My wife and I loved our stay at this property. Very clean, quiet and fully stocked. We really enjoyed our early mornings and evening walks to discover Carpinteria and downtown area. Lovely small town. Would recommend to visit The Spot burgers and the Brass Bird Cafe. Can't wait to go back!

Great Condo, Exceptional Location 1 Block from Beach

Just a wonderful experience. This place is located directly next to the Carpinteria Salt Marsh and one block to the beach. Clean comfortable beds and bathrooms; great kitchen, too. Excellent host. Love this place.

Excellent stay: quiet and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location near the beach and walking paths was great. Parking on the street was easy and access to restaurants was a plus. We will definitely consider renting the apartment again next time we visit Carpinteria. Thank you!

Fabulous Place

This place is as advertised. Spotless!!! The cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at. Well appointed top notch furnishings. It had everything and such a quick walk to the beach or downtown. We loved it. Highly recommend.

Beautifully Decorated Apartment

I stayed 5 days at Tropical Shores and it was relaxing and restful. My apartment, #12, was beautifully decorated and just tranquil. Tropical Shores is just steps from the beach; it's just the perfect place to come to be close to the beach and still have quiet.

Beautiful apartment 1/2 block from the beach

It had everything you could possibly need. Newly decorated and in a perfect spot right off the main street. It doesnt have air conditioning but it wasnt necessary. Very safe area.

Great location and a lovely place

You couldn't ask for a better location. Steps from the beach and walkable to many dining options and other activities. The place itself is newly remodeled. It is extremely clean, very comfortable and quiet. Mike and Elena are wonderful hosts. They are super responsive to any questions that come up. We look forward to coming back!

Luxury Beach Vacation

This property is amazing for its proximity to the beach. It is also a luxurious apartment to stay in. The kitchen and baths were especially beautiful. Everything was super clean and very comfortable for our family. The owners were wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend them. I can't wait to go back again next year, if not sooner!! Carpinteria is a great place to visit and this apartment is the perfect spot to enjoy it from!!

Close to beach, comfortable beds and clean property.

The property was as promised. It was clean when we arrived. Coffee and some condiments were provided. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and cookware. This is a quiet community and all the front doors/windows face a small courtyard and each other. Short walk (under 5 minutes) to the beach. Saltmarsh right across the street was neat and we got to see several sharks and stingrays swimming below the bridge. Beach is sandy but there is a lot of seaweed in the water(this beach more than others). I recommend bringing a small bottle of baby oil to remove any oil that may stick to your feet. Although the owner did provide oil removing disposable cloths, I liked the smell of baby oil. My son and husband wore wetsuits as they found it more comfortable if they were in the water for extended periods (several hours) otherwise water was great. My only con is I wish there was a dry push mop or standard broom to clean the floors as they did get very sandy. There is a broom and dustpan set but at 5'6 I was too tall to comfortably use it. I would recommend this property and stay here again.

Great Place!

Very nice property with new fixtures and amenities. The best part is the proximity to the beach and restaurants. Dog friendly, kid friendly. Very nice place to unwind with the family!

Carpinteria has been our family's favorite vacation destination since I was a small child in the 1950's. After several years of camping at Carpinteria State Campgrounds, our parents decided to build Tropic Shores Apartments and make this our second home. A few years ago, our parents both passed, away after a full and long life, leaving Tropic Shores to the four brothers, Tom, Richard, Mike, and Jeff. Since we all feel a very special connection to Carpinteria, we decided to remodel the building from ground up, and keep it in the family for our children to enjoy.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Tropic Shores is a small building of 16 units, all located with a center courtyard of lush landscaping...some of which were planted by our father over 50 year ago. The building is very quiet and your are sure to find it easy to relax and re-energize. While we're not right on the beach, we are located so close that you can hear the waves crashing at night. 200 steps and you're on the sand. Directly across the street is the Carpinteria Salt Marsh, which is basically a bird sanctuary. You may enjoy quiet walks through the Salt Marsh watching for birds or other animals while watching the sun rise or set.

Carpinteria is one of the las remaining small beach towns found during the mid 1900's, essentially unchanged over the last 5 or 6 decades. It's a town where you may feel safe allowing your children to walk or bicycle through town on their own. Named "The World's Safest Beach" because of the protection of the Channel Islands, the surf rarely gets very large...but still large enough to enjoy the waves. When you're ready for something more exciting, there are dozens of wineries, golf courses, movie theaters, and restaurants in nearby Santa Barbara and Ventura.
