A beloved Outer Banks rental, Sandcastle is conveniently located in Southern Shores, a short ride to Duck and Kitty Hawk restaurants and shopping. The funky beach decor gives this home a unique feel.
On the main floor, there is the living room/ kitchen area with a flat screen TV, 4 bedrooms (2 Queen, 1 Double and 1 with Twins) and 2 baths (tub and shower). On the lower level, there is a den with a futon, flat screen TV, full bathroom with a standup shower (no tub) and a laundry room. The downstairs area is not included in the sleeping space. Separate entrance downstairs. No interior stairwell.
Property amenities include CATV, internet access, fireplace, dishwasher, under the house parking, sundeck, enclosed outdoor shower, screened porch and laundry. Sand toys and some beach accessories included. Approximately 240 yards to the beach!

This was our second year staying at the Sandcastle with our two young kids and the property is perfect! Clean, easy beach access and very accommodating of the needs of a family - outdoor shower, games for rainy days and a very responsive host. 5/5 stars for the perfect vacation house!

Nice place just a short distance to the beach!! Also very close to Duck. Highly recommend trying Donuts on a Stick and walking the boardwalk.

The Sandcastle is the perfect cozy retreat for a week at the beach! On foot, the beach is about a four minute walk; on bikes, the ride takes a minute! The property is clean and the owner is lovely and responsive. :)

This was my family’s first trip to the outer banks and we will certainly be back! The house exceeded our expectations, and the photos didn’t do it justice. The bedrooms were exactly what we needed, the living area is centrally located, and the kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed and more. The beaches were pristine and not crowded at all. 10/10!

The house was great for the purpose of our trip, which was not to spend a ton of time in the house itself. We came for the beach and activities, the house was more for sleeping, breakfast and lunch! Super close to the beach, easy walk even with all of our stuff!!! The location relative to Duck was amazing, only a mile to get into town, so easy for walking or bike riding to all Duck has to offer. Also very quiet location, no heavy traffic, or anything. Peaceful!Check-in and out were excellent and easy, not a ton of requirements when you leave, which we appreciated. The home/property could have been a little more clean/maintained when we arrived. Basic items were done/cleaned, bathrooms were in great shape, but a couple pieces of furniture were broken (which we shared with the owner and they were super responsive over and thankful we reported to them) and the grill wasn’t cleaned out, and some loose fishing tackle was in the car port - some things that probably the last renters did not follow through on with their check-out process - unfortunate, but not entirely the owners’ fault by any means.Overall good experience, would recommend.

We already booked next summer at this gem! The location couldn’t be better. You can walk into Duck in under 20 minutes, the beach is a super short walk down the street, and the house has everything we needed for a great time.

Can't say enough good things about this property!!!

This was our 6 year staying here. My family absolutely loves this place. A very short walk to the beach, always clean, and the best is you have a traffic light to get out onto the main road. Such a short drive to Duck for the famous Duck Donuts. Will be staying here again.

My parents purchased the Sandcastle for a vacation home. We have enjoyed many years of our family being together on special holidays as well as for weeks in the summer. As we are now the owners of the home, we will continue offer a place where memories can be made!
