The cottage is a wonderful holiday home and comfortably accommodates 8 guests in 4 bedrooms with space for one travel cot in the master bedroom.

Whilst the twin room and the larger master bedroom also with a king-size bed, are on the first floor and share a bathroom with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. All beds are made up with hypoallergenic feather duvets and pillows with 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen. Or if you want to wonder a little further, Little Walsingham is a short walk away and offers a few pubs and cafes. Many of the establishments are dog friendly but it is always advisable to book beforehand in high season.

Wonderful short break
We had a lovely break in this beautiful spacious property that was perfect for our 2 families. It is in a great, quiet location but only a short drive away from Wells & Holkham. The host is so helpful & accommodating & we all wish we could've stayed longer!

Family stay
My stay was overall brilliant. Half Moon House was very nice and well equipped. My only complaint is that check in wasn’t until 5pm and check out was at 9am. These are Covid checks in times when properties had to be deep cleaned and with a 9am check out, you have to basically pack up the night before, cutting short your enjoyment time at the property.

About the host

Hi I live in Suffolk but Norfolk is a very special place for me after having many holidays there as a child and then actually getting married at the spectacular Blickling Hall a number of years ago!! Our love of the North Norfolk coast led us to buy our own bolthole which we like to share. Our adult daughters also enjoy spending time their to recharge from their hectic lives. We love dogs and have two adorable (but sometimes naughty) Cocker Spaniels, Henry and Bertie and we are very happy for you to bring your well behaved pooches too! (up to 2). The boys love long walks on the beaches and in the countryside close by. I enjoy browsing in the the wonderful individual shops in Holt and Burnham Market and of course we all enjoy delicious meals in one of the many local pubs and cafes nearby. Half Moon House is a very special property which is steeped in history - it has a aura of calm as you arrive and we always feel rested and sad to leave! It really is a special place that makes you relax as soon as you arrive. We have tried to think of all the home comforts that will make your stay enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you.

Why they chose this property

The house has been completely refurbished to a high standard and is very well equipped and is a home from home. It is a perfect location to enjoy the whole of North Norfolk and all the many great things it offers.

What makes this property unique

We have a wonderful dining kitchen, which is well equipped to cater for all you guests and bathed in light in the morning whilst having your breakfast. The bedrooms are all well appointed and tastefully decorated, with very comfortable king size or twin beds and the 2 en-suite bedrooms are downstairs making them ideal for someone who is less mobile or indeed for 2 families to holiday together whilst enjoying some privacy, especially multi generational parties! Finally the large sitting room with its feature fireplace and smart TV, is a good size to accommodate everyone if you choose to have a quiet night in with a glass of wine and put the world to rights or play a game!
