About this property
Bluebirds Nest—10 min to town & Biltmore—sparkling well water—hot tub
Bluebirds Nest is a chic apartment perfect for two people. Its elegant and refined elements create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
It is in a great location in the country yet only 10 minutes from downtown Asheville, the River Arts District, Biltmore Estate, West Asheville, UNCA, breweries, shopping, hiking, rafting, golf, falconry, biking and more.
Park right outside your own private entrance to this charming place.
This spacious and bright apartment includes many amenities to make you feel comfortable and at home. You have your own controls for heat and air. Everything is immaculate. All bed linens are washed in hot water and sheets are ironed for an unbelievably comfortable and crisp feel.
Soak in the hot tub while enjoying the starry sky. It’s located on an upper deck outside of the apartment and has an amazing view.
The hot tub may also be used by a couple who might be staying in Robins Nest, our other apartment near Bluebird’s Nest. An open/closed sign is flipped by occupants to insure privacy. The hot tub is located out of view by either apartment.
Suitable for two adults, Bluebirds Nest has a bedroom, sunroom, full bathroom with shower, and full kitchen. The many large windows provide views of the woods and meadows and a beautiful wooded and private disc golf course. You may see deer foraging, bluebirds nesting, white squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, rabbits and pesky wild turkeys.
You will enjoy the peace and quiet, yet you have excellent free wi-fi, two large smart TV’s with premium channels.
This immaculate apartment is an open floor plan and rooms flow one to another, yet are separate and distinct areas. The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, luxurious linens, an armoire for clothes with hangers and full length mirror, two country French bergere armchairs with footstools, a large smart TV, bookshelves with hiking and local interest books, a desk, alarm clock, luggage rack, and also a closet for clothes.
The white-tiled sparkling kitchen is complete with a full refrigerator, stove, microwave, cooktop and dishwasher.
A stocked coffee/tea station is provided. Muffins and ham and cheese sliders are provided so that you can relax and enjoy a peaceful morning before beginning your day. Lots of kitchen cabinets and two industrial book shelves hold ironstone dishes, glassware, pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, ice bucket, picnic basket, and everything you need should you wish to prepare meals. Vintage and antique items belonging to my family are displayed. Some small grocery essentials for cooking, dishwashing supplies and linens are provided. Enjoy dining at the large Queen Ann table.
The sunroom is a wonderful place to relax with it’s glider rocker, loveseat, chair, side tables, and large TV. Take a nap in the afternoon sun or drop the solar shades to enjoy a cool sanctuary. A patio door allows a second entry to the outside areas.
The full bathroom is private and off of the living area and has a shower, sink, mirror, and commode. Fluffy towels, comfy robes, shampoo /soap /conditioner, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided. Outside seating/dining areas are right outside your door—one sunny, one shaded. A grill is provided for those evenings you wish to stay in. A wood fire pit ready to light is a cozy treat on a chilly evening.
Hanging baskets and potted plants give you the sense of your own private courtyard. Perhaps you will hear the musical notes of a guitar or banjo in the distance. My neighbor is a musician and practices on his front porch across the woods.
We live beside a beautiful 18 hole private disc golf course. One is beginner friendly 4000 ft course and the other championship level 7700 ft.
Direct flights into AVL airport on Allegiant airlines from many cities including Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, and many more.
Days are blocked between reservations. The apartment is meticulously cleaned between guests.
Nest security camera is located outside and monitors both entrances.
We have a pumping system that pumps wastewater up to the septic lines in the front yard. You will hear it when it empties about once a day.
I am a beekeeper with three sweet hives in the front away from the apartments. They bother no one but occasionally like to drink from the birdbaths. They do not come out at night.
People from all backgrounds are welcome to stay in Bluebirds Nest.
Cameras are placed to view entrance and driveway only.
We also have another short term rental—Robins Nest. It will accommodate two people and you might want to keep that in mind if you travel with another couple or Bluebirds is booked.

Fantastic amenities, friendly host, clean and had everything we needed. Not completely private due to nature of the property, but we found that privacy was not really an issue and owners were very good about maintaining privacy.

A very sweet and quiet getaway. Nicely decorated, spacious and super clean. Plus, fresh fruit and snacks in the frig. All around a great place and close to downtown.
Everything was so beautifully decorated and quaint. The host was so nice and showed us everything we needed for our stay. The hospitality was top notch.
Beautiful property just as described. Super clean and well stocked. Generous and delicious Continental breakfasts provided. We stayed for Valentine's Day and had fresh flowers and champagne awaiting us. Very happy with our stay and loved the hot tub.
Bet and Johnny have the most amazing little piece of the world in Asheville! They were both very accommodating and we had a great stay! The breakfast prepared by Bet was so yummy! Would definitely want to stay again!
Loved our stay. Honestly anything we could think of needing in our home away from home including scrumptious brekfast goodies to start off our day was included in this delightful spot. The location was gorgeous and close to both the DuPont Recreational Forest as well as to Pisgah National Forest. We had a fabulous time!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and wonderful hikes!
We visited Ashville for my 40th birthday and could not have asked for a better place. The apartment was cute and had everything we needed. The hosts provided the perfect spot for a weekend getaway, but we could have stayed for a week. We feel fortunate to have found the Bluebird's Nest and definately recommend!
We had a wonderful stay, Bet and John were awesome hosts. The place was clean and quiet with lots of space. Her breakfast was also a nice treat. Apartment was stocked with essentials and you can tell they really put their heart into it. Can’t wait to come back one day.
This is a perfect little nest. It’s close to everything without being on top of it. The apartment is so well appointed, it’s obvious Betty and John put a tremendous amount of thought into what people need and want away from home. My husband and I enjoyed our stay so much, I’m sure we will be going back.
We were very impressed with the apartment. Everything was just as you see it in the photos, clean, spacious, and neat. The food provided was perfect. This was a great spot for a weekend getaway, close to everything we wanted in Asheville, yet far enough away to relax in quiet comfort.
My husband and I stayed her for our anniversary and it was the perfect location to explore the Asheville area. The apartment was so comfortable and decorated perfectly! The only downside would be that the hot tub is not private, but we still used it and the owners were gone for the evening, so it worked out. We would 100% recommend and will be back on our next trip to North Carolina!

Thank you. We’d love to have you again!
We just opened up the hot tub for guests and will continue to improve the comfort of our guests and their hot tub experience. Thank you.
Great place to stay. The host, Bet, was excellent. My wife and I had an emergency at home and had to push back our trip by a couple of days and Bet was happy to accommodate our change in plans. The place was amazing and close to downtown. We highly recommend the Bluebird and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed having you and glad you enjoyed your trip to Asheville!
The location of the Blue Bird's Nest was very convenient to Asheville as well as feeling like a quiet rural retreat. The full-kitchen was marvelous and the provided breakfast meals plentiful and healthy. Details of the space--design, character, super-soft towels, linens--were very luxurious. I had a wonderful time.
I would highly recommend this spot. The views are lovely, the accommodations are exactly what we needed and it felt like a place you didn’t want to leave.
We even had a visit from the white squirrel!
The owners have everything you need at this great property. They really go out of their way to make you comfortable, from stopping by to introduce themselves to making sure there are breakfast sandwiches and fresh fruit in the refrigerator. Everything was very clean. We would definitely stay here again. The two apartments also “adjoin” if you’re traveling with friends.
My wife and I stayed stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. We felt like the owners had thought of everything to make us feel like home. Breakfast in the fridge, maps to travel the blue ridge parkway, reviews on local places to enjoy, games to play, and many more small touches to help. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay again the next time we are in Asheville!

We enjoyed having you! I make those ham and cheese sliders for Christmas morning for the family. I need to put that recipe in the black book.
This is an absolutely fabulous place. It far exceeded our expectations, especially the outdoor patio area overlooking "Mother Nature" at its best. The living area is spacious and just as represented. Bet provided an abundance of delicious breakfast goodies during our 12 days stay. I would highly recommend this wonderful place, and we plan on returning this fall.

My sister and I met in Asheville for a girls weekend and had the pleasure of staying at the Bluebirds Nest. The property is very clean and well maintained. There was fruit, muffins and quiche in the refrigerator when we arrived which was great! The house is in great proximity of everything that we wanted to do. We had a wonderful trip and would definitely book again!

My husband and I are natives of Asheville. We love this vibrant city and the beautiful mountains of WNC and love sharing our knowledge and experiences with you.
I am an artist/educator with a home studio. My paintings are in a gallery in the River Arts District at 310 ART where I have taught workshops. I would be glad to recommend sites and galleries to see while visiting Asheville.
I am a retired teacher from Buncombe County Schools. National Board Certified. I taught digital imaging, website development, and computer applications.
My interest in digital imaging led me into photography with the beauty of these WNC mountains and the people and their culture being my favorite subjects.
I come from a railroading family and Southern Railway/Norfolk Southern has been good to us. The railroad's history is tied to the River Arts District and I felt as if I was "coming home" when I became an exhibiting artist at 310 ART at Riverview Station.
My husband comes from a Coca-Cola family who pioneered Coke in the western most counties including Bryson City. His aunt married into the Granville Calhoun family and the old homeplace is still standing up Hazel Creek in the Great Smokies National Park.
I enjoy hiking and fishing but my waterskiing days are over! We especially like to spend long weekends at our houseboat on Fontana Lake with our family.
We have two wonderful daughters, son-in-laws, and three red-headed grandchildren!
We will be glad to share our knowledge of this area with you and make any recommendations you may be interested in.
Our style of hosting is very simple. We are here if you need us and want to provide you with the best accommodations possible. We want you to feel at home.
We invite you to stay with us and hope to see you soon.
