Come relax at The Lookout. It is a heated year-round house on 1/2 an acre of land with views of Harpswell Sound. We are situated in a peaceful neighborhood with a specious, grassy yard for outdoor picnicking. It is also great for the children to run and play.

Indoors we have all the comforts of home. A fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining room, and a comfy family room. There is a heated, enclosed porch to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the sun rise over Harpswell Sound or perhaps enjoy a meal on the porch as twilight arrives. We have three fully furnished bedrooms with ample closet space in two of them.

We are approximately 20 minutes away from Cook's Corner where you can stock up on supplies. We are 15 minutes away from Brunswick with many fine restaurants and 20 minutes away from the outlet shopping in Freeport, home of LL Bean. Brochures are available at our house describing other interesting activities in the area. Come be our guest and discover the beautiful Harpswells of Maine.

About Diana StPierre

My husband and I live in Ct. His family is from Maine and always summered in Cundy's Harbor. He grew up vacationing in Maine and when we started a family, we also vacationed in Cundy's Harbor at the family camp. As our family got bigger we needed more space so decided to purchase our own summer home in the area which we love.

Diana StPierre purchased this house in 2008

Why Diana StPierre chose Portland & Casco Bay

We love the rolling hills as you drive off of Route 123 and the stunning ocean view you get as you turn the corner and head down the road. We picked our place because of its homey feel, the nice yard for the kids to play in, and we love the neighborhood.

What makes this house unique

The Lookout is our home away from home, We love sitting on the enclosed porch, having breakfast, watching the sun rise over the water, and listening to the lobster boats chug along as they head out for the day.

Charming cottage with beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at The Lookout! The owners have thought of everything, the older kids loved the movie and game selection and the little kids loved turning the porch into their play area. Plenty of beds and seating for everyone, lots of cookware and dishes, great yard to run around in and a picnic table for outdoor dining. Make sure you take advantage of it's central location and hit all of the preserves and coves around the area, Harpswell Land Trust has a great map you can pick up, Pott's Point was lots of fun for exploring, climbing on the rocks, and beach combing, Stover's Point was better for a beach like day. We had a great time and can't wait for our next trip.

Cozy House

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Lookout. It was more than enough space for our family of 5. The house was clean and well maintained though a bit dated. The views from the house were spectacular. We visited Freeport and Portland without any issues. Freeport was about a 30 minute drive away. We also visited Brunswick which is about 15-20 minutes away and there was quite a bit to do there. Overall we would definitely recommend this house to friends. If you are looking for a cozy and quiet getaway without luxury trappings, this is the place for you.

Delightful and charming!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the Lookout and were delighted with the house and it's warm, knotty wood rooms. My teens were especially happy to have the attic "bunk house" to themselves and the grownups enjoyed the other bedrooms and their views of the water.

Fishing was a major activity and we visited a number of places in Harpswell, Bailey's and Orrs island including Lands' End, the Giant Steps, and the docks near the Mitchell Bandstand (the latter proved to be the best location).

One night we ate at Estes Lobster Places, loving the lobster mac and cheese. Another night we bought lobster and crab from Quahog Lobster and enjoyed a dinner at the picnic table.

It was great to have an equipped kitchen and on-site laundry. One day we enjoyed a game of croquet on the lawn.

Lovely, quiet neighborhood with easy access to The Vegetable Corner, local convenience store and Wine and cheese shop. What more could you want?

Perfect rental

  • 5 of 5

My wife and kids and I were very pleased with everything at this charming home. We gorged on fresh blueberries from the bush in the yard. The owners were quick to respond to all our inquiries and were quick to mail back our deposit. Everything was clean. We were close to whale-watching and local lobster dinners and shopping in Freeport and eating and lighthouse visits in Portland and close to the museums at Bowdoin. Thank you to the owners from our family.

WE LOVED IT HERE!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in June 2011. The pictures do not do this home justice! It was lovely and had everything we could need. The view was a huge bonus! I loved the yard with its blooming peonies. It is so pretty here and far enough away that you feel on vacation but close enough to town for everything you need. We enjoyed all the area has to offer. This was our first visit to Maine and even though the weather was cool and gray, the Mainers smiles lit up our vacation! We took a drive up to Moosehead Lake and got to see Moose. We went to Portland for a Lobster fest and enjoyed that too! Brunswick and Bath have great restaurants and are wonderful for evening strolls. Popham Beach was beautiful. Harpswell is GORGEOUS! You could easily spend weeks just exploring the area. The Lookout has so many games and DVD's to choose from for your down time. This is a quintessential Maine cottage with cedar shake shingles and vintage kitchen cabinets. The bedrooms are so cozy and quite ample for a family which included 3 boys ages 16, 14 and 11. Highly recommended! Dianna was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We hope to visit again!

Lovely place in Harpswell

  • 5 of 5

We were all delighted with our stay at the Lookout. This is an area that is quiet and charming. It is old school Maine for the most part, though a pop over to Baileys and Orr's Island will indicate a more tourist based environment when the season arrives. We visited Portland as well, though the rain kept us from really touring shops and all. We did have a great lunch at DuckFat and highly recommend it. We also tried to support local business by purchasing our wines and beer at the Black Sheep Wine Shop (though very small has a tremendous selection of interesting and unique items) and the corner market nearby. The Lookout offered us a very pleasing and comfortable place and were very happy with our experience. Also we received back our security deposit promptly, which is no small thing. My experience in contacting and arranging for the time was easy, efficient and we look forward to booking the place when we next find ourselves in this area.
