Il servira à la fois de refuge paisible loin de la vie urbaine et de lieu de divertissement. Grande terrasse avec carreaux de porcelaine italienne antidérapants, pergola en cèdre et banquette de patio enveloppante pour vous et vos invités. Accédez facilement aux plages, à la cuisine locale, aux marchés de producteurs et aux magasins de fruits de mer. Savourez les excellents restaurants ou préparez vos propres repas maison sur la cuisinière à gaz Jenn-Air à 5 brûleurs ou le gril à gaz extérieur. Excellent Shelter Island Retreat

This was our family's first stay on Shelter Island, and we loved this house. I was drawn to it on the listing due to the beautiful pool, which our three children loved. Steve was an excellent host, and made check in easy, and he was easily reachable and responsive throughout our stay. We loved that it was quiet and peaceful, and allowed us to have family time together in a beautiful setting.

Great house

Steve’s property was beautiful, super clean, and the pool was perfect. The house is very close to all the top Shelter Island spots. Steve was very responsive to us during our stay. 4 adults, 1 teenager and 2 9 yr year olds had plenty of space. I would absolutely stay here again.

This is a beautiful place with spaces to gather for good conversations or to work or read undisturbed. The kitchen is well designed and equipped; it has a great view of the pool and pergola. The back yard is a perfect place for croquet or other games. The host welcomed us with a delightful tour. The artwork and decor are well done. We were pleased by all aspects of our stay.

Perfect Home

We are repeat vacationers to this wonderful, spacious, clean, well loved home. Eight family members (and our 7yo Portuguese Water Dog) stayed comfortably enjoying the pool, grill, and well appointed kitchen -Steve is a very communicative and generous owner and is able to answer any question about the house or island readily - We hope to be back again for summer vacation! Annual Shelter Island vacation

We had the most wonderful week in this well appointed and relaxing home. The amenities were perfect from stocked pantry and kitchen with essentials to a sun drenched patio surrounding a gorgeous pool. There was ample space for all my grown children. We enjoyed many meals at home and also out at our favorite local spots. Everything that we needed was provided and home owner and manager responded quickly with answers for our few questions. Highly recommend this delightful home in a centrally located area of island.

Perfect modern Shelter Island retreat

Our family of three stayed here for two wonderful weeks this August. This well-equipped house is exactly as pictured -- freshly, thoughtfully renovated with an open kitchen, gorgeous private pool deck with heated pool and plenty of sunny & shady spots depending on your preference, great bbq with direct gas line to the house, amazing Sonos sound system around the pool and in the living room. (We also spent a rainy evening enjoying the 3D television in the master bedroom -- complete with glasses and 3D DVDs!) The owner is extremely responsive, thorough and easy to deal with. Wonderful getaway!

Wonderful and glorious!

This vacation home is just wonderful. Steve welcomed us and showed us around giving us tips and info that were invaluable. We have stayed at homes on Shelter Island for years but Steve’s is by far the best. Well and generously stocked. The kitchen could not be better equipped and organized for cooking any meal. Enjoy eating inside or out. The home has great flow and with the wonderful artwork is so inviting and restful. The bedrooms and bathrooms were relaxing and comfortable. No need to mention the fabulous pool and setting. The photos tell the story. It’s a hop, skip and a jump to the best beach as well as to the IGA and good restaurants You won’t want to leave. We hope to return! Thank you Steve!

Amazing Family Getaway

We spent an amazing week in August at this great rental. Communication with the owner was thorough and prompt both prior to visiting and during our stay. He is incredibly kind and works hard to ensure you have a great stay. The house itself was perfect for our family of four and small dog. The pool and deck area is primarily what we will be back for hopefully soon, as it was a mini oasis for our family. The pool has an electronic cover, which put us at ease with little kids. The heater and salt water features had us never leaving the pool area all day. When we did venture out, the beach was a mile away as were any stores and restaurants. We did grill a ton too, so the feature of it being connected to the house gas line was so helpful. The indoor and outdoor Sonos speakers were an awesome feature too. The location and house is incredible and it was just what we needed to safely get away from our daily grind. We will hopefully be back again soon and highly recommend this rental!

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful shelter island house. The property was amazing with a beautiful pool and very large backyard. The house was decorated perfectly and very clean. A very comfortable and cozy setup for sure. The location was perfect, centrally located so easy access to all parts of the island via bike or car. We can’t wait to go back!

Architect did a superb job renovating and decorating this country home. The owner was always available; pre-check in, at check in, during visit, and after stay. We were impressed with all the supplies available. The house was clean and it was a delight to have a heated pool with complete privacy.

Shelter Island Getaway

To begin with Steve was a very available owner by phone and very responsive. He and his wife made this rental about outdoor living. Beautiful pool area, patio, direct gas BBQ. Sliding doors from all bedroom areas, ample bathrooms. House was presented clean, indoor and outdoor pool area SONOS System was great. Minor negatives were trash had to be brought to Refuge center up the block, the local IGA was expensive ( we brought as much provisions as possible for our stay), beach passes at town hall needed and were $25/ day or 125 for 10 days. Restaurants were fine but expensive and a must need reservation is required. Pleasant island people, quiet. $15 plus $1/person ferry to either Greenport or Shelter Island very efficient. Problem with washer was inconvenient but Steve tried his best for service to the extent that he arranged for a laundry service to pick up and deliver our load of towels. Be warned any service from off the island is difficult to arrange in a timely manner. These were observations from our stay and by no means a negative write up after all we rented with a relaxing island vibe in mind. All in all a relaxing experience.

Amazing stay in Shelter Island

Steve was an amazing host. The communication before, during, and after our stay was above and beyond. There was not a moment where we felt lost or not able to get a hold of Steve. The property itself was amazing! My family and I had such a relaxing and enjoyable time using the pool and spending time in the backyard. The rooms and house itself are newly designed and in perfect condition. Every amenity you need was at your disposal. From kitchenware, to pool towels, to a fully stocked spice cabinet. We will 100% come back to this property.

We had a wonderful time

From booking to check in and all the way through our stay it was a real pleasure staying at Steve’s Shelter Island place. Steve was very attentive and helpful. The house is a real gem, clean, modern and easy to enjoy ... an oasis for relaxing for the whole family. We enjoyed the pool as much as the short rides to Shelter Island beaches and everything the island has to offer. This is a place to come back to! Definitely recommend.

"This is for me," announced our grandfather in 1955, an avid fisherman from the city, pulling up the for sale sign on "tranquility base" and paying the ask for his patch of paradise. Three generations followed him here for its beautiful beaches, clean air, artist's light and small town feel. His descendants have lovingly restored and added to the original homestead, now ready for you, your family and friends to enjoy. Come slow down and fall in love with Shelter Island just as "gramps" did.
