Be one of the discerning, fortunate guests to 'fall further in love' at Hawaii Honeymoon House, our new 3,656-square-foot home with breathtaking views of The Big 5: 180 degrees of the Pacific Ocean, year-round sunsets, the Big Island's 3 volcanoes, the Kohala Mountains, and Maui.
You don't have to be a honeymooner to love Hawaii Honeymoon House, but you will feel the bliss of one when here. Designed and constructed in 2009 by newlyweds who have traveled the globe, Hawaii Honeymoon House is nestled on a hilltop acre in the prestigious gated community of Kohala Ranch on Hawaii's coveted north shore.
Built with the finest in Honduran mahogany, Peruvian travertine, Italian stone and Big Island lava rock, Hawaii Honeymoon House is positioned to enjoy year-round sunsets over the Pacific and a steady 80-degree comfort. The ocean views from every room in the house are enhanced by flickering gas tiki torches that frame the infinity-edge pool and waterfall hot tub, and by a lava rock firepit.
Guests receive beach pass/free parking and chaise lounges at the private Mauna Lani Beach Club just 12 minutes away.
Hawaii Honeymoon House epitomizes romance, elegance and luxury, and includes every conceivable amenity to pamper its cherished guests.
Featuring 10-foot ceilings, 8-foot solid mahogany doors, and oversized natural stone flooring throughout, Hawaii Honeymoon House boasts 2 decadent king-sized master suites, 5 full bathrooms, 2 outdoor showers with ocean views, a gourmet kitchen with stainless-steel Bosch appliances and wine cooler, a great room with fireplace, a 6-seat cinema room, a fitness center, an office, a 6-zone audio system, a 2-car garage, a Viking gas grill, an outdoor bar with ice maker, a laundry room with front-loading Bosch washer and dryer, and wine cellar.
Hawaii Honeymoon House's spectacular centerpiece is its expansive great room overlooking the infinity-edge pool (and waterfall spa) that blends seamlessly into the blue sea. More than 30 feet of disappearing mahogany and glass pocket doors with recessed tracking, meant to be left open every waking moment of the day, segue naturally to a covered lanai with supplementary dining and living areas, and to the sparkling 42-foot pool and spa.
The home's spectacular great room, with soaring cathedral ceilings covered by hand-crafted weave, encompasses the meticulously designed chef's kitchen, and equally distinct dining and living areas.
The envy of any gourmand, the ocean-view kitchen revolves around a 6-foot granite and cherry island with 5-burner gas cooktop and stainless-steel hanging hood. Solid cherry cabinetry and imported granite countertops complement the built-in stainless-steel appliances. The 9-foot granite bar with 3 sleek Lyra barstools is a cozy place to keep the cook company, or enjoy a cocktail.
Bisecting the great room is the eye-catching Calligaris glass and cherry dining table for 8 with comfy leather chairs, situated below a glowing 10-candle chandelier. A brass Barska telescope is perfect for watching the breaching whales that migrate through these waters November through April, as well as the canopy of stars at night.
The living area boasts 2 leather sofas by Natuzzi, a bamboo and glass end table, and 2 swiveling side chairs surrounding a one-of-a-kind, 7-foot coffee table crafted by artisan Mike Felig out of the oldest monkey-pod tree on the Kohala Coast. A handmade koa entertainment center with 50-inch plasma TV and Blu-Ray player, and a stone fireplace complete the great room.
Bookended on either end of Hawaii Honeymoon House are 2 ocean-view master suites, each with its own en suite bathroom with jetted tub and door-less walk-in stone shower.
The first master suite features a fireplace, HDTV, king bed with picture window above the headboard, 2 walls of floor-to-ceiling sliding mahogany and glass doors overlooking the pool and ocean, tray ceiling with handcrafted weave, ceiling fan, dresser and custom-made mirror, and walk-in closet with custom shelving. Beyond is the master bath with bamboo-etched glass door, Italian marble counter with 2 sinks in cherry and bamboo cabinetry, oversized soaking tub with heated jets, separate WC, and travertine slab shower leading to a private ocean-view outdoor shower surrounded by discreet rock wall.
On the other end of Hawaii Honeymoon House is the second ocean-view master suite, which has a safari motif replete with African artifacts collected by the owners on their travels, and features an imported custom platform bed, HDTV/DVD, and writing desk. The focal point of the second master bath is an ocean-view jetted tub and the to-die-for door-less shower.
Among the eclectic art in Hawaii Honeymoon House is a hand-carved Fijian tribal mask purchased on the owners' honeymoon, an antique Cambodian rice paddle, and 2 pieces in the entry entitled 'Duet,' depicting a Hawaiian hula dancer opposite her betrothed, painted on koa wood by brothers Alessio and Marcello Bugagiar.
The 6-seat cinema room boasts fully reclining overstuffed Berkline chairs, Denon and Sonance electronics, a 58-inch HDTV with DirecTV, Blu-Ray player, laserdisc player, iPod dock, and library of DVDs and laserdiscs.
The ocean-view gym includes a top-of-the-line HealthRider elliptical trainer, a Gold's Gym Platinum weight station, a Pilates machine, an LCD TV with DVD, a drink cooler, and a Eurolounger for extra guests.
An office with executive desk, computer and printer/scanner overlooks the great room to the ocean, and has a Eurolounger double bed. Wifi works over every inch of the property.
Positioned at a perfect elevation ensuring ideal temperatures year-round, Hawaii Honeymoon House nonetheless features 2-zone central air-conditioning for comfort. The pool water hovers naturally in the 80s.
Maid/concierge service, stocked refrigerator, and private chef available.

Paradise in Paradise and there's more!
We booked our plane tickets. Then we booked the house. Then I couldn't find a car to rent on the entire island. I asked Victoria, via e-mail if she knew what was going on. She recommended a website to try and I booked a car within minutes! My wife loves espresso. Given the furnishings of this palace, I inquired whether there was an espresso machine in the kitchen. The reply was "no", but there will be. By the time we arrived, Victoria had put an espresso machine in the kitchen. She went above and beyond what is required or expected to make our dream vacation over-the-top! This place is fantastic. Quiet. Spacious.
Beautiful. Scenic. Epic. We prepared and ate every meal but one at this house. The kitchen is VERY WELL appointed. We never wanted to leave and we were always happy to return at the end of the day. If you book this house, you may find my wife staying there. I haven't seen her since she said she wasn't leaving! For all of you men out there, the outdoor shower is incredible with views of the Pacific and Maui (on clear days).
Aloha and thank you for your lovely words. It was such a pleasure to meet the two of you and it was no trouble at all to add an espresso machine to make your stay perfect. I am glad I got to pull my magic hat out and assist you in finding a car despite all the car companies being sold out. It gives us such happiness to know how truly happy you were enjoying your stay at our slice of paradise and we look forward to your return.
The best Hawaii has to offer
If you can only stay in one place in Hawaii and you want it to be the most spectacular, romantic and luxurious ever than the HHH is the place for you.
Situated in the middle of the Kohala Ranch with a view of almost 360 degrees, you are in your own private oasis. No neighbors, no traffic, nothing but serenity, beauty and cows rambling down the road.
The home is everything you hoped for and more - much more. The furnishings are impeccable. We had planned many side trips during our ten day stay but most days couldn't even think about leaving "our home". Relaxing in the infinity pool, watching a movie on the big screen, or just lazing about on the incredibly comfortable outdoor furniture made it difficult to leave.
Did we mention the sunsets, well, they are spectacular too.
We have rented many 5 star homes around the world and this one easily ranks #1 on our list. Go enjoy and see for yourselves.
Hawaii Dream Vacation
Aloha! My Family enjoyed a remarkable week at your home. My wife and I and 2 teenage daughters explored the island by day and in the afternoon enjoyed coming back to your wonderful home in the late afternoon to enjoy a swim, sunset and a private dinner on the beautiful patio overlooking the ocean! Your home is amazing! We enjoyed the open living space, our privacy and the beauty of the mountains, ocean and ranch. We love to cook and really enjoyed the gourmet kitchen. It was our first trip the big island and we thought that the Honeymoon house was located in an ideal place with proximity to the west coast and amazing beaches, the towns of Hawi and Waimea, as well as easy trip to the airport. We couldn't fit everything into a week and hope to come back for another visit soon!
We enjoyed meeting you and your beautiful family. We are so happy you enjoyed our home and all the conveniences of being so close to it all. So much to do for all ages and just staying at the house and never leaving is wonderful too. We look forward to your future return. Mahalo!
We never tired of the view
Jeannie and I and another couple stayed 8 days at Hawaii Honeymoon House (HHH) August 2014. Where do we start to describe this house? Our flight got in late so our friends took the bags ahead to the house; we stopped for a few groceries. Before we left the store I got a text to “hurry up, this place is amazing!” We were beat, but we sat by the fire pit listening to the silence, gazing at the stars, and talking until we could not stay awake. The next morning we hooked the iPad up to the sound system, opened the huge sliding glass doors, and ate breakfast on the lanai. The view never gets old. The house is perfectly clean, beautiful, and modern. It was so pleasant to spot the 6 palms returning home every day after being out exploring the island. After eating on the lanai we usually retired to the home theater or sat by the hot tub talking. Writing this review is allowing all the pleasant memories of our time at HHH to return and make me happy. Victoria was pleasant and professional at every point of the rental process. She bought us little gifts and made us feel very welcome. We have only been back a month and we’re planning our next trip to Hawai’i and will definitely stay at the HHH again. Aloha and Mahalo Victoria
Aloha, we thank you for your kind words and always welcome you back. It is such a pleasure to share our home with such wonderful people. See you again this year!
Relaxing vacation with spectacular views!
We rented this house for 8 days in seek of total relaxation and to get away from the 'resort' atmosphere. Our vacation was for a babymoon - one last adult adventure before our second child arrives. The Honeymoon House provided all that we could dream - and more! It is impeccably clean, provides the most dramatic views of the Pacific (especially at sunset) and offers a comforting spot to sit, lie or float from any room. The master bed provided pure comfort for this pregnant mamma, and the views from the room at sunrise made waking up early something I looked forward to each day. We took full advantage of the grill and fully equipped kitchen for almost every meal. Grilling at sunset was also a highlight each day - - not to mention the multiple whale sightings from the lanai every time I looked out onto the Pacific. The location is great for sightseeing. We saw many different beaches along the Kohala coast, took a helicopter tour from Waikoloa, toured the charming towns of Waimea and Hawi (must sees!) and drove the entire island in one day. If you travel to Hawi - you must stop in and have a coffee or ice cream at Kohala Coffee Mill and take the short drive to see Pololu Valley. If you travel to Waimea, take the back way on Kohala Mountain Road on a clear day for breathtaking views. You will feel like you're on top of the island. My husband and I hope to stay here again soon and highly recommend this to anyone.
Perfect - Our second time back!
This is the second time we've stayed at your beautiful house, as it was so great the first time. We had almost two weeks this time and we'd even have liked to stay longer. Your home is absolutely perfect for our family of 4 (or 5 if all the kids make it) and when we come back from our outings to unwind everyone has room to do their own thing in total comfort. The kitchen is perfectly stocked for everything, the BBQ was great, the appliances are all high quality ( laundry-- as good as my washer and dryer at home!) and in perfect condition. Everything was spotless, which was so much appreciated. The location is great, amazing views, calm and peaceful, and we loved having the cows grazing nearby! The beds are so comfortable and we slept really well. The air conditioning is not needed often, but on the odd hot and non-windy (rare) humid day, it kicked in really quickly and cooled the house so it didn't have to stay on for long...especially as the whole back of the house opens onto the pool area and the breeze is just perfect. The pool is warm enough by the afternoon, even for me (who has a real issue with cold water!) to enjoy, and we all swam and played...and when we weren't using it we admired all the different birds who came for a drink. The theatre area is a lot of fun, and we loved watching the movies you have. We also appreciated all the guidebooks about the island - they included the one that everyone told us to get! THe kids also used the gym area to keep their fitness up, while my husband and I biked/ran up the main road - so pretty. We saw lots of wildlife, (as well as the cows and horses), and very few cars.
The location is also great for exploring the whole island - we enjoyed the drive to Hilo, and to the Southern part of the Island. We ate several times in Waimea, which is a short drive, and spent a couple of afternoons at Mauna Lani making use of the Beach Pass that comes with the house. What a great warm bay. Overall we were pretty busy and did a lot of sight seeing, and after a tiring day, it was so great to come back to your beautiful house and easily throw together a meal and relax. THere really isn't anything we'd change, and we've stayed in houses in several countries, where we'd change a lot! Thank you for thinking of everything, and for being there to provide anything we asked for or needed (although - we didn't ask for or need anything!). As we left we were desperately trying to plan a return trip! Mahalo, Carole
Aloha Carole and family, it was so wonderful having you back at Hawaii Honeymoon House. Thank you for allowing us to share our home with you and your family. You are welcome any time and we look forward to your return visit. See you next year.
