About this property
Rocky Hollow a beautiful retreat in a wildlife rich Mountain Community!
Rocky Hollow is a true log cabin wrapped in the sights and sounds of the Great Smoky Mountains. Perfect for couples or families. It is located in the Laurel Valley community of the Townsend. Paved roadways allow for easy access year round. Laurel Valley is a Black Bear habitat and is rich in wildlife.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch, looking out onto the beautiful outcroppings of Limestone rock that have given this cabin its name.
As you step inside you will be greeted by the stunning staircase of twisted Mountain Laurel branches. The main level keeping room features a stone fireplace to warm those crisp fall and winter evenings.
The kitchen will serve you well, from new granite counters to the farm house cabinets.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook a full meal, or nuke a burger.
If you prefer to cook out, there is a gas grill and outdoor dining area that overlook the private wooded back yard.
After a long day in the park, enjoy slipping into the luxury King Size bed in the main level master bedroom. This is only steps from the main level bathroom that features a walk in shower.
That beautiful staircase will lead you to the loft sitting area. This area is great for watching television on the huge flatscreen television, playing cards, or just enjoying the company of those you have traveled with.
The upper level has a full bath with tub and shower combination, and a luxury queen size bed. Beautiful linens, towels and bedding are provided.
You will enjoy a location that is a 7 minute drive to the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. There are plenty of places to enjoy a good meal out or carry home to your mountain get away.
The IGA in Townsend has everything you will need to gather groceries to cook your own meals at the cabin.
Enjoy a true mountain experience in the Smokies. We hope you will make Rocky Hollow your home away from home in the Smokies!

About the host
Hosted by Cyndie Cornelius
We arrived in the Smokies over 16 years ago. Our first trip was a fly fishing adventure. Until then, my only Smokies adventure had been to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Townsend proved to be an oasis in the mountains. The setting is serene and peaceful and without the trappings of the more recognized areas. Trout were not the only things hooked that weekend... we were as well. Just one year later, we arrived in Townsend to live full time. It took a year to make it happen, but we were determined to make the Smokies our home.
We surely can not imagine living anywhere else. Waking every morning to the sunrise over the mountains, and the sights and sounds of the birds and other wild life living in the area, is an unbelievable experience.
It has been our objective to educate others about the wonders of living here in this beautiful place and we have done our best to create an environment that will hopefully give our guests a place to call home when they come to visit.
The number of returning guests has grown greatly in the past years.
