Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
NO SMOKING. Put bagged trash in dumpster. No loose food. Dispose of grease properly, not in our yard. Don't leave dirty dishes in dishwasher. Run it!
No kids or glass near hot tub. Don't wear same bathing suit worn in river in hot tub (promotes bacteria). Close and strap cover closed when finished.
Party w/non-registered guests requires prior approval by owner. No parking on the grass. ABSOLUTELY NO HAIR DYE, TAPED DECORATIONS OR GLITTER!

We visited in October and the leaves and valley were beautiful with vibrant colors as far as the eye could see!The home was perfect to serve as a launching point to visit Monticello, explore Skyline drive and relax away from the busy city. The hot tub on the back porch was a highlight as we soaked in the evening looking over the valley. Beds were comfortable and allowed us to recover from daily activities. Highly recommend and will stay again someday!

House description and photos are accurate and Eileen is a nice host. We enjoyed the walking trails and feeding the horse, the view, and proximity to Luray Cavern and wineries. WIFI is really slow and TVs are older so you’ll need a fire stick or similar and patience with streaming delays.

Rented for our son’s civil ceremony, it was the perfect home base to have as we spent time in Luray and hiked Shenendoah. The host was incredibly gracious. She even came out and mowed the yard so we could have pictures out there!

Great stay at Skyline Meadows

We very much enjoyed our stay, and Eileen, who lives within shouting distance, was always available for anything--she fixed the internet on the first day we were there, and offered us fresh eggs from her chickens. Wonderful place to stay!

Weekend Wedding Retreat

We were attending a wedding in the area and this property provided a great place to stay with plenty of room to socialize and relax. Incredibly scenic and peaceful and only a few minutes outside of town.

Fantastic House!

Our family has a wonderful time at Eileen’s house. There was plenty of room for our group; the house had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the piano and the nature trails on the property. We would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Skyline Meadow is the best VRBO we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at many! Location is serene and gorgeous; yet, convenient to Luray restaurants, caverns, and Shenandoah National Park (Thornton Gap entrance). Eileen is an incredible, thoughtful, and responsive host and she provides everything you could need during your stay. She sells fresh eggs from her chickens and she even made me a baby aloe plant! Highly recommend and we will be back!

Great Property, Excellent Views!

Stayed at the property for a long weekend with two families (4 adults and 4 kids ages 2-5). The layout was perfect for our families having 2 master bedrooms. Eileen was a great host and very responsive. The property is was in a great location within 20-30 minutes to several family friendly hikes and trails.

I am an artist who studied design, photography, and graphic communication. Most of the art adorning the walls of this rental are my work. I designed this luxurious house, completed in 2008, with the goal of hospitality. As my two daughters move out to pursue their dreams in college, I am able to pursue my passion of welcoming visitors. I have moved out to a smaller residence on the property, and am usually available for any assistance. It will be my pleasure to accommodate guests celebrating family vacations, weddings, reunions, and business & spiritual retreats.

Why they chose this property

I love nature, and I first fell in love with this 26 acres property because of the mountain view. I also love the combination of meadow and woods. I keep most of the property registered in the Page County Land Use Protection Program to conserve natural resources and protect local wildlife. I maintain many paths through the woods so that visitors can take walks right on the property.

What makes this property unique

The view facing the Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive provides gorgeous sunrises and sunsets!

I named my home Skyline Meadow because of the rolling terrain which faces Skyline Drive. My home is only 10 miles (15 minute drive) to Shenandoah National Park Thornton Gap Entrance. Visitors can travel along Skyline Drive to many beautiful overlooks or hike one of the many trails.

Although nature surrounds this property, it is located only 5 miles (10 minute drive) to Luray Caverns and 3.5 miles (5 minute drive) to downtown Luray. Guests have many choices of shops, restaurants, and theaters (live and movie) to visit. Luray even has an art gallery!
