Come stay at Mountain Mc's. Let our large, fully furnished, 2 porch's welcome you. From the moment you step inside, let this Serene Oasis surround you with total relaxation. . We are Irish. Hospitality is so very important to us. We want our home to hug you with the breathtaking nature and serenity we have come to love. We look forward to hosting you, your family and friends.

In addition to the cozy living room, television with Basic Cable and DVD player and the custom kitchen... the main level of the cabin also boasts 3 Guest Bedrooms One w/Queen Bed/ One with Full size bunk beds/One Single bedroom along with a Double Vanity/ Full Bath with Tub/Shower combination for guests. Central Air & Heating.

The Master Suite w/ Queen bed and 2nd full Bath with Tub/Shower combination is on the opposite side of the house for privacy. Downstairs offers a great playroom for kids of all ages, with a Brick wood burning Fireplace, a Full-size Futon for additional sleeping. Darts, 3 game pool table, card table, bar and 3rd Full Bath with Tub/ Shower combination and Laundry.

Outside you can enjoy evenings on the huge deck. Take in the breathtaking mountain views, enjoy a barbecue and relax in the Screened in Dining area. So Peaceful.

Nestled in a country like setting but close to everything. Rutherfordton has the Beautiful Kiwanis Park that backs up to the Purple Mountain Greenway for hiking. Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village is a 12-minute ride. Asheville is 45 minutes. Black Mountain and Hendersonville is about 30 minutes. Tryon Polo is about 20 minutes. Close to Restaurants, Wineries, Hiking, Fishing, Zip lining and so much more.

Whether you just want to kick back on one of the porches, relax and enjoy the views, or stay as active as possible, this is the place for you. We are in the mountains without trash pickup. Please bring your trash to the nearest recycle ctr. on Rainbow Rapids Road. Thank you for your interest in our home.

The house was well-stocked with cookware, dishes, coffee supplies, and spices. We had to buy very little. Location was very quiet and we really appreciated the DirecTV so that we could watch TV without dealing with subscriptions etc.

Great family trip

We stayed here for a mountain family trip it was perfect for us after hiking or swimming whichever activity we did that day to come back to the house and relax and play boardgames with the kids they all enjoyed the game room plenty of activities nearby

We were in town visiting our grandchildren and their parents. The kids loved the pool/pingpong table. We spent hours playing pool. Even though it was pretty hot, loved sitting out on the back deck. Grandkids and I loved the screened in dining area ( we used the table to play uno and sorry). The beds were comfortable and showers were hot!! I can’t wait to rent again when we go visit!!

Peaceful getaway

Quiet relaxing getaway for our family. A little more removed from town than we thought it was (everywhere took 20-30 minutes to drive) but peaceful and spacious. Kitchen was nicely updated and beds were comfy.

So peaceful!

We stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was so perfect! The house was well supplied with everything that we needed, all we had to do was buy groceries! It was very cozy and peaceful. I can definitely see us staying here again in the future!

Relaxing weekend away

The house was beautiful inside and seemed recently updated. We loved the back deck with the screened in porch. The house had all the amenities we needed for the weekend. We spent Saturday enjoying the cute little town at Lake Lure. We had a relaxing wonderful weekend at Joanne’s house!

Perfect Getaway

The house was very clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. It’s located in the middle of nowhere but close to some cute towns and attractions. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax this is a great option!

Beautiful get away

My mom enjoyed her 65th birthday and it was beautiful. My kids didn’t like the bugs outside but that’s what you get from nature. The house was beautiful and well stocked with everything we needed for the stay. Game room was great and it was wonderful time spent with my family.

The property in general is great. House was extremely clean and organized. The kitchen needs to be upgraded with pots, pans and baking sheets. Also, the tenant should not have to take garbage to dump. There should be garbage cans to be used.

Great Family Home

We enjoyed our stay. My granddaughter loved the basement game room. And exploring the woods around the property. The amenities and things made available made preparing Christmas dinner easy and enjoyable for everyone. Only weird thing was some of the windows didn’t lock. Otherwise, this location was amazing! We would definitely book again when we come back to North Carolina.

Lovely retreat!

I brought a friend and four teenagers to this house for a retreat, and the space was perfect for us. It was spacious, quiet, and convenient with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms; it served us well. The beds were comfortable (except the futon downstairs; thankfully we had bet that it would not be suitable for sleeping and brought our own air mattress); the three bathrooms were a real boon; the living room was just right for devotions, readings, and movies, and we also enjoyed the outside table for our novel study. Cooking was quick and easy as well! Thanks for the lovely stay.

My family had an AWSOME time the home is very well organize & eqipped.

We arrived on Friday afternoon it was very hot outside. The air-condition repair was there installing a new unit. We went out into town came back to a very comfortable home for the weekend. It rained the next morning, but there is a great game room in the basement! We enjoyed the morning playing games. The afternoon was sunny & warm. We went to chimney rock & enjoyed an afternoon of outside adventure & shopping. A great place to spend any extra time.

Beautiful Balcony Views

We loved staying here. The home was large enough for our family of 4 and the yard was lush and green with great privacy. The price was great for the area and size of the home. The home is about 20 minutes to Lake Lure. Lake Lure has a ton of activities and we had an amazing time. A few things to consider when renting this place: The internet is very spotty and it was hard to work and have zoom meetings. I think this is standard for the area though, not something the owner can control. The yard is not flat at all. It is pretty steep in all areas. I was a bit disappointed by that as my girls could not really run around and do cartwheels etc as we had hoped. We did get a daily visitor from the neighborhood dog. He was kind and cute and we enjoyed having him hang out with us. The washing machine did ruin a few of our clothes so be careful what you put in it. It left white streaks all over our hiking pants, so not sure if it was just the material of the pants or what, but most stuff was ok. This house is very apparent that they have dogs as the hair is excessive. We vacuumed it up but it still kept coming out from all over. Not a super fan of that.

Why they chose this property

Just fell in Love with this property and the Serenity it brings. Every time I look at those mountains and feel the peace of this home, I am so happy to share it. It's the perfect location. I get the best of everything here. I love sitting out on the swing with a glass of wine and reading or watching the sun go down over the Mountains. It truly is My Happy Place. I hope it can be yours as well.

What makes this property unique

When I purchased this property, I knew it was a solid home. It needed updating. I was able to see the potential this gem could be. It truly was a pleasure to repair, rebuild, restore and renew my Mountain Home to the Rustic Retreat I knew it could be.
