A delightful cabin located looking down onto Alpine Helen, this two-story is ideal for an adventurous weekend getaway or family vacation. Above The Rest is an inviting place to sit back and rock on the porch or enjoy the relaxing hot tub, while also being close to Helen.

If you decide to head out to explore the area, you will find an unlimited number of activities to choose from for any age. The cabin s location is within walking distance from Georgia s first Alpine Coaster where you can glide through the lush mountain forest as fast or as slow as you want to go. Let the kids mine for gold or take them mini golfing with a sweet treat after. In the summertime, tub down the river or enjoy the Helen Waterpark. For the older crowd, enjoy the nightlife of Downtown Helen. After your busy day of adventuring, come back and enjoy the tranquility of Above the Rest!

Things To Know
This property is located on a short steep driveway. No long wheelbase vehicles like campervans or trailers. There is no way to turn around.
Vehicles with extra low suspensions may have an issue. Most other vehicles will be fine, 4WD/AWD vehicles should have no problem.
25+ age requirement for lead guest. No exceptions.

The cabin was very cute and perfectly sized for the three of us. The hot tub was a fun feature to jump in while the sun set. Nice linens and towels, and a full kitchen for cooking. The host was very quick to respond to messages and answered immediately when we called. I would just caution about the driveway. We were in a minivan and had trouble getting up and down. It rained one day and I couldn’t get up the driveway. I had to park until the rain stopped. The front end scraped when leaving the property no matter which angle I took. I’d recommend a 4 wheel drive car and don’t plan on walking to town if you have mobility issues.

Wish the fireplace was on. It was 41 degrees one morning in May. Also wish there had been instructions for hot tub. We accidentally put it in sleep mode and it dropped in temperature.

We really enjoyed the cabin. Unfortunately we couldn't get out much because of the rain, it rained every day we were there. All the plugs on the first floor need replacing, none of them worked except for 2. The microwave vent and the hot tub both need cleaning. We could only use the hot tub the first night as it stunk. Also the tv upstairs had a really bad connection, we could hardly watch any movies on netflix. One night we just gave up because it was taking too long, we ended up just listening to music on our computers.

I couldn't find the heater for the hot tub so we didn't use it. The host was very communicative. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The big thing I would suggest is to let people know that if they don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle they won't be able to get up the drive way.

The cabin was perfect! It was clean and with a great location. The downstairs shower had great water pressure. The views sitting in the hot tub or rocking chairs were breath taking. Only concern I did not read into as well before booking was the driveway. Definitely do not rent if low sitting car. And we used our 4 wheel drive suv and still scrapped the bottom. But we mastered it by the end of the stay.

I can’t say enough about the cleanliness of the place Above the rest. The person I had to call and find out a couple of things was outstanding. The food around the little town was amazing we only ate German food all weekend and liked it just because the restaurant is off the beaten path don’t mean it’s not good. Get out and explore it was amazing and we will be back.

The cabin is perfect! Great location with an easy walk to downtown (as long as you can handle the driveway up and down since it is a pretty steep hill). The cabin was very clean and the kitchen had all the amenities. We couldn't have asked for anything more awesome!
