Be one of the discerning, fortunate guests to 'fall further in love' at Hawaii Honeymoon House, our new 3,656-square-foot home with breathtaking views of The Big 5: 180 degrees of the Pacific Ocean, year-round sunsets, the Big Island's 3 volcanoes, the Kohala Mountains, and Maui.
You don't have to be a honeymooner to love Hawaii Honeymoon House, but you will feel the bliss of one when here. Designed and constructed in 2009 by newlyweds who have traveled the globe, Hawaii Honeymoon House is nestled on a hilltop acre in the prestigious gated community of Kohala Ranch on Hawaii's coveted north shore.
Built with the finest in Honduran mahogany, Peruvian travertine, Italian stone and Big Island lava rock, Hawaii Honeymoon House is positioned to enjoy year-round sunsets over the Pacific and a steady 80-degree comfort. The ocean views from every room in the house are enhanced by flickering gas tiki torches that frame the infinity-edge pool and waterfall hot tub, and by a lava rock firepit.
Guests receive beach pass/free parking and chaise lounges at the private Mauna Lani Beach Club just 12 minutes away.
Hawaii Honeymoon House epitomizes romance, elegance and luxury, and includes every conceivable amenity to pamper its cherished guests.
Featuring 10-foot ceilings, 8-foot solid mahogany doors, and oversized natural stone flooring throughout, Hawaii Honeymoon House boasts 2 decadent king-sized master suites, 5 full bathrooms, 2 outdoor showers with ocean views, a gourmet kitchen with stainless-steel Bosch appliances and wine cooler, a great room with fireplace, a 6-seat cinema room, a fitness center, an office, a 6-zone audio system, a 2-car garage, a Viking gas grill, an outdoor bar with ice maker, a laundry room with front-loading Bosch washer and dryer, and wine cellar.
Hawaii Honeymoon House's spectacular centerpiece is its expansive great room overlooking the infinity-edge pool (and waterfall spa) that blends seamlessly into the blue sea. More than 30 feet of disappearing mahogany and glass pocket doors with recessed tracking, meant to be left open every waking moment of the day, segue naturally to a covered lanai with supplementary dining and living areas, and to the sparkling 42-foot pool and spa.
The home's spectacular great room, with soaring cathedral ceilings covered by hand-crafted weave, encompasses the meticulously designed chef's kitchen, and equally distinct dining and living areas.
The envy of any gourmand, the ocean-view kitchen revolves around a 6-foot granite and cherry island with 5-burner gas cooktop and stainless-steel hanging hood. Solid cherry cabinetry and imported granite countertops complement the built-in stainless-steel appliances. The 9-foot granite bar with 3 sleek Lyra barstools is a cozy place to keep the cook company, or enjoy a cocktail.
Bisecting the great room is the eye-catching Calligaris glass and cherry dining table for 8 with comfy leather chairs, situated below a glowing 10-candle chandelier. A brass Barska telescope is perfect for watching the breaching whales that migrate through these waters November through April, as well as the canopy of stars at night.
The living area boasts 2 leather sofas by Natuzzi, a bamboo and glass end table, and 2 swiveling side chairs surrounding a one-of-a-kind, 7-foot coffee table crafted by artisan Mike Felig out of the oldest monkey-pod tree on the Kohala Coast. A handmade koa entertainment center with 50-inch plasma TV and Blu-Ray player, and a stone fireplace complete the great room.
Bookended on either end of Hawaii Honeymoon House are 2 ocean-view master suites, each with its own en suite bathroom with jetted tub and door-less walk-in stone shower.
The first master suite features a fireplace, HDTV, king bed with picture window above the headboard, 2 walls of floor-to-ceiling sliding mahogany and glass doors overlooking the pool and ocean, tray ceiling with handcrafted weave, ceiling fan, dresser and custom-made mirror, and walk-in closet with custom shelving. Beyond is the master bath with bamboo-etched glass door, Italian marble counter with 2 sinks in cherry and bamboo cabinetry, oversized soaking tub with heated jets, separate WC, and travertine slab shower leading to a private ocean-view outdoor shower surrounded by discreet rock wall.
On the other end of Hawaii Honeymoon House is the second ocean-view master suite, which has a safari motif replete with African artifacts collected by the owners on their travels, and features an imported custom platform bed, HDTV/DVD, and writing desk. The focal point of the second master bath is an ocean-view jetted tub and the to-die-for door-less shower.
Among the eclectic art in Hawaii Honeymoon House is a hand-carved Fijian tribal mask purchased on the owners' honeymoon, an antique Cambodian rice paddle, and 2 pieces in the entry entitled 'Duet,' depicting a Hawaiian hula dancer opposite her betrothed, painted on koa wood by brothers Alessio and Marcello Bugagiar.
The 6-seat cinema room boasts fully reclining overstuffed Berkline chairs, Denon and Sonance electronics, a 58-inch HDTV with DirecTV, Blu-Ray player, laserdisc player, iPod dock, and library of DVDs and laserdiscs.
The ocean-view gym includes a top-of-the-line HealthRider elliptical trainer, a Gold's Gym Platinum weight station, a Pilates machine, an LCD TV with DVD, a drink cooler, and a Eurolounger for extra guests.
An office with executive desk, computer and printer/scanner overlooks the great room to the ocean, and has a Eurolounger double bed. Wifi works over every inch of the property.
Positioned at a perfect elevation ensuring ideal temperatures year-round, Hawaii Honeymoon House nonetheless features 2-zone central air-conditioning for comfort. The pool water hovers naturally in the 80s.
Maid/concierge service, stocked refrigerator, and private chef available.
