About this property
Westside Spot! Hot Tub+Big Porch w/ Enclosed Yard+Pets OK
**Blue Bird Cottage!!** Pet Friendly and Hot Tub!
Located right in the heart of Northwest Bend in the middle of it all, just a short walk to the river, Downtown and Old Mill, so many great restaurants, and the Mt Bachelor shuttle. We are right off Century Drive- the road that goes right up to Cascade Lakes Highway and Mt. Bachelor. Nicely furnished with all high quality bedding, newer organic high end comfortable mattresses, full kitchen setup, large pine dining table, central gas heat, big back porch with patio set and BBQ and hot tub, fully fenced yard for the kids and pets, washer and dryer, and air conditioner in Summer. We are on a nice quiet street. The bathroom has been newly remodeled in June 2021, a ceiling fan was added in the primary bedroom in 2023, and a new dishwasher in 2023. The house is a historic 100 year old Old Mill Home that has been remodeled and updated and up to code. Please note it is not a new modern home but it has charm and uniqueness that comes with history. It's not perfect but everything works great and it is comfortable, clean and very cute. We have families that return year after year because they love it and call it home for their vacation. The kitchen is in a retro 50's decor, from the red vinyl flooring to the red laminate counters and vintage 50's stove. The stove is unique and we chose to keep it because it matches the decor and actually works quite well. The stove tops turn on with the knob but to light the oven there are clear instructions. It can be intimidating the first time but it is pretty easy and works great! For entertainment, the cottage has a wonderful private deck with patio set and umbrella in a fully fenced backyard where you can gaze up at the night sky or bask in the sun and relax after a day of skiing, riding, or playing all day in the outdoors. There is a hot tub available all year round. The hot tub cover needs to be pushed over onto a rail which can be a little hard for some people, but everyone seems to figure it out without much trouble. The cottage also features 3 bike cruisers, wireless internet, Roku with Netflix on large flat screen television, DVD player with movie collection (or a Red Box just down the street). The back deck is wonderful and relaxing in the warm summer days. In the Summer months there is a portable air conditioner in the living room and bedrooms. There are a bunch of board games for the kids and adults, and some toys for the younger kids. The washer and dryer are in the basement. Please note there are stairs into a basement under the house and it is unfinished but fully functional and orderly. It hasn't seemed to bother anyone yet, but I like people to know! The information folder in the cottage has sections on great restaurants with maps, outdoor activities, where to food shop for groceries, hospital info, a kid section, pet section on local dog parks, and much more. The gate into the property feels narrow but so far all cars, trucks, sprinter vans have fit in it just fine. It just takes a bit of careful driving to fit through. The Gate closes so that the yard is fully fenced. Baby and kid friendly - crib, highchair, bathtub, stroller, baby/toddler hiking pack in basement ready to use. There are three great parks with playgrounds within a short walk from the house. The large information folder in the cottage has a huge section on kids activities including maps to all the parks and stuff to do in Bend with kids -we know since we live here with young kids!
Pet Friendly- The yard is fully fenced, there are dishes for the dogs, a bed and a section in the folder for the dogs! There is a great off leash dog park on top of Overturf within walking distance- about 7-10 min walk, with a map and directions to it. Also the folder describes the other close dog parks and off leash areas.
The cottage is located 3 blocks from the River, a short walk to Downtown and Drake Park and Old Mill, a 1 minute drive or 5 minute walk to the 'Park and Ride' Shuttle to Mt Bachelor, and 30 minute drive to Mt. Bachelor.
Owner may come on to property to service hot tub if guest is staying longer than 2 nights. Owner will message guest to get permission to service hot tub but if there is no reply we will knock on the door and if no one is home and the car is gone we will service it. It is usually a quick process and guests are not disturbed.

We had a great stay! Loved that it was close to everything, had an enclosed yard for our dog and got to relax in the hot tub after a long day. Highly recommend.
My husband and I wanted a little weekend getaway with our 6 month old, and this house was perfect for us! Not having to bring a pack-n-play was a bonus. It's a cozy, sweet little house, and it had everything we needed-including coffee. We walked to our favorite breakfast place, Victorian Cafe, as well as 10 Barrel and tried out the sour dough pizza place on the corner (all walking distance). We didn't utilize the hot tub this trip, but it was nice to have the option! We were very happy with our stay:)
The location can't be beat. We were able to walk everywhere while we were here; restaurants, coffee, parks, and Hayden Homes concert venue. Cute and quiet too.
Great location! Home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Very accommodating to dogs. Would highly recommend a stay at the Bluebird Cottage.
The house is adorable with vintage mixed with modern decor. The owners provided everything you could think of for pet accessories to toiletries. The backyard was lovely. The house is located within walking distance to many good breweries and coffee houses. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a terrific stay! Clean, comfortable and cozy. This house is in the best location and had everything we needed for a girl’s relaxing weekend. Can’t wait to stay here again!
Excellent location, walking distance to river, Bend, Old Bend and Old Mill District. The home had so many things for us to be comfortable like supplies, necessities and even items for our dog! The outdoor space with table, umbrella, yard and hot tub were a total highlight of the home as well as AC inside.
Cute little cottage with lots within walking distance! Great that you can fully enclose the yard for pets and really appreciate the owners getting us the bikes that were still in storage due to the cool weather. Would definitely stay again:)
We had a great week at this property! Walked to restaurants and dog park daily. House was clean and host/Lisa was responsive and very nice! Will come back!
We loved our stay! A great comfy space for my fiancé and our pup. Everything was nicely set up and organized for us when we got there. The property is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. Would definitely stay again!
It's a charming house with and older style kitchen that we liked. It's small but cozy. The yard and the hot tub really rounded it out. Look forward to returning sometime soon.
More than anyplace else we've ever stayed, the host made a noticeable effort to think of everything folks might need. The location is amazing. We walked to meals 3 times and could have done more, walked to the river, walked to two different parks, and were near the hwy to get to the Cascades and Tumalo. Fantastic stay. Thank you!
I needed a few days to unwind in a cozy spot and this was it. From being greeted on my arrival by a friendly neighborhood cat, to the clean interior, well stocked and decorated space, and the amazing hot tub, I felt comfortable and at ease my whole stay. I highly recommend.
Very nice bungalow. Well appointed. Appreciate the real kitchen knives for food prep. My dog loved to lie down in the grassy back yard since we don’t have grass up in the mountains of Lake Tahoe where we live.
Really cute house in Bend. I was able to walk to restaurants, EV charger, river park and some excellent gelato. TV was set up for Netflix. Kids loved the double bunk beds. Owner was extremely communicative about anything I needed or improvements that could be made.

Cozy little cottage
I just recently spent 8 days in Bend and stayed here. A great location, laid back, clean, comfortable & had everything I needed. My sons who live in Bend also stayed a few nights. A great option for out of town family! My dog was also very comfy & it was nice to be able to bring her. I look forward to my next visit to Bend & the Blue Bird Cottage. Located in a friendly neighborhood, close to everything!

Thanks for the wonderful review! It was great meeting you. Take care!
My family (myself, my wife, our 16 year old son, and two dogs) loved or stay here. Cute home, quiet residential street but also easy walk to many restaurants/coffee shops/etc. I walked to downtown one day--20 minutes, or can take one of the provided bikes. Kitchen is well-equipped. Fenced yard great for dogs. Owner was easy to communicate with and super helpful.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa
Hi there! We are Jeb and Lisa with 2 kiddos and live in Bend next door to the Cottage. We have lived here a while and bought another house on our block to have as Bluebird Cottage. It is great for us because we can have our family stay there or rent to out to other folks. We have met the most wonderful people who have stayed at Bluebird Cottage and really enjoy providing accommodations to travelers. We are avid outdoors people and enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, paddling, rock climbing and backpacking. We love Central Oregon and hope you come stay at our wonderful Bluebird Cottage!
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with the Old Mill Historical homes when I moved here. They have a wonderful history, great charm, and the perfect size for a vacation home. We also live in a remodeled Old Mill home on the same block and love the street and the neighborhood. It is close to everything to walk or ride bikes or to drive up to Mt. Bachelor in less than a half hour.
What makes this property unique
It is very close to Drake Park where all the festivals happen each summer. But far enough so its no too loud at night that you can't sleep! It is a few blocks from the beautiful Deschutes River and Columbia Park, Overturf Park, Harmon Park and Drake Park with playgrounds at three of these parks. There are pubs all around to walk to including 10 Barrel and Goodlife and Cascade as well as Deschutes Brewery where they do tours. Downtown is within walking distance and many great restaurants. In the Winter, the Shuttle up to Mt Bachelor is a 5 minute walk and the cottage is a few blocks from the main road (Century) up to the mountain. It is on a nice quiet street, great neighbors, and still close to all the many great places in Bend.
