Cycle the country farm roads on provided bicycles. Marvel at dolphins, osprey, bald eagles, heron and pelicans.

The 4300 square foot house features a wide open floor plan, new appliances, baths and furnishings, and stunning and endless Bay views from every room. Amenities include: double hot/cold outdoor shower, foosball and ping pong tables, 4 large HDTVs, 5G wireless internet and free long distance telephone. Charming carriage house apartment (always included in the rental) features queen bed, full bath and kitchenette, central a/c, HDTV and private water view deck.

Main Living Area Accommodations: The great room includes a huge wood-burning fireplace with unlimited firewood provided, upright Yamaha M1 piano, comfortable chairs, a large sectional sofa, and a 65-inch Smart HDTV. The great room is open to both the kitchen and the dining room. Connected to the main living area is a fully screened sun porch overlooking the Bay as well as a huge vaulted sun room overlooking the Bay with a sectional sofa, 65-inch Smart HDTV, foosball and ping pong tables, overhead skylights, books, magazines, and games.

Bird Watching : Bring your binoculars and camera! The Chesapeake Bay is well-known as a bird lovers paradise. You can watch several local osprey, great blue heron, bald eagles and pelicans diving and catching fish as well as pods of dolphin passing by. Ospreys and heron come every morning to fish along the shoreline. In the winter months you can listen to the roar of a thousand Canadian geese arriving together to spend the night near shore. Cardinals, blue birds, finches, purple martins, and other songbirds also abound among the bayberry trees, magnolias, azaleas, crepe myrtles, dogwoods, and towering loblolly pines on the 1.5 acre property. Decks patios and porches overflow with brilliant geraniums and hibiscus in summer months.

We can arrange additional bike, kayak, and paddleboard rentals, and help you find charter fishing/sailing/boating, sailing lessons, in-home catering, local chefs, marina services, winery tours, massage therapy, horseback riding, cycling tours, rowing (sculling) lessons, and golf itineraries.

Everything was great! The kitchen was well equipped and the second refrigerator was an added bonus. While the weather was chilly we still enjoyed practicing soccer and walking/hanging out by the water-the sun helped us to socialize by the beach. The “sun rise show” was fantastic and hike in the area was short and sweet due to grandkids getting older, being teared away from electronics and ping pong!

What an absolutely wonderful vacation experience! The house and property are top-notch—from the many pine trees to the private beach to the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Everyone in our group said that this was the best vacation place we’ve ever stayed at—“it checks all the boxes.” Tom is a great host and great communicator—all instructions were clear and thorough. We hope to come back!

I had a wonderful, relaxing stay in Reedsville. The host, Tom, made sure I had all the information I needed in advance. It is a lovely property with beautiful sunrises and a great small private beach. My pup and I enjoyed it thoroughly!As Tom forewarned, the cell service is spotty, but for me, this only added to my ability to get away and unplug. The only thing I wish I had packed was bug spray!

Awesome Private Beach

The accommodations were great, the view from the house was amazing, but the greatest part was the private beach!!!!!. Beds were very comfortable, well appointed, large beach house to accommodate a large family and very clean!!!

Absolutely perfect place for family to be together.

The home was beautifully appointed. The location was very private and the home was clean and well appointed. There were things to do for all ages. The bay provided safe water fun for kids and adults alike.

Bay vacation

Beautiful house, great beach for the kids. Downside: restaurants were closed most of the week. We had a couple of days where you could smell the fish processing plant, limiting outside activities.

Relaxing Family Trip

Took the family and two small grandchildren (6 mo. and 2.5 yrs.) and had a great time. Plenty of room for all 7. It's a well maintained amazing property right on the bay with loads of deck space attached to house, a bay view deck, and a group of Adirondack chairs to relax in. Being in Reedville is pretty remote (which we wanted), though house and kitchen well equipped.

Family Fun

I hate to review this place because I don't want it to get so popular that we have trouble booking it again. We went with our children and grandchildren. The house and grounds are lovely. There is plenty of space for a large group with different interests. We brought our own "pack and play" for our little ones.The beach and bay were perfect for our little ones. The water is warm, not deep and had gentle waves. If you are looking for water parks and putt-putt, this is not for you. The community of Reedville is cute with ice cream shops, markets and restaurants (open Thur-Mon). It is not touristy which is wonderful.Our host, Thomas was terrific and easy to work with.

Wonderful vacation house for our family

Our August 11-18, 2012 vacation spent in this lovely home was about as perfect as it can be. House was immaculate...beds super comfortable..our own private beach..a huge lovely yard with blooming flowers and butterflies galore, bikes, kayaks, games..you name it. We spent many hours on the great screen porch and in the calm Chesapeake Bay...from 70 year olds to a 2 year old...with all ages in between The owners have thought of everything and are so easy to work with. I cannot recommend this lovely spot highly enough.

Beautiful Views

We had a wonderful time staying here for my Mom's 75th birthday. We were surprised at how quiet of a town Reedville is, but it was absolutely perfect for our getaway. It was so peaceful sitting on the platform overlooking the bay. Our kids had fun beating the adults at ping pong. We enjoyed the kayaks, and saw some dolphins while we were enjoying our time staring out at the water. Tom was super responsive and so accommodating. Highly recommend.

Amazing vacation!

We enjoyed every aspect of our week. From the spacious and beautiful home, the private beach, the lawn games, the wildlife, and the slow pace. The home is stocked with everything you might need to cook with (although I'm not a fan of the cook-top stoves that glow under the glass) and 2 refrigerators. The water was clean, refreshing, and kept us entertained. We didn't encounter any jellyfish, seaweed, or odors from the fish processing plant. We would recommend it to anyone with a large group. Tom, the owner, was easy to contact and communicated with us the entire time from reservation to checkout time.

Amazing, spacious home. Breathtaking scenery.

I honestly can't say enough good things about our stay. I brought a group of 9 women for a weekend retreat and it was PERFECT. The house was even bigger than I thought it would be-- so much comfortable space! I especially loved all the sun room and porch seating. The view was gorgeous!! Whether it was rainy, foggy, or sunny, there were incredible views overlooking the bay. Our host, Tom, was amazing-- allowed us flexible check in times, which was perfect with so many out of town guests! We had one issue with the dishwasher, which he was quick to respond to. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Many of the guests I brought said the same. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BEAUTIFUL BAY HOME.

Beautiful Home, great for family gatherings

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous home. The owners have truly thought of every last detail to accommodate guests who stay here. This is a great place for kids and the beach/water and yard toys are abundant including kayaks, bikes, sand toys, floats, and life jackets are provided for you. The swing set outside is also great for evening play. The home is quite spacious and we were able to gather at the large dining table and outside patio table for our family meals. The game room is something with both a ping pong and foosball table. In addition tons of books and games are also provided. We really enjoyed our stay and will surely be returning as well as recommending this home to our friends. A wonderful get-away by the bay! Thank you again Tom and Laura for your hospitality. We spent a delightful long weekend at Tom's shorefront house. We cooked all our meals for 12 and found the kitchen more than adequately outfitted. Thanks to Tom's extensive information packet we made use of the local seafood suppliers. He always responded to any inquiry promptly, even on a weekend.Everyone (all 12) found the sleeping and bath accommodations clean, well-supplied and comfortable. The multi-space layout and the grounds were perfect for everything from alone time in the hammock by the bay to dining family style at the long tables- inside and out. It was October but some still enjoyed the kayaks and bikes. Everything in the long list was provided. If you need something he has probably provided it. Multiple car parking required a little bit of creative planning. The wood burning fire places (by the Bay and in the living room) allowed for nice endings to the days. Catch a spectacular sunrise over the bay with flights of pelicans and cormorants. The only negative comment is about the water. Small water & well systems are mainly unfortunate. Tom gave an honest description. The garage apt water is not on the main system and we found it unpleasant. The house water is acceptable but use the bottled water for drinking. People filter their home water, so this is really not a negative comment, just a note. We would definitely return to Tom's place. He has obviously invested time and thought in providing a bayside retreat that feels private and comfortable.

Spectacular place with amenities and space for large family.

We travelled to Reedville, VA for a burial of the patriarch of the family at his family plot. Little did we know that the house we would use would be the perfect place for all 12 of us to be able to walk through this time together. The views were amazing and picturesque, specifically at sunrise. The open space was perfect for gathering with adequate seating for all. We loved the fireplace, game room (well the teens did), the back porch, the ability to use the bicycles, the rooms were perfect amount for 12 people to sleep in beds, the kitchen worked for our needs (primarily breakfast) and just the calm peaceful feelings the house gave off was again perfect for us as we took in this final goodbye. We recommend, if you're looking to find a beautiful home for a large family away from any hustle and bustle, choose this home in Reedville. It's about 45 mins away from some of the other waterfront towns with great restaurants and views. Or just stay at the house/cook on the grill, and enjoy the waterfront relaxation.

Very comfortable with great yard for kids

Tom really came to our aid this labor day as our first VRBO rental (not through Tom of course) had a major septic issue. We contacted Tom and he had the house ready for us in a few hours. We were unfortunately there after labor day so the town had little going on. We did have some trouble finding available restaurants during the week but this is not a problem if you love to cook or are there in the summer. The house is very comfortable with a play area and a living room area that accommodated us (two couples and a 2 year old). The 2 year old loved the playset outside and the grass was very nice. I enjoyed having the house set back a bit from the beach. The beach is tiny so be prepared for that as well as the occasional odor which I believe comes from a nearby fish or crab plant. This is a well maintained home with privacy and a great host. We would surely go back.

Beautiful Home in Beautiful Setting

Our multigenerational family stayed at this property for almost a week and everyone agreed it was one of the best homes we’ve stayed in as a group. Everyone left feeling relaxed and refreshed. The actual home was well-equipped for a group, comfortable, and had plenty of room for everyone to either gather in the main areas, or to spread out for alone time. A lot of thought has been put into making sure that everything needed to live within a group in one home is there, from updated, ample and comfortable furniture, to plenty of kitchen/diningware, to games and activities for those who want it, to an extra fridge because feeding a large group requires a lot of food! The outdoor spaces and the setting is the real draw, though… so many comfortable and peaceful seating areas throughout the property, the shade of the trees, the beach… it was perfect. We most enjoyed kayaking and floating around in the water (which is pretty calm and shallow most of the time), lounging on the deck overlooking the bay, sunning on the back patio, and watching the kids run around playing hide and seek and catching fireflies among the trees. Communication with the owner when necessary was easy, and he was responsive to any questions we had. We didn’t do much traveling in the area (we really just wanted to hang out together at the house), but grocery stores are 20-30 minutes away, and there are good restaurants within the same distance. We’d definitely return!

Beyond Expectations!

This was a perfect vacation for our multigenerational family of nine, with so many well-thought-out rooms and places to spread out. The tweens loved the bunkroom and game room, while the sunroom became our puzzle nook. The back deck, Adirondack chairs, and waterfront deck became favorites for reading or observing the beach fun. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bedrooms spacious and comfortable. The house, the property, and the view are even more spectacular in person. We appreciated the slower pace of this rural area and felt like we hit the jackpot with this property! The private stretch of beach was a highlight, and we had fun swimming, boating, and crabbing. The backyard shed was filled with beach chairs, floats, and yard games. No issues with fish smells or jellyfish. Thoughtful neighbors alerted us to a rocket launch one of the days we were there, and we enjoyed watching it from around the campfire that evening. We loved our dinners in town at Captain Crab (twice!) and Reedville Market. We ventured farther to Horn Harbor Restaurant and the Chesapeake Restaurant at Tides Inn on nights when those in town were closed. (Check hours in advance to plan ahead) No meal was complete without a stop at Chitterchat’s for homemade ice cream! A final foodie shout-out to Fawn’s Delectables Cafe in town. Fawn kept the goodies coming all week long! She and her staff were so accommodating and lovely to interact with, and the café itself is a warm, inviting space. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location and property !

We had a wonderful stay on an absolutely beautiful piece of property! Everything was very very clean - there was not anything that we were missing. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances and utensils.. The host communicated with us throughout the entire process and answered any questions we had immediately. I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Property & Views

The property is very spacious with a beautiful view of the water, gorgeous sunrises and moon rises, with lots of comfortable seating outdoors, a great firepit and a shed full of recreational equipment for big and small! Be aware that occasionally there is a fishy odor coming from a nearby processing plant that fills the air, though brief. We had a few things that needed attention and the owner was very responsive and helpful and even had something repaired while we were there by a very nice handyman. We had a big job of cleaning the grill but I'm sure that's because the last renters did not do it, unfortunately. It's a great size house for family with all the necessary amenities and more, and we enjoyed our week.

Beautiful Chesapeake Bay Setting

This home is beautiful and very spacious for a large family. Lots to do and see without leaving the property. Great place to relax and unwind. We saw dolphins and bald eagles from the waterside deck. Very comfortable seating inside and out.

We found an older beachhouse on a beautiful bayfront piece of property in a rural location only a couple of hours from our primary home. Some imagination and renovations brought the house back to life as a great gathering spot for family and friends.

What makes this property unique

A typical summer week is spent boating, fishing, sailing, roasting marshmallows, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing volleyball and bocce, birdwatching, crabbing --all without leaving the property! Throw in some golf, visits to nearby wineries, museums, and farmers markets, and you have a perfect recipe for a great vacation!!
