While this is a perfect place to stay and bring your family, it was also very enjoyable for us traveling as a couple.We both love to cook and the kitchen and outside barbecue provided everything that we needed. The covered deck was amazing as rain came through or listening to the birds in the morning while we planned our day.The grounds and the views that surround us are all a 10This side of the island really does have the best restaurants. Mamas is renowned however, the locals go to Colleenā€™s 3 to 5 miles down the road.Baked on Maui is roughly the same distance and then in Paia you have several options- only 10 mins away.Dave and Natalie were great to visit with and it was a comfort, knowing that they were there if anything was needed.

This was a great location for exploring Maui. We don't enjoy staying in busy resort areas so this was a perfect, quiet option. Our group of five (parents, grandparents, and a teenager) all enjoyed this beautiful home. We had Costco deliver groceries when we first arrived and enjoyed cooking most meals on-site. The BBQ grill was a bit dirty and the hosts immediately remedied the situation by not just cleaning the grill, but by replacing it with a new one before we returned from our outing!! We enjoyed every part of the island, from sunrise at the National Park, to whale watching on the west coast and everything in between. We would recommended any one to stay at this home and hope it is available when we return to Maui!

There is a wonderful walk nearby. Go to the end of Hogs Back Rd, continue past the dead end and weave your way down through a lovely bamboo forest. Delightful.We spent three days exploring the area and loved coming back to our quiet respite. Dave and Natalie were helpful and available for any of our needs. It was a great experience.

A few days in paradise

We had such a a wonderful time at this house. The location was perfect for us, being in striking distance of beaches while giving flexibility to travel the entirety of Maui. It was clean, excellently maintained and the beach chairs and toys were such a nice touch.

Itā€™s a good option for a typical family with 2-3 younger children or 2 families with one kid each. Very nice house design especially the deck connecting 2 sides of the house! Big sheltered parking lot, quiet neighborhood, though maybe not your desired location if you are looking for a place close to restaurants, shopping center or entertainment. The owner couple , Dave and Natalie are very nice and gentle people. They provided a brand new futon without any charge to accommodate our kids who wanted to sleep together at the family room, also stopped by to say hi with a bag of cookies! A warm welcome! This is the location close to Hāna road starting point and the Haleakala National park if thatā€™s what you plan for, though no good restaurants or shopping center nearby.

Beautiful cottage in Haiku

The cottage was exactly as described with upscale finishes throughout. Included were comfy beds, lots of extra towels, places to sit inside and on the lanai. Everything you needed to prepare meals with eating inside and outside. Highly recommend for up to 6 people who want to stay upcountry on Maui. Towns of Paia, Haiku and Makawao are nearby.

Peaceful paradise

We woke up everyday to paradise in Dave and Natalieā€™s lovely home. Our family of 6 enjoyed every minute. It was such a peaceful place to come home to after a long day at the beach. My family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Dave and Natalieā€™a cottage. The house is very well kept, had everything we needed. Dave and Natalie were so friendly and easy to communicate. the location of the house is stunning, close to Paia and Makawao. Beautiful home to relax and enjoy while in Hawaii

Our family of 5 stayed at Dave and Natalie's home. It was such a retreat and relaxing getaway. We love the quiet setting. We didnt mind driving becuase it really is close to so much. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Dave and Natalie such wonderful hosts. Let the kids visit the goats and cows. We so generous with lending the boogie boards and chairs for us to use. It was really a perfect place! We cant wait to come and stay again. Also, the beds and pillows were a dream! So comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook, and the bbq was such a bonus!
