Living downtown Kona

We really enjoyed our stay. The first two days were rough due to extreme heat and no breeze but once the breeze returned, it was fantastic. Love listening to the waves and the views from the lanai. Close to Ohana, hiking, beaches, shopping, people watching, and fun.

STAY HERE FOR AMAZING OCEAN VIEW

Our condo was amazing and our view of Kona, sunsets, and views of the ocean were spectacular. The condo was accurately described and very comfortable. The pool and grill area was very clean and provided an excellent ocean view. The location was perfect for our needs with excellent dining and shopping. Our host John and Dee provided excellent communication and answered all our questions in a timely manner. If your looking for an amazing condo with ocean views and location, consider this amazing condo.

Everything we wanted and more!

As soon as we stepped through the doors, we were so happy with the condo! It is so rare to stay in a place that is truly more than we ever expected. From the snorkeling and beach gear to the fully stocked kitchen, we were accomodated in any need we had. The location could not have been better. It was so nice to enjoy a fabulous meal at one of the many restaurants on Alii Drive, shop a bit, and then take the (very) short drive to relax on the lanai or in the pool/hot tub. When we make our way back to the Big Island, we truly hope to stay here again. Mahalo for the perfect vacation home!

Condo needs major maintenance inside and out, uncomfortably hot due to inefficiency of AC set up. View was fantastic but couldn’t stay in the condo due to workers, literally, hanging into our lanai to work on the building, hammering and banging all day. No water, off and on, during our stay. Ice maker out of order, with a note on the fridge (who knows for how long!) Bare bones, inadequate suppliesI, paint peeling from the ceiling, I could go on and on, extremely disappointed, sorry to say. I’ve never written a negative review. I should have read previous reviews more closely.

Great location, price, and wonderful views!!

The unit has a fully equiped kitchen, and the owners have the hall closet stocked with beach accessories such as towels, snorkel gear and a boogie board. There is a great smoothie/sandwich shop just infront of the complex, and other restaurants are a quick drive away. The owners are extremely great at providing quick communication and the condo was exactly as described by all the reviewers. I can't wait to get back! Property was clean and well maintained. Kona is just a short short drive (or longer walk) up north and fun to explore. Drive to Mauna Kea was long, but definitely worth it.

Everything was clean and the view was incredible! However, this condo needs major updating, brightening up, and new towels and linens. Everything is quite dated but that view is amazing. We were thankful it was clean. Management was super nice and easy to work with. He is aware of condos needs, we just didn’t know this before booking.

The condo was in a nice location close to everything. The lanai had a nice view. Maybe it was just while we where there, but there where no trade winds. The fans did not cool the place and it got very hot. The only a/c is a portable a/c in the bedroom thats on a 4 hr timer, which is terrible when you are trying to sleep. The bed was also not very good. So sleeping at night was a chore. The unit had a very distinct odor to it as well. Took some getting used to. At least the view was nice and the location was good.

Great Balcony and Ocean front but needs updated.

The balcony makes this place! The waves are literally underneath you. This is a top floor (3rd) unit. The lower unit balconies literally get hit with sprays from larger waves crashing in. The roar of the waves can be heard from inside the condo. The rest of the condo could use some love. This is an older unit so it doesn’t have central AC. It does have 2 portable style that are effective but take up space in an already small space. The bathroom could use a complete makeover. The patio door and windows are really thin and not very sound proof so you will hear the waves and the setting sun will make the room hot. We enjoyed our stay and the balcony and location makes it easier to overlook the rest. There is nothing wrong overall it just needs updated for the price (granted we stayed during the holidays which I am sure inflated prices).Easy access, good communications. With some makeover this place could be amazing

Ill keep it simple… view was as described but many things need updates.

We had the opportunity to view many other units as we were there with a large group for our wedding. Other then the view and nice shower ours was considerably outdated compared to others for a less price who had a view as well. Things to notate. Slider to lanai is HARD to open. Ladies if you have nails don't try. Takes two hands and some muscle. The screen is falling out of one window and there are slots missing from the bottom so can't keep open. Ceiling fan in bedroom sounds like it might fall off. If you're staying for a week and are like is, we don't like to live out of suitcases. No dresser except for a small old one falling apart in the closet which was full of bedding. We did move the bedding so we could use partially. However, it takes up the whole side you only have access to so any long dresses there is no room. In other words my wedding dress had to be stored in someone else's unit. Because it would have wrinkled up at the bottom since it couldn't hang pass the dresser occupying the space. The ice machine was full when we arrived but never made any ice (yes the bar was positioned correctly) I understand from the reviews now reading further the owners only come twice a year but should have someone check out more Frequent. Just very outdated for our taste. Again, view was amazing but for the price and compared to other units we viewed and the price they paid… we will read the review more thoroughly next time.

The condo is as advertised, ocean front and the views are amazing as are the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks below. You'll love watching the sunsets, dolphins and whales (when they show up) from the lanai. We arrived at the condo just after 5 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 25th to find that it had not been cleaned from the previous guests. It's very disappointing to have to change sheets, clean the bathroom, do dishes, etc. Kyle Cunningham never replied to our email and didn't provide his phone number. I was able to get ahold of the house cleaner and she was very apologetic and explained she was not informed that there was a back to back reservation. She did bring some supplies over that evening which was nice and she did clean it Sunday morning but we had to be gone while it was cleaned. At the very least Mr. Cunningham should have replied to my email and it would have been nice to have our cleaning deposit refunded for the inconvenience. Some other things to be aware of and have been been mentioned by others include: The bed. It's terrible. There are two large body sized divots that are impossible to avoid. You will naturally roll into them. The bottom line is that the mattress is worn out and needs to be replaced. The AC works fine and we only used the bedroom unit to cool off the bedroom before going to bed. It is on a 4 our timer and it is LOUD. If you like white noise then it won't be a problem. We never used the AC unit in the living area. The main TV did not have a remote and we could not turn it on. I don't recall any reviews mentioning that this is a third floor unit and there are NO elevators. Not a big deal for us but it could be for others. The pool is small, no kids toys allowed (common at most condo's) and it has a wall that prevents any view of the ocean when lying on a lounger. There is no small ice chest for use at the beach or day trips. Pros: Great Views, very close to town, all appliances worked, convenient parking, beach chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Sea Village. Bien situé, près des commerces et à une heure de distance de plusieurs destinations à voir sur la côte ouest de Big Island. Le vue à partir du balcons est magnifique. Le son des vagues qui frappent les rochers est omniprésente. De notre balcon, nous avons vu une raie venir se nourrir et des bancs de dauphins Merci à toute l'équipe de Sea Village Tout est propre et bien aménagé et tranquille , La piscine avec vue sur la mer est un plus .

Beautiful View and Great Location

This condo has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Kona. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, utensils, cookware, containers and spices. There were cooler bags, ice packs, beach gear and plenty of pool towels. The view is amazing and meals on the lanai were a treat. Having the ocean right outside the door was very soothing to listen to at night. The air conditioning units provided cool relief for sleeping at night. Overall, it was very enjoyable to stay here and I recommend it!

Fabulous Oceanside Condo

Totally beats the resorts. Almost on top of the water. Loved listening to waves and watching dolphins play in the ocean. Easy access to Kona central. Parking was totally available. Homey feeling in condo. Loved it!! Only downside was the number of, and amount of extra fees on top of rental price. Would totally stay here again.

The owners description is honest.

Tastefully decorated, quiet oceanfront condo. From the lanai we viewed beautiful sunsets, spinner dolphins and a whale flipping his tale. This property has a nice pool and hot tub. The location is close to beaches, restaurants and shops of Kailua-Kona. We would stay here again.

On arrival, the unit was spotless and exactly as described. We were hoping to be a bit closer to town but we used the town shuttle rather than drive as parking in town is hit and miss. We saw whales every day and spinner dolphins on several days, right from the lanai and without needing the binoculars. Thanks for everything!

Sea Village is a great complex (this was my second stay at Sea Village, first at this unit), and this is a very nice unit within it. The view is perfect, just as in the photos. There's nothing between you and the water, listen to the waves as you go to sleep, perfect! I chose this unit because it does have the option of air conditioning, but we didn't end up using it at all. We were fine using the fans and leaving the windows and lanai door open to get the breeze. We stayed in the winter, not the summer, but the weather was in the low 80s outside and we were comfortable within the condo. Everything inside the unit was in good condition except for a troublesome spot on the popcorn ceiling that dropped some white material down onto the rug. The bed has some dips in the memory foam but it's not bad. As with any condo that provides "extras" for your convenience, don't count on them as a previous renter may have jacked it up somehow or straight ran off with it. I couldn't find a cooler anywhere. Or a coffee grinder, but it wasn't a big deal, I just bought a new one and left it there. So anyone renting after November 2017... buy your delicious Kona coffee whole bean! Grind with freedom! Coffee maker that was provided works just fine. The washer and dryer in this unit is small so don't overload it, but both the wash and dry cycles are very speedy so you can probably bring half the clothes you think you need! Laundry pod type HE soap works great so that you don't have to worry about over loading the washer, which is plastered with warnings about how Pele's wrath will rise against you with the white hot fury of 10,000 burning suns if you bust the washer with your over enthusiasm for soap, or the wrong choice of soap. This unit is really nicely located. The main shops and restaurants of Ali'i Drive are about 1 mile away. If you're walking at a pokey pace it's probably 15 minutes. I recommend walking when you can, because parking at peak times down there is bananas. The only downside to this stay is that the permanent resident neighbors didn't like us! I heard the woman complaining "LOOK AT ALL THIS MUD THEY TRACKED UP HERE!" and then heard the man saying "WELL THEY'D BETTER GET OUT HERE AND CLEAN IT UP!" We had not gone anywhere muddy at all. All shoes were clean. I went outside anyway to search for this mud and I couldn't even find a mess to clean up. They gave us the stink eye for the rest of the stay, and did make us feel like an imposition.

What a spectacular view of the ocean!!!!!!!

You sent a message12 hours ago Kyle... As we are ready to move on to next island, our first trip to Hawaii and our first stay in Big Island was a good move, without a doubt a spec liar view of the ocean, right after in front of the condo. Wow.... Very comfortable place to stay!!!!!! Mahalo..... Definitely, we would give this place high 5 stars, will return and recommend friends. The downside are: 1. Need blind in the patio. Afternoon sun make room too warm! 2. Master bedroom mattress, definitely, need to be replace. It cause my back sore in the am!!!!! 3. TVs... We were not able to watch any shows, only one channel! We were not able to figure out with 2 remotes. Suggestion...put instructions on how to use tvs remotes and list of channels available in the blue book. Again, Mahalo for letting us to stay at your place. Such a gorgeous place to stay, we loved it!!! Terry & Nyla Hostin"

We fell in love with this unit and the Big Island while on vacation with no intentions to purchase anything! After visiting all the other islands, we quickly noticed that 'The Big Island' is not crowded and commercialized like the other Hawaiian Islands. Kailua-Kona is still quaint and beautiful which we loved. Plus we felt that The Big Island has to offer what all the other islands have to offer wrapped all in one island. It's hard not to fall in love with the REAL HAWAIIAN feeling and beauty. So, my husband and I were walking down Alii' Drive and stopped to 'just look' in the window of a Real Estate agency. To my surprise, my husband walked in and said I want to buy a condo on the ocean in Kona!!! The rest is history...... We have the best view and are the closet to the ocean that probably the Island has to offer. Our view is used for MANY other advertisements. What more can I say???? We fell in love...
