Ubicada frente a la playa en el tranquilo Mar de Cortés de México, Casa Cardonal es una exquisita finca privada con una playa de arena virgen, agua para nadar, piscina infinita, jacuzzi y amplias áreas para sentarse y comer al aire libre. Nuestros huéspedes disfrutan de la pesca de clase mundial, kayak y exploración de vehículos todo terreno en y alrededor del pueblo informal de pescadores de El Cardonal.

Este complejo privado de un acre, construido en 2005, y está disponible para alquiler por día (mínimo de 4 noches), semana o mes.

La Casa, sus 4.000 pies cuadrados de espacio dramáticamente abierto, ofrece vistas espectaculares del agua y espacio para entretener a una multitud. La Casa incluye todas las comodidades modernas, incluyendo TV vía satélite, un sistema estéreo incorporado, conexión inalámbrica a internet y una cocina "de vanguardia" con vinotecas, cajones calefactores, cocina a gas de 6 quemadores y microondas.

Los 2,000 pies cuadrados Casita (casa de huéspedes) ofrece una cocina completa, sala de estar con chimenea y dos dormitorios con baños en suite, con capacidad para 6 personas adicionales.

The Casa is amazing!

We had a great time here. The rental company are great facilitators and are prompt with communication. The house has a ton of amenities and is well maintained. Mino made sure the hot tub was full and hot every morning. The beach and ocean amazing and we saw whales and mobula rays while we were there.

Amazing.

It was our best vacation ever! The pictures truly do not do this place justice. We had five couples, there was enough room and privacy for all of us. One of the highlights was renting 4-wheelers and driving in to Las Barriles along the coastline. I would definitely recommend this.

Totally Amazing

We (5 couples) had an amazing time at Casa Cardonal! The people, the property and amenities were incredible! The guys fished for a total of 12 hours and caught some great fish species with Mino as their boat captain! We used the pool, hot tub, shuffleboard and ping pong on a daily basis and enjoyed every minute! We loved Maria and Mino especially! Francesca and Octavio were amazing as well! Thank you for providing this very fun and memorable place to stay!

Hidden Gem

Third time back and can’t wait to return! Maria and Minot tend to every need!!! The home and casita have everything you will need right down to the sunscreen in case you forget to bring some. The local stores have the daily provisions you might run out of, but be sure to shop at Chapitos in Los Barilles on your way up. La Dina is a very good spot for breakfast and lunch as well as the Hotel. Great Italian/Mexican food at La Hornilla. Fun pizza bar behind the hotel. Relax and have fun!!!

The Best House in Baja

We spent a few days here (for the 2nd time!) in January and had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing time. Casa Cardonal is perfectly arranged for a family to spend as much or as little time together as they want. Everything you could want is included so all you have to think about is relaxing. Mino & Maria Louisa are fantastic around the property and always there for anything you need. Getting there is not for the faint of heart, but that's kind of the point. Do yourself a favor and make the trek out to this little piece of paradise and leave the world behind for a week. It's good for the soul :)

Not Enough Stars

This was our second visit to Casa Cardonal. Much like the first, working with the owner, Mike, was a real pleasure. He is attentive and responsive. For practical advice, please see my review from our trip last year. This year, we went the first week of May, and it was THE PERFECT time to go. Excellent weather without being too hot. Casa Cardonal is a the picture of relaxation. From paddle boarding as the sun rises to deep sea fishing with Mino, this vacation is unlike any other. Even my wife finally agreed that this far exceeds our annual Hawaii pilgrimage. I'm already missing this place, so after I write this review, I'm going to research dates for our next visit!

Excellent in every way possible

I'm very late posting this review, but better late than never. The home is beautifully designed and has a lot of character. Everything that you could possibly need is provided and the staff is very helpful (knowing a little bit of Spanish is very helpful). Being located on the beach with a fishing boat at your disposal is not bad at all. We were able to arrange fishing, snorkeling, and trip a restaurant by boat with very short notice. We are not experienced fishermen, but Mino helped us catch a 40lb Dorado—a real beauty and we had fresh fish for the entire trip. We enjoyed several catered meals at the house that we’re excellent. The small town feel of El Cardonal is very cool (be on the lookout for a random cow walking down the sidewalk). Everybody that we met was friendly and tolerant of our bad Spanish. I recommend the Villa for anybody with a large party that wants to get off the beaten path and enjoy the natural beauty of Baja.

Property exceeded our expectations! I would highly recommend staying at the Casa El Cardonal

From the moment we arrived to the day we left, we were very happy with our stay. We had wolf management have a Mexican dinner waiting for our group of 12 upon arrival. The food was amazing and ended up having a few more meals catered after that. Mino the onsite caretaker took great care of us. Attention to detail, but without being overbearing. The property was very clean and well laid out. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Ocean was great for swimming. Chartered a boat one day for fishing. Explored the near by area. Definitely out in the middle of nowhere, but the little town of El Cardonal has all the amenities you need. Small market to grab a few things and a few local restaurants. All very casual and outdoor seating, but wonderful local Mexican cuisine. At one point during our stay we had 16 people staying at the house and didn't feel crowded at all. In summary, if you want a grand estate on the water, relax and enjoy your company. This is a great find!

My four girlfriends and I...

My four girlfriends and I spent our annual Girl's Getaway at Casa Cardonal and we had a FABULOUS time. We have been all over the Caribbean and this was our favorite place of all! We rented both the main villa and guest house (so much space!) The estate has every possible luxury (including the most gorgeous views of the Sea of Cortez!) that you can imagine. The hot tub in the evening was a highlight, with the stereo system that is awesome throughout the patio/pool area. The taco stand down the road was incredible...the best tacos (and atmosphere) that we have ever had! Mino, the caretaker, was the perfect host (and boat captain) with an infectious smile! The infinity pool leading to the beach was the perfect backdrop for our pictures. We were spoiled beyond belief! Octavio was the best. He (or should I say his wife) catered several of our meals and we are still talking about them. The day tour was a treat as well. We are already talking of a return trip!!

Can't wait to go back!! The property is amazing!

Casa Cardonal is spacious and beautiful. The design of the casa is perfect for a large group with plenty of cozy spaces for playing board games or reading. The casa was bright and very inviting with a large covered patio that looks out onto the pool and Sea of Cortez. The stone and tile work inside and out is incredible. It is a very beautiful setting and made for a relaxing and perfect vacation. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and relaxing in the hot tub. They are plenty of activities for all ages and is also a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. We were very fortunate to be able to watch whales breaching, flying rays as we kayaked, and to have dolphins swim along the side of our fishing boat. This vacation was truly a wonderful experience for our family. The management company and the support staff were friendly and responsive to our questions and went out of their way to welcome us and to ensure we had everything we needed. Maria and Francesca made excellent meals upon request and taught us how to make homemade tortillas. The food they prepared was delicious! We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back. We highly recommend Casa Cardonal and plan on returning in the future.

A Family Vacation We'll Never Forget

As all the previous reviews have stated, this place is amazing. We went this April with our family of 16 to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We were 8 adults and 8 grandchildren ranging from 4 to 14 years old. Upon leaving home our biggest fear was could we keep everyone entertained for 7 days. Our expectations were far exceeded. Everyday was a new adventure and an opportunity to bond as a family.. The casa is perfectly planned and maintained for any sized group, bedrooms and bathrooms for each family, large living spaces to spread out, huge kitchen, outside shaded patio that was the favorite gathering place, plenty of places to eat both inside and outside and views that will be memories forever. We had the cooks for breakfast and dinner each day and the food was fabulous. It was presented in such a way that everyone could mix and match what they wanted. Francesca was amazing, lots of fun and easy to work with. She was a huge hit with the Mom’s and kids. Our favorite was fresh fish and one day to celebrate, we ordered steak and lobster. Also included was a maid service to make the beds, clean linens, and sweep the floors. Entertainment? Every morning more than half the group was on the deck watching the sunrise, at night millions of stars, perfect weather, kayaks (at one point dolphins swam between the group), swimming, hot tub, ping pong, shuffleboard, and an almost empty beach. Lots of ocean sightings, one whale, rays jumping, dolphins, fish and excellent snorkeling up the beach. The biggest hits were that we rented two ATV’s for the week and one morning we rented 4 horses with guides that were brought right to our beach front. All managed through Wolf Properties. We also enjoyed going to lunch twice at Ponte Pescadero about 15 minutes up the dirt road. We piled everyone in the Yukon and on the ATV’s. Wonderful views and a nice break from the casa. Everyone we met locally was very friendly and we never felt cheated or unsafe. For my wife and I easily the best family adventure ever. We’ll be back.

The PERFECT Family Vacation Spot!

My wife, 5 kids (ages 1-9) as well as their cousins (2 more adults + 6 kids) all stayed for a week in February. The vacation was fantastic. We travel all over the world, and this is one of the few experiences that EXCEEDED our expectations going in, which is a truly rare occurrence. First, here's what's great - the house is much larger than the pictures show. Our group all fit with ease and in beds (granted some small kids were sharing queen beds). The outdoor space is fantastic. Huge covered space in addition to uncovered space. There was nothing as exquisite as standing at the massive back doors wide open letting the ocean breeze hit you and seeing the waves crash against the beach mere feet away. We had all meals catered which was fantastic and made the experience easier and more enjoyable. Now - some practical advice - everything costs more than you think. Catering is expensive if you do it frequently. We negotiated a discount (because so many of our group are small children) and a week's meals still cost $2,000. But in my opinion, it's still totally worth it. Maria and Francesca are extremely nice! Transportation to/from the airport is also expensive. I recommend renting a car (we did) because you may want the freedom of movement while you're there. There is a vehicle on the property for guests to use, but it can't be taken far. Fishing costs a not-insignificant sum. We went in February (because we live where it's freezing cold in the Winter and we have to escape). It is very windy at this time of year to the point we could not take the boat out. Just keep this in mind. If you want to rent ATVs (a lot of fun on the beach), talk to Maria - her son will rent them to you through his company for much less than the Property Management company. There is a TINY grocery store nearby, but if you want anything resembling what you will need for meals, it is 30 minutes away in Los Barriles. Wasn't an issue for us since our meals were catered, but plan accordingly. Lastly, neither the chefs nor the onsite caretaker speak any English. In a world with Google Translate, that's probably okay, but it really helped a ton that I speak Spanish. If you have even rudimentary Spanish abilities, it will help you! In sum, this place is awesome. The people who work there are awesome and friendly. The property management company is very helpful and will answer any questions you have. We recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Birthday Trip

I couldn't have been happier with the house. We rented Casa Cardonal for a family birthday trip. We had Maria make all the dinners and they were all wonderful. She also made birthday cake for two of the meals also delicious. Mino took us out fishing two days and we caught Dorodo, Tuna and Marlin. The only down fall to the house is the distance to town, but the house can easly provide entertainment for everyone

Great property and neighborhood

If you are looking for high end, this is it. Location is great if you don’t want to be in the hustle and bustle of Los Barrilles. If you rent a Side By Side it’s 25 min drive to town. Great fishing from the panga on property. Lots of amenities. Our family loves this part of town - it’s very low key.

Casa PERFECTO!!

This by far was one of the best family vacations we have taken together. The Casa and Casita exceeded our expectations. Mino, Francesca and Maria could not have been more attentive . The pool is spectacular and was used 4-6 hours per day. We'll be back for sure!

Paradise

The only reason I gave a 4 star rating on the accuracy of the description is because it was so much more than described. We wished we could stay through the summer. Our group ranged in age from 4-71. We all had the time of our lives. Franseca and Maria became family to us. Maria’s granddaughter, Paulina, came a few afternoons to play with our 5 kids while Maria made us popcorn and cookies. We used a translate app on our phones so we could visit with each other. Maria and franseca taught us to make tortillas one day and tamales another day. They spoiled the kids every morning with pancakes and anything the kids asked for. We used the paddle boards and snorkeling gear then went fishing with Mino 2 times. We met the couple next door and found we had been to high school with them and had several friends in common. A small world. We would happily return again.

We knew the property was beautiful from the pictures, but we had no idea how truly amazing it would be until we pulled up, the doors were all open, and we could look out to paradise! Everything was perfect: the food, the fishing, the warm pool, and relaxing hot tub. Mino, Francesca, and Maria were wonderfully attentive and friendly. We kayaked through the manta rays, drove ATV's through the mountains, paddle boarded, played ping pong, and so much more. We will definitley be back as soon as we can!! Thank you.

Private and enjoyable

The place is on a beach with almost no other people around. Perfect for a getaway with family or friends. Would definitely return.
