Family Vacation

Such a wonderful place to stay!!! Communication with the owner was fabulous. He made sure we had everything we needed. The weather was perfect. The kids caught all kinds of fish off the dock from the local fish, eels, stingrays, nurse shark, grouper, and barracuda. Crabs, tarpon, and tropical fish such as parrot fish could also be seen daily! They even snorkeled with the manatees which we saw almost everyday! We definitely will be back!!!!! Hot tub and pool was a daily thing. Can’t say enough about this place and location!

Great place to stay in the Keys

This place had everything needed for a great family vacation on the water in the keys! Rooftop deck was great! The hot tub and outdoor bar area added to the experience. The fishing gear provided was also a great benefit. The only negative was that it was almost impossible to park a boat at the dock due to the strong current, constant waves, and the tight approach to the dock.

Yellow Tail Villa

Great location, very responsive host, amenities galore.Our family of seven adults had lots of room to enjoy this wonderful property with fantastic water views. Everything we needed was close at hand including restaurants, beaches and entertainment. Can’t think of any downside to spending time here!

Best location ever!

What a great property! We loved every minute of our trip and especially the location and amenities of this Yellowtail VRBO. Our teenage boys sat in the hot tub nearly every night and watched a movie or some sporting events - they loved it! They also fished off the dock and caught some spectacular fish! So much fun! We used the grill, the kitchen, the roof fire pit for smores - it was all just perfect. The washer and dryer came in handy as well. No complaints here - this is an ideal spot!!

Hated to Leave

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here despite our unwanted guest - Hurrican Helene! The home was spacious and comfortable with a safe, convenient location. We'll definitely be back!

Yellowtail Villa

We had an amazing time at Yellowtail Villa. Everything was as described and exceeded our expectations. The helpful labeling and "friendly" reminders throughout were well thought out. Extra bumpers and fenders (provided) added to the ones we brought, and helped keep our boat off of the seawall and safe. It has been over 20 years since we last stayed at Marathon/Vaca Cut. Yellowtail feels like home

We trailered our boat down and docked in the slip. We could look out from the porch and see our boat- which is what we really wanted to be able to do! Matt was a fantastic host from the day we made the reservation until after checkout! He offered tips on great spots all over Marathon. Location is just north of Vaca cut so you have access to gulf or ocean. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back!

End of Summer Getaway

July is HOT! Had a fabulous time in the pool, on a boat or in the AC. Wonderful vacation spot and could not have asked for a better host. Matt was wonderful and gave us so many great recommendations.

Matt was a spectacular host with excellent communication before and during the trip. He even checked in afterwards to make sure we made it home safely! Our family loved the Yellowtail Villa! It was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. With three bedrooms we had plenty of room to spread out and have our own space. We tried several local restaurants including Sparky’s, Sunset Grille, Burdines, and Florida Steak and Lobster House which were all fantastic. The highlight of each day was going to the dock at night to see what sea creatures we could see. We saw things we have only seen in aquariums including an octopus, a horseshoe crab, angel fish, parrot fish, and eels. Our boys caught more fish off the dock than they did on the chartered trip we took. We had an amazing time and look forward to visiting again!

Perfect place

Everything was terrific, easy check in, was in communication with Matt a few times during the week and the place was very clean and exactly like the pictures. Good location that was close to everything in Marathon. Would definitely return if we were in Marathon again. We really liked how the place was organized and was the perfect set up for our family.

June trip in the Keys

Matt was the consummate host. Communication was perfect, and he was very helpful before and through our stay. We loved the Yellow Tail condo. The location in Marathon is very good. We liked that it had three separate bedrooms a good distance apart (each on a different floor) with their own bathroom. The rooftop and porch provided space to sit outside. My sons loved fishing off of the dock that is shared by the condos, and I loved cooling off in the pool. Our favorite restaurants were Sparky's Landing, Porky's Bayside BBQ, and Castaways. Each of these places is located on the water with a view. The pizza at Sparky's is very good and we did takeout from here one night. We also loved Conch Custard (very close by) for ice cream. Thanks, Matt, for your hospitality and for sharing your place!

Great location

Great location, great communication, and amazing views. Our family spent eight days enjoying our fourth Marathon vacation. This is not a negative - guest should plan for mosquitos around the hot tub, grill, and boat slip at night. This is all of southern Florida and NOT on the host. Great place to put our 24' center console and couldn't have asked for a better spot to enjoy all things Marathon.

Family Vacation

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We swam right off the doc and was able to see countless tropical fish, a manatee, dolphins, a stingray, and so much more. It was like swimming in a fishbowl! The house is very unique and has a comfortable feel we would definitely stay again. Only problem we had was master bathroom toilet did not flush well at all and really couldn't be used much.

Fantastic

This rental was fabulous. The sunrises and sunsets on the roof top are spectacular! It is in a great location. Two restaurants within walking distance. The pool is a little on the smaller side but we enjoyed it everyday we were there. There is nothing bad about this place. I almost hate to give a great review because then the secret of this gem of a place is out there. Definitely want to come back here again. Thanks Matt, you are a great host!

Everything you need is here!

What an amazing place. Everything was so clean! We arrived later than planned and the owner left lights on for us in the parking area. Had an elevator to assist with all our stuff. The two balconies are perfect for having dinner and drinks on. If that’s not enough, the rooftop access is the deal closer! Loved everything about the place. Perfect location, almost dead center of the keys, so you’re the same distance from Key West as Key Largo. We’ll definitely be back!

Perfect Vacation

Yellowtail Villa was a wonderful home for our vacation. The owner was extremely kind and responded promptly to any questions I posed. The house had everything we needed to make our stay in the Keys very enjoyable. The private community was quiet and we felt very comfortable the entirety of our stay. This home is perfect for a family or group of friends.

Family vacation

We are a family of 5, with three teen girls. We had an amazing week sunning ourselves by the dock and on the spacious roof deck. The house was quiet and comfortable with ample space for gatherings on the kitchen level and bedrooms on different levels to keep the kids from fighting over bathrooms etc. the carport space with hot tub was a hit and put to use most days, as were the supplies from the fisherman’s closet, which allowed for casting from the dock. The selection of poles was extensive enough to allow an adult and an 11 year old to have appropriately sized rods. The gas grill was in beautiful condition with a full complement of grill utensils. Similarly the kitchen was very well appointed with clear labels for where to find and store supplies. Steve’s crab claws were a highlight. There were essentially no negative issues other than a broken sliding door handle and missing umbrella, which were replaced early in the week in a remarkably professional and timely manner. Would highly recommend and will likely try to return next year!

Fantastic Family Vacation

We LOVED our time at Yellowtail Villa...it was the perfect base to explore the FL Keys and Matt was an exceptional host! We had plenty of space for our family of 6, comfortable beds and everything we could have needed. The recommendations provided by Matt were all great! We rented a boat and loved having one to explore...Matt made arrangements for us to use the neighbors dock space since they didn't have one this particular week. The current in/out of the dockage due to the proximity of Vaca Cut can be dicey getting in and out, but experienced boaters will be just fine! Our family truly enjoyed our stay and are thankful for all of the extra help that Matt provided prior to and during our stay to make it seamless for us!

Amazing place

Wonderful place to stay. Host is amazing, communicative and very helpful. Six adults very comfortably stayed here. Good location with a lot of fun bars and restaurants. Right next to the bike lanes. HIGHLY recommend and hope to come back

Great Vacation Spot

We enjoyed our stay at the Yellowtail Villa. The villa is well laid out with 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. There were six of us, so it was really nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. While at the villa, we especially enjoyed the pool, the tiki bar and fishing off the dock. We also went to Key West a couple of times, as it's just over an hour away. Sombrero beach is only a few minutes away and a must. Matt, the host, was super responsive and very helpful with recommendations and local connections.

Great family vacay

We had the best week at Yellow Tail. The villa is spacious, more so than I expected. The balconies were so nice to hang out in the evenings, especially the rooftop. Great place to watch fireworks. My kids caught all kinds of different fish from the dock. Pool area was nice. Met several different nice families. We rented a boat and hopper from key to key. Excellent vacation and Matt kept in touch with us to make sure our stay was going well. Definitely will be going back.

Sunrises and Sunsets

Matt's villa was exactly as described and pictures were accurate. The beds were all extremely comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, lots of linens, towels, extra pillows etc. The elevator made life so convenient with older guests and lots of groceries! Matt was always a text or call away. We were a big group from 18 years old to 80 and everyone enjoyed something. Fishing and sunrises right out back on the dock was a huge hit. The pool was never overcrowded. Lots of restaurants and stores in close proximity. The most amazing sunsets. 33rd street boat dock was so amazing to watch the sunsets from. This trip was a final wish for me to see a sunrise and a sunset on the same day. Bittersweet final vacation but I know my family, my wife and my children will return to this villa in the near future to celebrate my life. We made memories in a beautiful setting that I pray lasts them a lifetime. You will not be disappointed when you rent the YellowTail villa in Marathon. An easy 45 minutr drive to Key West. So many ammenities come with this house...hot tub, tiki bar, rooftop deck and hammock chairs! Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Tom & Christina

Living in the Northeast United States our family has visited the Keys for years....we loved it so much we finally decided to reach for our dream and buy our very own dream house on the water. We bought this property because we always wanted to be on the water and the ocean views at this property are just sublime! When we first walked up to the rooftop deck and saw the Gulf of Mexico, our kids said..."this is he place!" No other home we looked at could compare. The clear blue ocean water is why we come to the Keys and has always had a special allure for us. We are happy to share our special slice of Keys heaven with you.....you too will fall in love with the YellowTail Villa just as we did the day we first walked through it.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The high powered rooftop binoculars on the 35ft high party deck let you see miles out into the Gulf of Mexico......combined with a fire pit at night and night time star gazing, you will be in heaven at the YellowTail Villa. The Corona Relaxation Tiki Bar in the carport is our favorite hangout. While there is SO much to do in Marathon, we find just lounging around the YellowTail Villa from her rooftop deck to the tiki bar and all floors in between are the most enjoyable for us.
