About Beatrice H
We are beach lovers-and my friends call me the Sweet Queen of the Turtle Kingdom because we have seen two 300 pound loggerhead turtles lay their nests walking distance from the cottage! We help our interested guests know when turtle nests hatch, etc. My husband and I love walking the beach at sunset, and our family and friends enjoy visiting us on the large deck!
Beatrice H purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Beatrice H chose Long Beach
We wanted a cottage by the sea. This one has no neighbors between us and the ocean and no close neighbors on either side. We love the open, panoramic view that can be seen from all the rooms in the house. The L-shaped deck allows us to choose a spot with the perfect breeze and temperature all year round. We searched for over 10 years to find this dream location and charming cottage. Our neighbor two houses away was featured on HGTV on Island Life. All our guests notice that we have a "back to nature" feeling, but are really close to absolutely anything you might need on a vacation.
What makes this Cottage unique
The options with this cottage are endless. If you want to just relax, many of our guests enjoy the deck all day long. If you want adventure, you can rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boards (phone number on fridge) or even jump out of plane. You can take airplane and helicopter tours, explore charming South Port, shop in Myrtle Beach or take the Ferry to many locations, including Bald Head Island. There are many fabulous restaurants, and you can even find an art class just a few blocks away!

Excellent location and very clean.
We were blown away by the location, right on the beach! We took a day trip to Bald Head Island and it was fantastic. The house is only a 5 or 10 minute drive to the ferry. Highly recommend Loco Joe's as well for great food. Our family of 3 stayed very comfortably in the house. The owner was friendly, responsive, and courteous.
We are overjoyed that you enjoyed our little piece of paradise. That trip to Bald Head Island is one of North Carolina’s best kept secrets. It’s hard to believe that you can actually go to this island on a ferry, rent a golf cart and see such a breathtaking, magical island. We’re so glad you love the location of our cottage. We think it’s exquisite! Thank you for taking good care of it. We hope you come back soon.
This enchanting cottage has the best view around. Easiest possible access to the Beach.
The Atlantic Blue cottage is a home away from home. The cottage has a very private, cozy, warm, bright, relaxing, and tranquil atmosphere. It has the easiest access possible to the beach with the best view around. You can even see a lighthouse from the back porch. The living room has an amazing picture view of the ocean that you could get lost looking out for hours. The master bedroom also has an amazing view that you can see while lying in bed. Even the second bedroom has an amazing view, especially when the sun is setting. The cottage has a full bathroom and half bath that kept very clean and neat. The washer and dryer are new and very easy to use. The full kitchen allows for you to make home cooked meals while enjoying a beautiful view of the ocean. The porch is very large and has a lot of birdwatching potential and allows for you to see a bunch of animal activity. This cottage is very enchanting and makes for an excellent place to get away. When you stay at the Atlantic Blue, you will never want to leave. With this in mind, make sure to book your stay longer than you initially intended.
We are so happy that you had a wonderful time. Sometimes we ourselves cannot believe the incredible location of this cottage. The sunset and incredible ocean views are something that even pictures can not completely portray. We hope you'll stay much longer on your next visit. We are happy that you enjoyed your time and thank you for taking such good care of our place. We love the proximity to the beach access just about as much as we love the views from our large L-shaped deck. Isn't it amazing how you can find a warm day in the off-season if you find the "spot" out of the wind? Our guests love this cottage all year around. Thank you for all the kind words. Come again soon.
A nice little gem to get away from it all!
This is a nice little retreat on Oak Island with a beautiful beach and a variety of wildlife in the area. The cottage sleeps up to 7 or 8 comfortably and the part that was most enjoyable was the large wrap around porch outside. The owner was very responsive to questions asked prior to the rental. Thank you.
Becky, it always makes us so glad when people enjoy their stay at our little piece of paradise. We trust you were able to enjoy the sunrise and the sunset over the Atlantic! It is so important to get away now and again. We are already booking for next year, so just let us know if you choose to come back. Warmly, Beatrice and Randy
Spectacular views from every window!
Cozy cottage feel. Nice size kitchen and lunch counter. You can sleep in the master bedroom and watch the stars. Everything was in good working condition. There is a nice L shaped deck so you can sit outside and hide from the west wind (and still have a view). The views were awesome, from every window!! It was freezing outside (January), so the beach was empty, quiet no one around. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway!! We’ll be back to visit again.
Heidi & Bob, We are so happy that you had a great time. We have had guests all year round, and every season has something special. What's most special about the winter is that the sunrises and sunsets are right over the Atlantic Ocean. Did you love seeing those dolphins? They come by almost daily-along with the beautiful pelicans. I trust you were able to enjoy some of the very close restaurants! We are proud of our cleaning staff and support staff. We look forward to having you back--maybe you can come in the summer. This is not a crowded vacation spot in the summer and the beach is pristine.
Walk .2 miles to the Flying Fish Restaurant at the pier near us. Joseph’s restaurant is fabulous. Also, South Port is only 8 miles away and the restaurants and atmosphere is amazing there-like a mini Charleston. I would recommend Fishy Fishy-right on the water. The absolute most magical day trip is to take the ferry from South Port to Bald Head Island. Rent a golf cart and see the whole place—just amazing. There is a massage therapist one block away-Pam’s card is on the fridge. Guests like walking to her or she can come to you. Or, Island Healing Chiropractic and Hearts & Sol are a few blocks away and have great massage therapists. Three blocks away you can get veggies straight from the farm, and honey too. Also, Island Healing offers great yoga classes and a Monday night TRX class. If history is your thing, there are war forts at Fort Caswell. If you want to book a day to climb the light house, you have to do that in advance. Guests personally watched turtle nests 8 and 9 being laid on June 1st. It is about 60 days until the boil. The mother turtles were about 300 pounds. Nest number one hatched on July 16th. Nest number 47 (Norton Street two blocks over) hatched on September 2nd, 2017 and guests were there to watch 112 baby turtles race to the sea. Check the Rec. Center for more information. Or check Caswell Beach Turtle watch for all updates. Fish and seafood caught that morning in our sea is available at Pelican Seafood—just go left a few blocks on Oak Island Dr. I like to pick up the grouper and cook it myself. 910-454-8477.
