Beautiful! Fun!

Perfect setting for a cackling group of women aged 45ish to 70ish. We laughed, kayaked, hiked and laughed some more. We highly recommend folks try out the Four Winds Retreat- retreat is exactly what it was!

Rustic retreat...

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay this past weekend. My daughter was getting married in Saluda so I rented this cabin for our out-of-town guests. Everyone raved about the comfort and cleanliness of this cabin. In particular, the large front deck overlooking the river became a popular spot to hang out to enjoy meals, socialize, and enjoy the view. The layout was ideal for a larger group (6 adults), beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms, AC, and mechanicals all worked to perfection. While we had no issues at all during our stay, I am confident given the responsiveness of the owner that any problems would have been promptly addressed.

During our stay we enjoyed many local attractions - the downtown shops, Green River BBQ, the Gorge Zip Line tour, the Biltmore house in nearby Asheville, and finally the lovely Episcopal church in downtown Saluda where the wedding took place. We are all looking forward to our next visit to Saluda and will definately stay in this rustic retreat again.

A great place for a getaway. We loved it

We had a great time staying at the cabin. The house itself was perfect for our group and had everything we needed. The location is perfect and beautiful. River access is easy and is close to many other outdoor activities. We will be back.

Nice Comfortable and Peaceful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this retreat to use as a base camp for our bi-annual Family Reunion which was in Flat Rock this year. We spent our time there on Fri down on the river and relaxing on the deck. Very peaceful and the sound of the river was fantastic all weekend. Our Sat and Sun mornings were spent getting our "vittles" ready to bring to the reunion and each evening grilling and relaxing. The kitchen and the accommodations were very nice and everything worked well.

The entire house was REALLY nice - much better than the pictures even show. The location is great and the scenery is awesome! There is a lot of tubing/kayaking traffic on the road on the weekend - but it is not a problem. The switchback road down from Saluda is not for the meek, but very well paved, and you'll want to limit the trips up-n-down. The locals said there was another "longer" way in from the other side, - although we never validated or tried it.

We all really enjoyed it and we would certainly rent it again without question. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Four Winds Retreat! The cabin was well stocked and clean. We absolutely loved sitting on the front deck listening to the river and enjoying the mountain views! Having access to the river just accross the street was perfect! My husband caught a few trout and my children and I enjoyed splashing in the water. In the evenings we had a great time playing the many board games available in the cabin. We found the cabin to be very spacious with plenty of room for myself, my husband, our 6 children, and both of our mothers. This is a wonderful place to go if you want to unwind and relax with your family!
