Simple and quaint, this studio in the heart of downtown Castine is perfect for a vacationing couple! This vacation rental is located in a converted home that it shares with three others (all four can be rented together by an extended family or a group of friends). You'll have a full kitchen for easy meal preparation, use of a shared, furnished deck on sunny summer days, and board games and beach towels for your amusement and convenience.

What's nearby:
This charming getaway sits on Main Street in the historic heart of downtown Castine, just a quarter-mile east of the Maine Maritime Academy. You'll be within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and dozens of historical markers in town. Other nearby attractions include the beautiful and tranquil Wadsworth Cove and Backshore Beach (one mile northwest), as well as the Castine Golf Club (half a mile north) which is open to the public.

Fun and historic

This was an awesome converted colonial house, that was literally a 3 minute walk to the bay. It was snug but had basically everything you could need for a rental. This was a great area to walk around and to take in the sights. Super quiet neighborhood. Only thing was it was rather hot during our stay so our room became stuffy and warm but enjoyed our stay nevertheless.

Long curtains shown here were not there. Short curtains insufficient. Light on at night let people see in. No reading lamps. Water stank badly. Check that out! We loved the location and people there working on other units were friendly.

Bright and airy

The space is small but pleasant overall. The bathroom is especially small, with a rather tight shower. The weather was unusually warm when we arrived, but open windows and a fan made the room pleasant enough. The location in Castine is very convenient, with a short walk to everything.
