What a wonderful place to stay! We spent 4 days enjoying the beach, family, and the lovely space. The accommodations worked well, kitchen was well stocked, and the view was amazing. Access to the beach was a bit challenging for our older folk, but doable. I am extremely happy with my choice of a rental and would love to return.

Jurgenson Family Weekend

Our weekend in this home was magical; Watching the surf from the magnificent living room, preparing meals in a well equipped kitchen, exploring and learning about this historic house. We cocooned ourselves; playing games, eating, walking the beach, reading, relaxing. It was perfect.

Best week

This house is at the best location on the beach. You can see everything, it's awesome. We will be renting this house again. It's close to town, we walked there a few times and it's nice and quite. It made for the perfect week for me and my family

Beautiful home

This stay was so beautiful, only giving four stars because check in process was slow. Cleaning crew was not finished on time and went over my check in time. when they seen us they didn’t try and hurry, they talked a lot went in and out of the home in slow manner. We paid money for that home, to be there in a timely manner. With it being slow check in and having to wait past our time to get into the home was almost like losing money, and missing out on beautiful home. Besides all that the home was so beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

A relaxing place to stay

The house is fabulous! Great location, not too far from the town of Cayucos and the next town just a few minutes south. The house is spacious, plenty of space and storage in each bedroom. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets stored away. kitchen is well stocked with many of the things that you would need to cook. The dining room table is big enough to fit a large family. There is so much to love about this house. The garden area is pleasant, and access to the beach is easy for anyone who is comfortable with going down or climbing rocks. There are stairs to go down but then it gets rocky. Of course the best part of the house is the living room which has a fireplace (nice stack of firewood) and a grand view of the ocean. A very comfortable and wonderful place!

Best beach house!

We had 3 of our four adult children and two of our grandchildren stay with us. (9 of us total) It was a very nice home with the best panoramic views of the ocean and so nice to have private beach access and a lovely courtyard with grass and an outdoor setup for dining Al fresco.. The kitchen wasn’t stocked with regular cooking oil, olive oil or even a non-stick pan which was a bit annoying. We replaced garbage bags, ziplocks and had to buy dishwasher cleaning pods because there were only 2 upon arrival and with a large family we had lots of dirty dishes to wash during our 8 day stay. There was no bar soap anywhere for showering/bathing which really should be provided!! There were no beach towels either which would’ve been nice to know ahead of time. The weather was lovely and one day even so warm that the upstairs master bedroom got very hot due to an inoperable window which would’ve provided a cross breeze into the room. All in all we had a wonderful week despite the supply issues.

Love the views but cleaning/maintenance not so much

The home has the best views up and down the coast. It has well laid out floor plan and a great inside patio for kids and wind block. The deck was fabulous to be outside enjoying the surroundings. But... the home was very dirty. Entering the home the windows were clearly filthy and had not been properly washed in quite a long time. We found rat and mice traps set throughout the home and poison ant traps as well. The bedding smelled of other people, we washed all the comforters before using. Many of the windows do not work, upstairs fireplace not ok to use, downstairs shower/tub combo does not function as a shower. 80% of kitchen pots, plates, bowls etc all had to be cleaned before we used. They had food and grease and fingerprints. The screens on the sliders just fall off the tracks due to tracks filled with dirt. There was much more but I think I've expressed our disappointment. It is so unfortunate to visit a home that is clearly not receiving the attention it deserves. We paid a premium price expecting quality and care.

Nice Vacation

We’ve stayed here before and this house is always great. The location is absolutely amazing. This year we happened to be have our nieces graduation from Cal Poly during our stay and it was a great location to have our beach vacation yet close enough to travel to SLO and Shell Beach for our family festivities. We will definitely stay again.

Great home!

We had a great experience! Beautiful home. Only suggestion would be a TV in the front room for movies at night and the steps to the beach are a little rocky towards the end. Other than that it was awesome!

LOVED Everything about this house! It was perfect for our family! We celebrated two wedding anniversaries (one 9 years and one 39 years) and one retirement! Our three generations enjoyed this beach house immensely!

Wonderful experience!

Mesmerizing view from a nostalgic and beautiful home. This home was very comfortable. There is one bedroom (formerly an artist studio) that either you have to walk thru the garage or courtyard to access the rest of the house. Also only one full bathroom downstairs for all of the bedrooms. A little inconvenient, but sooo worth it!!

Not too happy...

Our stay was a bit dissapointing. The pictures of the house seem amazing. The deck and the living room is nice but that's about it. When we arrived at the property, we really had to air it out as insects were all over the place. The smell of the old wood with insects flying inside the house was a big let down. The power outlets in the dining room were not working. The house was pretty old inside and opening a drawer or cabinet was pretty sketchy like something might just jump out of it. Not to mention, the bbq grill was dirty. The best part of our stay was when the garage door decided to give up and our vehicle was stuck inside. This totally ruined our brunch plans with vacationing friends. The management company was ok and responsive but they can only do so much. Based on this past experience, we won't be staying at this property again when we return to Cayucos.

View is stunning

Cannot beat the location. Long walks we’re coordinated by the tide. Sound of the waves 24-7 will be missed. One of the most expensive ones we have rented but I’m sure we will return.

Stunning

Fantastic architectural funky beach house circa early 70’s. Living space with glass on 3 sides for maximum views. This is a real gem if you’re ok with funky, rustic and gritty. The place is all unvarnished wood so it’s not squeaky clean. It’s hard to deep clean a place like this. Personally we were just fine with this as all the plus’s far outweighed anything else. We loved the place and would love to return. If you’re a clean freak this may not be for you. Or if you’re a clean freak just think of this as the ultimate glamping! It’s a stunner!

Cayucos Dream Rental

This house is amazing. The house is so funky, we had a ton of fun exploring when we arrived! I have been vacationing in Cayucos since I was a kid, and this place is one of the last classic Cayucos houses. The view from the living room is UNBELIEVABLE. I have never seen a more amazing view from a property. Although I prefer to rent directly from owners, the management company for this place is great. Super easy to contact and friendly, with reasonable rules and check-out guidelines. The only downside I can think of is the kitchen in this house is super disconnected from the rest of the house. Not a big deal, but maybe not a great place to spend a ton of time cooking, as you'll be separated from your family (and that view!)

Incredible in all ways

The view and location are obviously incredible as they are both hands down the best in town. The house itself is an architectural experience that draws on the fantastic surroundings while also feeling like home. With the beach literally your backyard, cozy house with amazing views, and unique interior courtyard, there is little need to ever leave!
