Super great............

We were looking for a relaxing and simple week vacation in a warmer location. We were not disappointed, this property was great.

The property is on a quite road (although the main road, for access does get crazy - being the North Shore) and has really simple access to the beach.

Everything you need is available and Robert did a great job in supporting us during our stay.

Although the location is shared with his family, at no time did we feel uncomfortable - and we like privacy. We were provided all the private space expected.

The beach access is the main draw for us and it was additionally so with quite a few days of having the green turtle visit right across from the steps.

As well a sighting of a breaching whale with a show of an air blow - again it was a distance off, but view-able.

Running was tough along a busy main road, but worth it as a dip in the ocean after the run is sooooo cool.

Use of the BBQ was an added bonus as was sharing an early New Year eve with Roberts family including a fireworks show for the kids - lovely.

Foodtown, located near Sharks Cove, a shortish drive further down the coast, is probably the best place to buy your stock of food and drinks.

The week was all to short as we traded 27C for -7C.

Would certainly recommend this property if you want simple and relaxing.

Good for adults and especially for small kids

Bliss

What a way to relax. The surf lulls you to sleep at night & during the day I could just sit & watch it all the time. Sunsets absolutely magnificent. Turtles on the beach, wow. Swimming was good most days, when the big surf started it was a little wild but I was still happy to just get my feet wet. Town itself has nice little stores & we had no trouble getting anything we wanted. Spagettinis was good for a cheap easy meal if you don't feel like cooking. Sightseeing Waimea Valley, Sunset & Banzai beaches, Dole plantation even decided to be very brave & did a shark swim!! Would have been better if we had chosen a day when the surf wasn't up but still a great time. Well maintained unit fan & air conditioner work very well and well appointed with everything you need to be able to provide for yourselves. All in all I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. We are definitely planning to come back in the future.

Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Just spent two weeks with my husband. Location is perfect for a relaxing Hawaii experience away from the crowds. Beach is literally in the backyard. Room is small but well appointed. My only wish would be for a king sized bed, but the queen is very comfortable. Owners on property but there is plenty of privacy.

We saw turtles resting on the beach with incredible sunsets every evening. My husband spent hours in the ocean searching for sea glass and we came home with quite a collection. Haleiwa is only a mile away with many restaurants and shopping options, but arrive early before the shrimp trucks sell out. Recommend Cafe Haleiwa for breakfast and Big Waves for dinner. Malama grocery store is small but has a nice selection. We used the grill many times for an oceanfront sunset dinner. Wahiawa is just 10 minutes away and the Foodland grocery store is larger with better prices.

Wifi signal is strong, TV is large and the washer and dryer are handy. Air conditioner cools the space quickly.

We drove down to Waikiki one Friday evening for the fireworks Maitai Catamaran cruise. Very reasonably priced for a 1 1/2 hour cruise to watch the fireworks from the Hilton and around the bay...definetely recommend. Worth braving the traffic and the throngs of tourists, then returning to the peace of the North Shore.

Discovered that just down the beach was where the show 'Lost' was filmed. Vacation rental is 15ish minutes away from Lanikea, Waimea and Three Tables beaches, depending on traffic. Surf is a little strong for swimming or snorkeling at the rental, but good for wading and playing in the waves at the shore. Most days the beach was empty except for us.

Would definetely stay here again. Love the less crowded feeling of the Hawaii country.

Fantastic Relaxation, slept with the waves......

  • 5 of 5

What a place to relax and do nothing....this is what we did. Absolutely peace and tranquility abounds here. Haven't slept like that for ages. Going to sleep with surf in the background and the breeze through the window, wow. Enjoyed our little side trips to the shrimp shacks and Ted's Bakery along with the shopping in town. We saw turtles on the beach, seals and whales off shore. Every morning we sat by the beach with our coffee and watched the early morning surfers. Neal was exceptional, picking up some fish for us to BBQ and guiding us to the farmers market and teaching us about the joys of gardening and lawn care in Hawaii. We couldn't have been more pleased. We have stayed on North Shore a lot over the past 10 years and this will be our first place we come back to. See you next year Neal, Thanks.

Romantic getaway

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I had a specially comfortable stay on the North Shore. We were welcomed and the owner was particularly helpful with suggestions for restaurants and where to shop. He also offered us kayaks and paddle boards which we did not use. It was a most relaxing and comfortable place to stay! It was great to listen to the sound of the surf each night!

O'ahu Beach Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This studio was absolutely perfect! Beautiful location right on the Laniakea Beach. As everyone else has reviewed and we couldn't have hoped for a better vacation property for our trip. Joe and Leona were absolutely fabulous and very knowledgeable about the area. Joe was able to tell us many stories both present and past about O'ahu. This greatly enhanced our stay! Many thanks to both of them and their wonderful keiki. The location is perfect for travelling around the island. It's great to be able to drive only 30 minutes into Honolulu or Wakiki and then come home to tranquility and peace on a very private North Shore Beach.
