About this property

(42R) Rosenberg's Creekside Cabin at The Redwoods In Yosemite

Rosenburg's Creekside Cabin is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that sleeps up to 6 guests. With multiple skylights and walls decorated with Yosemite photographs, drawings, and maps, the cabin is bright and cheerful. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything essential for cooking and dining, including a dishwasher. The home also has a washer and dryer. The living room has a gas fireplace, flat-screen satellite TV, and WiFi plus plenty of books, games for all ages, and a computer & printer. Window coolers have been installed for those summer days when it gets quite warm. This home overlooks a seasonal creek that flows strongly in the spring. And the very large deck is perfect for relaxing in the sun, along with a stand of lovely pines. As summer moves in, the splash of the creek subsides to a murmur to accompany the bird song and the occasional viewing of deer, making for a very relaxing and refreshing experience. About the Area

Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second-highest vertical-drop waterfall in Yosemite) and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup basketball game at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails, or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park! The history village is filled with docents, stagecoach rides, horseback rides, and barn dances in the summer season, and the Wawona Meadow Loop offers year-round riparian meadow wildlife viewing.
Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). It is entirely within Yosemite National Park (it preceded the park's founding as a national recreation area) and is on the South Fork of the wild and scenic Merced River, along the main highway (State Route 41) from Fresno to Yosemite Valley.
Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch, which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (the Wawona Hotel). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station.
The Redwoods in Yosemite have over 110 vacation rental homes and are proud to say that all of them are located in Wawona. All are within walking distance to everything that Wawona has to offer, and every one of them is surrounded by the majesty of Yosemite National Park!

The cabin was in a very nice location 0.5 miles from Wawona Falls and next to a small store that provides fresh produce and wine. The cabin was fully equipped but wasn’t as clean as I expected and for the price I paid.

Stay in Yosemite

The house was pretty nice with some minor annoyances. The area was perfect and staying inside of Yosemite National Park was a major plus. There was no worry about reservations or waiting in line at the gate to get in every morning.

Does the job for a short trip to Yosemite

Overall, the house did the job of what we were looking for, and we appreciate that. It was stocked with necessities to cook meals. But it’s worth mentioning that although our reservations were for six adults, there was not enough toilet paper, which is not a problem you’d expect to have for the rental cost. The thermostat wasn’t working properly to regulate the temperature and the hardware was broken on one of the showers making it difficult to use. Lastly, the bed mattresses were very old and squeaky. The place was fine for a short stay.
