Great host, great location, great value
Every trip will have some kind of issue, so the most important thing is how well a host communicates and takes steps to resolve things. Mark was extremely communicative and helpful, and the few minor things that came up, he was very on top of. One of the best hosts ever.
The unit itself was clearn and well-furnished with dishware, utensils, coffee maker, etc., and was plenty big enough for a vacation (you are going to spend most of your time at the beach or a restaurant anyway, so you don't need a huge bedroom). We enjoyed using the grill next to the pool almost every night, as well as the pool itself and the shuffleboard. You have a designated parking spot right outside the unit, which was also very convenient.
The waterfront view is actually a view of the intra-coastal waterway, rather than the beach itself. But the view is very peaceful, and the porch is perfect for having some coffee in the morning or drinks at night (and is screened in, so no mosquitos -- which is great!)
The beach itself is about a 5-10 minute walk down Stickney Point and across the drawbridge. That may be further than you'd expect from the description, but for us it wasn't a problem and it's nice to see the intracoastal, the palm trees, the birds, and sometimes fish (or people catching fish). Sunsets were gorgeous, and my wife came home with bags and bags full of some truly beautiful seashells.
Overall, we had an excellent time, and would definitely rent from Mark in the future.
