Why Joanne Gill 561-629-3402 chose Rutherfordton
Just fell in Love with this property and the Serenity it brings. Every time I look at those mountains and feel the peace of this home, I am so happy to share it. It's the perfect location. I get the best of everything here. I love sitting out on the swing with a glass of wine and reading or watching the sun go down over the Mountains. It truly is My Happy Place. I hope it can be yours as well.
What makes this House unique
When I purchased this property, I knew it was a solid home. It needed updating. I was able to see the potential this gem could be. It truly was a pleasure to repair, rebuild, restore and renew my Mountain Home to the Rustic Retreat I knew it could be.

My family had an AWSOME time the home is very well organize & eqipped.
We arrived on Friday afternoon it was very hot outside. The air-condition repair was there installing a new unit. We went out into town came back to a very comfortable home for the weekend. It rained the next morning, but there is a great game room in the basement! We enjoyed the morning playing games. The afternoon was sunny & warm. We went to chimney rock & enjoyed an afternoon of outside adventure & shopping. A great place to spend any extra time.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Quiet relaxing getaway for our family. A little more removed from town than we thought it was (everywhere took 20-30 minutes to drive) but peaceful and spacious. Kitchen was nicely updated and beds were comfy.
Thank you so much for your review. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay.
Nice home, plenty of dishes, cookware, towels, etc.
Our stay was 4 weeks. Our adventure begins. The road into the property is horrendous. Short, but one bumpy, wash-out filled mess.
My brother was the first to arrive and using the code provided, he entered the home and was promptly greeted by the alarm, followed by a Deputy Sheriff and the local contact for the homeowner's alarm company. The Property Management company neglected to notify anyone to turn off the alarm.
A garage is prominently pictured in the listing and my husband arrived with his motorcycle to enjoy some riding in the area. Too bad because the garage is not available to tenants. (perhaps that should have been mentioned)
The yard is overflowing with fire ant mounds and in ground yellow jacket nests. Unfortunately my daughter arrived around dusk, and exiting her car for the first time, was promptly stung twice. Then in her attempt to flee the yellow jackets she stepped squarely in a fire ant bed.
I arrived last, after dark, and my only issue is that the entrance to the house has a set of around 8 steps and no lighting. There is a light on the porch but it provides no light on the steps.
Once inside, the home is wonderful. The only 2 complaints inside are that the ice maker is not connected and the water in every shower shrieks when in use.
We didn't see the Deputy again, stored the motorcycle in our trailer, continued to avoid the insect problems and each carried a flashlight to navigate the steps since we left in the dark and returned in the dark each day.
Our instruction letter threatened a $50 fine for leaving any trash in the home and stated we were to use the outside trash cans but unfortunately there weren't any outside trashcans. Luckily for our wallets, we had a pickup truck and were able to haul our trash to a dumpster at work.
I've used HomeAway 6-8 times in the past and always dealt directly with the homeowner not a Property Management company. Going forward, I will deal only with owners directly. Even thru the rental process, the PM Co. did not respond to some of my calls and emails.
I let the PM Co. know my stay might extend for 2-3 weeks and it did. The day I found out we extended, I went on line and they had rented the home for 2 nights. So we booked our last 17 nights with another HomeAway property and are enjoying it and really like the interactions with the homeowners there.
