Awesome to park the snowmobiles right along cabin. And hillers staff was right there when a minor issue occured. Highly recommend.

They were friendly and prompt, and quick to resolve issues that were in their control. If you’re looking for a cabin close to the lake and just want to enjoy the northwoods, this cabin is for you. If you’re looking for modern admedities,updated furniture,flooring,bathrooms,this is not for you. Too many issues to list, but with a good “facelift”, this place could be awesome!

Renter Beware!!

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was run-down, outdated and not at all as described on the website. For the money spent, it was not at all worth it. Many things were broken, not to code (i.e. dangerous conditions) and just is disrepair. Very unhappy with our stay. We love Elberts resort and have stayed in other cabins there, but this place we will never come back too. Hopefully the owner makes some major updates in the near future!!

Long list of repairs needed for years :(

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin has so much potential but the owner has let endless things slide over the years. The chair in the living room is broken so you tip sideways. The upstairs shower faucet is so corroded you can hardly get any water to come out the shower head - we did have a repair guy try to fix it but the pressure is so weak I cant effectively rinse my hair. The mattress upstairs is so old and cheap I could feel all the springs and had to go purchase egg rolls just to get through the night. The mattress in the pullout couch upstairs is the worst I’ve ever seen in my life - not even usable. Broken screen door. Main entrance door has a broken shock so it slams shut every time - sooo annoying. The bottom rack on the fridge door is broken so you can’t put anything in the lower door area or it will just fall out. With a large group you need all the fridge space you can get and we can’t even use all of the fridge. Many lights are burnt out, not to mention very little light in the living room in the evenings. They did paint this past year which is appreciated but I’d rather some things of function get fixed. Our friends stay in the cabin next door which is the same style as ours but it is SO MUCH nicer with endless updates and more beds and more living space and air conditioning! It is very frustrating to us to pay the same amount as they do when our cabin is so much worse. We only keep going bc it has been the only available cabin and we want to see our friends but if it wasn’t for our friends being there, we would never rent this cabin again. We’ve rented his cabin for over ten years -these problems have been here for years - we’ve asked nicely every year and nothing gets fixed. We will be searching harder this coming year for a new place to stay - just hard when you have a large group. But we will try bc we are tired of this cabin never getting fixed! I beg the owner if you see this message, PLEASE take some money you get f

5 Days at Eagle's Nest

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our party of 10 rented Eagles Nest. The 5 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms worked well for our group. Cabin was clean & the only thing that surprised me was how close the cabins are to each other. The cabin itself could use some minor repairs such as tightening door knobs & fixing slow drains. For the price charged, maybe some updated furniture also. What's with the non functional hot tub area downstairs? Docks were nice & pontoon rental worked well. Had a great time!

Neglected overpriced vacation home at wonderful resort

Run Down - Nothing is Ever Fixed

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Eagle's Nest is aging by the minute and nothing is ever repaired. Kitchen faucet held together by tape. Screen door broken. Basement smells of strong mold. Lower left bedroom window doesn't open (illegal??). Light bulbs in lower bathroom so hot there are burn marks on ceiling. Kitchen light so hot it goes out often. Almost every dresser is broken. Mattress upstairs terrible quality. Pullout sofa upstairs worst mattress ever seen. Owner clearly doesn't care one bit as we've complained multiple times. Only keep coming back b/c of friends and no other cabins avail. But trying to find a new place to go. This one is too over-priced for the poor quality you get. Photo is deceptive.

Reviewer Comments: We have rented property in the Eagle River ,St Germain area for 13 years this is the worst place we rented in 13 years. The storm door hinges were broken and the door would not close or open properly, we called Hiller on the first day they sent out a young kid to look at it on Sunday morning and then left broken for the rest of the week without calling or talking to us. Throughout the week we found many more problems like the kitchen sink faucet taped together, and the basement egress window that would not open. The one front patio door screen would not open, the basement was smelled very musty and there was mold in the upstairs shower. I would not recommend Hiller Vacation Properties or this cottage.

Needs maintenance

Table wobbles, headboards clunk, screen doors broken, curtains broken, window seal broken, recliners are unfriendly, water heater is only warm, heat registers can't be adjusted; everything needs help. Kitchen cabinets are 24" above counter; if you're 7'2" you'll be fine.

We will be looking at other options for next year

Reviewer Comments: This was our third year in The Eagles Nest and may be out last. This cabin needs maintenance and updating. The dehumidifier was not operating properly, so I called and spoke with Angela to get a replacement. I never heard back from her. Maintenance was at my sister's cabin next door on Tues and she sent him over, but the issue was never resolved. The basement was very damp! The upper level had a 12"X 12" hole cut out of the paneling (at knee level and within reach of kids) with exposed wires! The screen door was broke last year and has still not been fixed; screen is tore and it is duct taped. Bathroom sink drain stoppers: One was missing, one was stuck in the down position and needed to be pried up. These are basic repairs!

Review of Eagles Nest and Maple cabins

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, I would recommend Elbert's Resort. We rented 2 cabins for a family vacation. The Maple cabin was wonderful with an great lake view; The Eagles Nest cabin was clean but definitely needs updating and repairs for wear and tear such as the doors and screens. Two of the five bedrooms were located in the basement area which was very musty smelling so no one used that area. The top level bathroom was a bit awkward for my husband wit the slanted ceiling. It would have been nice to have a layout of the cabins ahead of time. The swimming area not set up for young children which was disappointing as our group had four children under the age of 6 yr. We liked having Timbers Bar and Grill on the property. The playground area was very nice. We rented a pontoon boat for the week which was great. We requested property management to check the boat motor which was done promptly but we did not receive a personal response of what the problem was. Check-in was convenient- I liked the app.
