accurate and the kitchen is well stocked. We did most of our meals at the house. Aspen is a short drive away, but we preferred the quiet of Snowmass! The boys in the group climbed 14ers while the girls did short hikes and shopping. There's something for everyone. Thank you Bill!
Thanks. We're glad that you enjoyed your time in the mountains and are happy that the house fit your needs. Please consider visiting again.
Vacation in Snowmass
Ten of us, in 3 generations of the family, all from the eastern slope of Colo.,spent 5 superb days skiing, snowshoeing, eating, watching basketball tournament games, playing games, and thoroughly enjoying this get-away home. Everything was "as advertised". The owner was very helpful in answering questions about the home beforehand, and the local contact (part of the owner family) called to see if all was well after we had settled in. I (we) would enthusiastically recommend this property to any group similar to ours. I hope we can do a repeat performance next year!
