About Catherine Ryan
My husband and I love to travel. We also love to be home taking care of our cats and garden. Both Marc and I are University of Washington alumni, and met in Seattle. We also have a number of rental properties and are quite handy - no emergency scenario we can't take care of quickly means zero frustration for you!
Catherine Ryan purchased this House in 1986
Why Catherine Ryan chose West Queen Anne
Our house is a duplex and we keep our second apartment- where you will be staying - flexible for visiting relatives. This means we have taken great care with the furnishings, comfort and attention to details. It truly is a wonderful home.
What makes this House unique
We may be home in the other apartment, available if you need anything. But the apartments are entirely separate and private.

Beautiful apartment in Queen Anne Seattle
It’s a beautiful, clean and comfortable apartment. Catherine is a nice hostess with lots of information about the city and the thoughtful treats at our arrival. I’m sure we will be back.
It had everything. Lovely view. Easy walk to close by bus stop. Helpful hostess that kept us supplied with yummies. Private. I am coming back!
Feeling at home in Seattle
I cannot say enough about our stay at Catherine's place. She is so gracious and thoughtful. After traveling 9 hours by air from the east coast to visit our son, she made sure we needed for nothing when we arrived. We had breakfast items for the next morning which was wonderful, a small bottle of wine that was greatly needed after our flights and she checked in periodically to make sure we had everything we needed, she even took care of our recyclables. Everything was so immaculate and the beds so comfortable. Catherine was ready to answer any questions we had about sightseeing. If you are travelling from a long distance and don't want to cook, I would suggest to find Ken's Market early. They sell prepared meals at great prices. They even sell adult beverages. The little outside area was perfect for those adult beverages. If you decide to rent a car parking is easy but you don't need one if you are only going downtown or to see a game, local transportation is easy to figure out and very accessible. I can't wait to visit again.
Quaint and charming in Queen Anne.
We really loved this little apartment. There were four of us and there was plenty of space to spread out. There is an amazing CD collection with music from all genres, which is a rare treat. The view was lovely and the location is ideal, just minutes from everything. We used UBER a lot (although we rented a car too) and they found us easily. The only downside was it was a bit noisy being the lower apartment. You could hear walking around upstairs and it was pretty loud at times. Catherine is very nice and accommodating.
Very lovely place
Catherine's place is truly lovely. We found the place very comfortable, beautifully furnished, the kitchen was stashed with thoughtful treats for our arrival, and the place has a great view onto the ocean - on top of that, Catherine was extremely helpful in accommodating all our requests for help. This is a gem of a place; highly recommended.
Was truly a pleasure to host you and your family.
Beautiful view from porch
My rating is really a 4 3/4...….The apartment is great. Clean, two bedrooms and fantastic bathroom with a HUGE tub and shower. Well stocked, great location. We Ubered all over Seattle and always a car there in less than 4 minutes and easy to get where ever we wanted. Nice to come back to after busy days in the city. The pastries were a special treat, the fridge stocked with yogurts, milk, coffee, tea cereal. Stayed in many VRBO's and this was a first with treats. My family loved the lemon/ginger bars. Suggestion for bath, a few hooks on the wall. With three people, only one towel bar or had to hang over shower. The reason for my 1/4 star reduction was the floor noise from above. I even wear ear plugs to bed and it was loud and we couldn't get to sleep. The floor noise in unit is bad too, but over head worse. Just an FYI the "climb" to the front door is steep (short, but steep) if you have bad knees. That being said, it is a lovely apartment, in a great neighborhood, easy accessibility and Catherine is very accommodating.
I’m so sorry to hear that you couldn’t sleep! One downside of a vintage house - it creaks a bit. We have never had anyone say they couldn’t sleep before, though... we are early sleepers, so it must have been the younger, rambunctious cats along with usual old house sounds.
Front access to the property is definitely a hill climb. We usually encourage guests to use the back entrance and park on 10th Ave. I will definitely install more bathroom hooks and appreciate the feedback.
