About this property
Luddie's Country Cottages - Poppy Cottage
Poppy cottage is a delightful single storey stone-built barn conversion. Once a Dairy farm the farm is now a smallholding with a collection of different animals . Surrounded by a mix of farmland, woodland and nearby to the beautiful beaches, North Yorkshire moors and seaside towns of Whitby.
The space
Poppy cottage has a cosy open plan living and sleeping area. With a king size bed, oak wardrobe, bedside cupboards and book shelves, table and chairs, sofa and drawing table. A separate well-equipped kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. Outside there is a private deck where we have a sofa, table/chairs with view's over the rolling Esk valley.
The decking area is perfectly positioned for seeing the sunrise in the morning, Stars on an evening and a whole host of local birds and wildlife which live in the old orchard across the cottage.
Guest access
Note: there is a cobbled path leading towards the cottage which is uneven and was part of original farm.
Guests have access to free parking throughout their stay. On the farm we have several Ryland sheep, a handful of Cameroon sheep and our own cross breed's which we have nicknames 'Rylaroonies', roaming chickens and currently two alpacas, who live in the fields surrounding the farm.
Other things to note
Before arrival we will provide customers with a key code to our lock boxes. On here will be a fob to open the electric gate and the key is for the front door of the cottage.
