Direct Gulf Front Home, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 5.5 Baths, (Sleeps 15)
Day Dream is a large professionally decorated 5 suites/5.5 bathroom Gulf Front home located in the Dunes gated subdivision in Fort Morgan. You will love our local amenities: 2 pools, exercise room and hot tub. Everything is so close by and convenient. The pools are only 50 yards from the house and the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico only 45 yards away. The board walk right off the deck makes the beach access easy and convenient for everyone.
Our immaculate home was designed to welcome everyone. The elevator makes it easy to transport your luggage and groceries and it comes handy for those that might need extra help going up and down to the beach. It is worth noting that the entryway from the parking level to the main level of the home is NOT ventilated so it may be stuffy and there may be sand on the carpet in the closets which house beach toys. This is a "blowout" area (designed to be washed out if a storm ever reaches that level) and not part of the living area.
Once you enter the main level of the home, we have thought of every detail to make your vacation enjoyable and stress free. We provide several amenities for children such as a Playstation, high chair, bed rail, booster seat and beach toys. Please rinse off beach toys before storing.
The adults fare even better. We have plenty of sitting space in the living room to enjoy our 42” plasma TV. The kitchen is fully accessorized with dinnerware, a dining table that seats 10 people + 4 bar stools. Additionally an array of small appliances will make your stay easy and convenient.
Our five suites will allow you to enjoy much deserved rest after a full day at the beach. Two of our 5 bedrooms are Gulf Front. There is also an upstairs gulf front deck which is accessed from the breezeway (This deck is NOT accessible from the bedrooms). Our sleeping arrangements are flexible and will work for most groups, we have: 4 king size beds, 2 twins, 1 day bed, 1 roll away bed and 3 sleepers. All bedrooms feature a TV + DVD player.
Although a captivating and relaxing home like ours is all you need to hang out with family and friends, we understand that sometimes turning off completely is not possible. Bearing that in mind we also offer you with Wireless High Speed Internet.
To top it off, the proximity with the water will allow you to relax and marvel over the simple pleasures of children’s laughter, friends’ chatter and the dolphin choreography you can often observe from our Gulf Front decks. Your vacation at Day Dream will be unforgettable!

Great for a Family Vacation
Our family had a wonderful week at this property. We tend to cook most of our meals, and the kitchen was very well equipped with pots, pans and cooking utensils. The dedicated icemaker was a great "extra" for a beach vacation. The elevator was great to assist the handicapped in our party, and it was a pleasant surprise that the downstairs half bath was handicapped accessible. However, be aware that the master shower currently is lacking handicapped bars. It is very close proximity to the beach - the public ramp is just two beach houses away, so that is very helpful for the older crowd as well. Be sure to bring an umbrella for the back porch, because the sun is very bright and the porch is not shaded! As far as assistance goes, the property managers were fabulous before AND during the trip!
Upon arrival to the home, the house was completely unsecured and the lockbox was unable to be opened. Once we determined how to use the elevator, we discovered that all keys were on the kitchen countertop.
The downstairs area and staircase smelled of mold and mildew and there were several areas in the home, specifically closets, that has black molded areas in the ceilings.
The living room furniture had tears in the upholstery and felt as though you were sitting on springs. The mattresses were not very comfortable, especially the twin beds.
While we know the salt sea air wears on properties, there was a great deal of maintenance needed on the exterior. Some of the exterior doors would not even lock.
For the cost of this property per night/week, there should be at least some hand soap and dish soap in the kitchen. Be sure a grab all you need at the grocery store...toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, bath soap, etc., etc.!
Two pluses; elevator for our elderly mother and proximity to the beach.
If we revisit Fort Morgan, it will be at a different home.
Excellent Beach Trip
We have a group of 5 couples that take a beach trip every year. This home was perfect for our needs. It was clean, spacious, comfortable, and directly on the beach. Every bedroom had its own private bathroom, which is a must-have for us (but usually hard to find). We only used the elevator to get bags to the third floor but it is a great feature. Enjoyed everyone having a place to sit around the dining table where could dine while we took in the spectacular beach views. We loved the location but it is about 25 minutes from town (ie, major grocery store), so stock up. Fort Morgan is about a mile away and makes for an excellent afternoon outing. Gulf Shores Marina which houses a great restaurant, Tacky Jacks, is across the street from the subdivision. We didn’t charter a boat but it’s available from the marina.
Minor issues include: 1) when all the women were drying their hair at once, preparing for dinner out, the circuit breaker tripped. We called the management company at 6 PM on a Sunday and they instructed us how to reset the breaker. 2) hot water in half of the house wasn’t working which we later discovered was likely due to tripping the circuit. It was resolved by maintenance pressing a reset button on the water heater. 3) grill is functional and we used it several times, but it has seen better days. Obviously our trip was fantastic if these were our biggest/ only issues. We highly recommend Day Dream and have already secured it for next year’s trip!
It worked for us seniors!
My group consisted of 10 people in their 60's and 70's. We wanted a house with an ocean view, close to the beach, bedrooms with private bathrooms and an elevator, all of which this house has. Most of the mattresses were good, with the exception of the twin bed mattresses. The house was one of the closest to the actual beach access. The property managers were extremely good to work with, going out of their way to be helpful. Could this house use some maintenance? Definitely. It has wear and tear issues, BUT, it is a beach house, and that fact alone accounts for some of the issues.
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to seeing you again next season!
Nice home. Lots of great space. Some maintenance needed.
We loved the number of rooms and bathrooms this home offers! The location is also nice. We did have a few concerns that were addressed During our visit .. Light bulbs out, broken light bulb in socket of elevator, air filters in great need of being replaced ( filter in living room black with large hole), clogged drain in downstairs shower, leaky faucet in master, ants in cupboard. We sincerely appreciate these things being taken care of! Other items that need addressed are: mattresses worn out, AC in master seems sluggish, porch loungers need replaced, wooden porch needs some maintenance (My father stepped on a nail on upstairs porch), doors are very difficult to shut ( likely due to moisture and temp.), dryer does not shut off when opened (could be child hazard), The large open dining and living area is great. The grill worked well ( after we cleaned it)! The master bath is large with jet tub and large shower. Ice maker in kitchen is wonderful! Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Christmas Vacation for the Family
We arrived at the property on December 26, 2015. I take my children and their families every year during that week to celebrate Christmas. The worst thing was the sheets had not been changed. My daughter-in-law is very germ conscious and she always pulls back the covers even in hotel rooms. When she did she found a small plastic child's toy between the sheets. So she pulled those sheets off and washed them. So we thought one bed was overlooked. Then my older granddaughter went to bed and found a price tag from a shirt size large from Kohl's. It was not ours and it was between the sheets. So we pulled all the sheets off all the beds and washed and dried them and put them back on the beds. This took quite a while. Also, the pictures on the website are not accurate. Something must have happened to the two sofas in the pictures because the sofas in the house are really bad. The springs are so bad you cannot sit there long. The ice machine does not work. The elevator gets stuck sometimes. One of the deck chairs fell with me in it and I hit the deck. There are no pictures to tell you that you do not have straight access to the water. There is some sort of preserve right in front of the house and you have to walk a boardwalk in front of other houses to get to the beach. Upstairs the two bedrooms facing the beach have doors that have been sealed shut and the door handles removed. The windows have been sealed shut. So if you had any idea of hearing the ocean while you are in the bedroom, it doesn't happen. Also, if it should rain a lot while you are at this house, you may not be able to get to town. There is a low place in the road that flooded while we were there. There are even signs along the road to beware of flooding. The realtor that I rented this from said she would refund $150 for our trouble. She has not and it has been almost three months. I rent a house on the beach every year and I have never had this many problems with a house. I definitely won't be going back to this house and probably not to this area. I believe from now on I will stick to Gulf Shores.
Across the street from the Gulf Shores Marina with bar, restaurant, shop, rentals and deep sea fishing excursions. 2 miles from the Fort Morgan Ferry and multiple restaurants.
