About this property
Book both of our lodges and have a family reunion in Yellowstone!
Yellowstone River Lodge 2 is a hand built log cabin adjacent to listing #89227. There are 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a walkout to river and a deck overlooking river. It has a big, open kitchen with center island, (great for gatherings), gas fireplace and central air and heating. The lodge is available year round and is handicap accessible and perfect for large groups. We handle all of our bookings-no property manager. We look forward to hearing from you !
We are located on the Yellowstone River, 10 miles north of Gardiner, MT- the oldest entrance to Yellowstone Park. This is a beatuiful and convenient location for visiting Yellowstone Park and the surrounding area. There are many other activites to do and see in the area such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, river rafting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and hunting. All of these activites are available in the nearby upper Yellowstone Valley.
This area is a beautiful place to visit any time of year. Winters in the Gardiner are usually pretty mild. The road through the northern part of Yellowstone to Cooke City is open year round. The most scenic part of the Park offers unlimited wildlife viewing, particularly of elk, bison and the famous Yellowstone wolves. There is snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the mountains above Gardiner, Cooke City and in the Park. Downhilll skiing is also available nearby at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky.
While we do have a no refund policy, we do always try to work with our guests. We will give you a refund If we know far enough in advance and are able to rebook your dates. We will also give you a refund If Yellowstone Park is closed for any reason during your stay with us. We highly recommend that you buy trip insurance as a precaution for the possibility of a natural disaster, such as the unprecedented flooding we had this year. We are also willing to transfer your deposit for another date within the next year, if you need to cancel. The reason we have this policy is to discourage cancelations a week or 2 before their stay. Then it is hard for us to rebook. Big groups usually book far in advance to get a place and dates that can accommodate their group.
If you don't see the dates you want open on our calendar, feel free to check out the calendar of our other lodge, also located on this same property, vrbo listing 89227. It sleeps 18, has 7 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms, front and back decks, overlooks the river and 3 fireplaces.

About the host
Hosted by DruAnn Robidou

John and I lived in the Gardiner area for 46 years, raising our family here and working in the outfitting and ranching businesses . We have 6 kids and 18 grandkids. In 1996 we sold our outfitting business in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness area near Gardiner and purchased a guide territory in Northern British Columbia. We spent our summers and falls in B.C. for 11 years. In 2006 , we sold the guide area and purchased a ranch where we now live, raising cattle and hay. We enjoy spending time with our family and taking horse pack trips. I am also an avid quilter and scrapbooker. We built this lodge in 2006 and love sharing it with guests that come to visit our beautiful Yellowstone area ! John and DruAnn Robidou
Why they chose this property
Our property is a great place for a family reunion, girls or guys getaway trip, any kind of craft or writers retreat, weddings and wedding receptions. Our lodge sits on 7 acres , overlooking the Yellowstone River, is roomy and we have a big yard to enjoy after a day in the Park. We also have nice decks on the front and back of the lodge to relax on. It is a great location , being only 10 minutes from the north entrance to the Park at Gardiner, the original entrance to Yellowstone . You have the privacy of being out in the country, yet the convience of a short 10 minute drive to begin your adventure in Yellowstone !
What makes this property unique
Obviously our location to Yellowstone and being able to accommodate bigger groups are our biggest benefits. There is also world class fishing just out the back door on the legendary Yellowstone River, along with white water rafting. The scenery is awesome, whether you are seeing it from your car, our deck, hiking some of the many trails in the area or from the back of a horse while spending an afternoon with one of the local horseback outfitters in the area . If you need more space , we have another log lodge located on the other edge of our property, that sleeps 18 and between the 2 lodges is a great place for family reunions. With the big yard , horseshoe pits between the 2 lodges and a covered log pavilion, there is lots room for kids to run, play games and folks to gather. We have hosted several reunions, retreats and weddings. We have extra tables and chairs available and will do all we can to accommodate your group. Staying with us, you will see why they call Montana, the "Last Best Place !"
