About Lisa

Hi there! We are Jeb and Lisa with 2 kiddos and live in Bend on the same block as the Cottage. We have lived here a while and bought another house on our block to have as Bluebird Cottage. It is great for us because we can have our family stay there or rent to out to other folks. We have met the most wonderful people who have stayed at Bluebird Cottage and really enjoy providing accommodations to travelers. We are avid outdoors people and enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, paddling, rock climbing and backpacking. We love Central Oregon and hope you come stay at our wonderful Bluebird Cottage!

Lisa purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Lisa chose River West

I fell in love with the Old Mill Historical homes when I moved here. They have a wonderful history, great charm, and the perfect size for a vacation home. We also live in a remodeled Old Mill home on the same block and love the street and the neighborhood. It is close to everything to walk or ride bikes or to drive up to Mt. Bachelor in less than a half hour.

What makes this cottage unique

It is very close to Drake Park where all the festivals happen each summer. But far enough so its no too loud at night that you can't sleep! It is a few blocks from the beautiful Deschutes River and Columbia Park, Overturf Park, Harmon Park and Drake Park with playgrounds at three of these parks. There are pubs all around to walk to including 10 Barrel and Goodlife and Cascade as well as Deschutes Brewery where they do tours. Downtown is within walking distance and many great restaurants. In the Winter, the Shuttle up to Mt Bachelor is a 5 minute walk and the cottage is a few blocks from the main road (Century) up to the mountain. It is on a nice quiet street, great neighbors, and still close to all the many great places in Bend.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed in March at Bluebird Cottage. We had the best time and it was in a great location. It is on a quiet street but really close to a lot of the great places to walk to in Bend. The bed was really comfortable and the whole place was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a little hot so we called Lisa and she came right away to turn it down a little and then it was fine. Overall 5 stars!!

Perfect for our ski weekend! 2 bedroom 1 bath house with nice hot tub.

  • 5 of 5

Great find and price! We loved this place! The house is vintage charming, not modern but very cool! My husband and I stayed with our dog. The yard is fenced and secure. The second bedroom has a queen and bunk bed above it. This is a great location to get to Mt. Bachelor! We didn't go out for meals but plenty of restaurant choices near by.

The hot tub is right off the back bedroom and easy to use.

You can park in gated yard next to the front door so unloading is easy.

Great house for small family and close friends.

The kitchen is fully stocked.

Easy check in.

Don't pass this one up!

Excellent Location

  • 4 of 5

This property was wonderful, it had everything we needed. And the owners were very communicative and quick to respond when we had a question. We were delighted to see instructions for the hot tub and television, although we didn't even turn that on. When we walked in we thought it was so sweet to have a dog towel, dog beds, and dog dishes laid out for our pups. The fenced yard was great for our them as well. It was a snowy weekend, and she had ice melt and snow shovels available for us. The house was quaint and clean. And we wished we were there in slightly better weather, because there were bikes available and it is in a wonderful location, close to so many great restaurants and easy access to heading up to the mountain, where we hiked and snowshoed. Chow was very close, and was delicious. We also enjoyed drinks and appetizers at Good Life Brewery. The day we planned on skiing, most of the lifts were closed and so we stayed in and hot tubbed and called around to try and find someone to give us pedicures. Face to Face squeezed us in and were wonderful to us. We enjoyed sushi at Five Fusion that night and really enjoyed that dining experience as well. It was easy to get down town, and out of town, from this location. We would certainly stay here again.

Awesome place and walking distance to downtown and other areas

  • 5 of 5

My family visited for Thanksgiving, and the cottage slept 4 of us very comfortably. The hot tub was nice, and it's walking distance from a lot of restaurants, bars, and parks. I would definitely stay again!

Simple stay in Bend!

  • 5 of 5

The price and location of this house can't be beat. For those looking for the newest, modern rental house...this isn't the spot. However, for couples or a family looking for the simple and clean amenities of a cozy home, this house was great! Very easy to get into the house and communicate with host. Also loved (and our dog loved!) the dog bed provided in the living room, as well as the dog bowls for food and water. Kitchen was well stocked with necessary tools and basic ingredients. Our group has already discussed staying here again!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have had a better experience staying at this house the week before Christmas. Lisa was so easy to work with. We arrived just after a big snowstorm and she sent along some important info to make things easier for us. The house is perfect for a couple or family-clean, well supplied, comfortable and a nice hot tub to jump in on the back deck after a day of skiing or snowshoeing. The location in Bend could not be better-so easy and fast to get to the mountain or Cascade Lakes. Breweries and restaurants within walking distance and downtown less than 5 minutes away by car. We've stayed at a lot of VRBO properties. This is why we keep coming back. Great stay!

Had everything we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our two little boys and dog came for a long weekend visit. The house had everything that we needed and was a great location - easy walking distance to everywhere you'd want to go. Parking was easy, both in the driveway and on the street. Really nice to have a washer and dryer and everything worked great. Looking forward to staying here again in the summer where we can enjoy the wonderful backyard and deck.
