Why Teresa Hulst, Owner chose San Francisco Bay Area

I have been living here since 1993. One day I met my husband at the front door on what turned out to be a blind date. It was love at first sight!

We hope you enjoy staying in our very special 'love nest' while we are traveling. Everything has has been lovingly renovated and decorated.

I love it here and I hope you will too!

What makes this condo unique

The condo is situated in an ideal area between the city of San Francisco and the county of Marin where there is much nature and wildlife. It is fantastic to wake up and ask, 'do we want a city day or a country day' and make your plans accordingly. Take a ride to the Wine Country, the Coastal regions with spectacular beaches or have a sophisticated museum and sight-seeing tour in 'the city' as the locals call it.

The Bay Area is famous for food & wine. You will never be disappointed with whatever cuisine you choose with influences from the Pacific Rim, Mexico, France, Italy and of course, 'California Cuisine' rich with fish, fruits & vegetables and usually organic. Shop at 'Whole Foods' for a wonderful California experience, located just 10 mins from the condo in the relaxed town of Mill Valley surrounded by Redwood trees.

For days when you just want to stay local, everything is within walking distance. Enjoy Caledonia street where the locals shop, eat and relax at cafe's. There is a movie theater, a park for kids, a yoga studio, famous Sushi Ran, hip Cafe Cibo, Driver's Health Food Market and the marina full of boats.

Not to be missed is 'Angelino's' Italian Restaurant on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the city. Browse the galleries after dinner as you stroll home. Perhaps rent a boat or take the ferry and go out on the bay? Remember to dress warmly mornings/evenings and enjoy brilliant hot sun during the day.

For a quiet day in, I would recommend a walk on the hill followed by breakfast at Cafe Cibo, buy some groceries and then home for a nice relaxing bath. BBQ outside in the garden or cook in our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. In the evening enjoy free movies or play video games on the Sony HDTV by the warmth of the fire.

Whatever you do, you are guaranteed to enjoy this delightful area with so much to offer for every person's taste. We wish you much Joy & Happiness during your stay.

Teresa

Teresa,

We are back home in St Louis, but I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay.

The condo was more beautiful than the pictures.

Very modern and well maintained.

The pastry basket was delicious and a welcome surprise.

Thank you,

Harrison House was the best and most fully stocked rental we've had the pleasure of staying in. From the fully-stocked kitchen to the quality linens to the robe and hair dryer in the bathroom, we had everything we needed. The large binder of information Teresa left was also very helpful. The condo is beautifully decorated with nicely updated bathrooms and kitchen and we snacked on the treats from the basket all week.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Teresa's mom, Irma, as we arrived a few minutes early. She was lovely and welcoming and showed us where everything was in the condo. Teresa was extremely easy and pleasant to work with, very responsive to questions, etc.

All in all, this was a great rental experience. Thank you, Teresa!

Lovely, very conviently located Sausalito apartment

  • 5 of 5

Harrison House is beautifully and very comfortably furnished, with lots of light in every room and spotlessly clean. Teresa was a joy to work with--thorough, prompt and very thoughtful. There was a wonderful basket of goodies when we arrived (fresh fruit, baked treats, coffee beans and tasty granola). We especially enjoyed the big picture window filling the living room with lovely morning sun and providing a constantly changing view of Richardson Bay and the city. Downtown Sausalito and the ferry terminal are just steps away and it's an easy drive to the bridge and into San Francisco. We'd definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

Loved EVERYTHING about Harrison House from the moment I stepped inside this absolutely gorgeous slice of heaven on earth! The entire place was clean as a whistle, the decor is divine, the views are incredible (even during inclement weather), the kitchen is well stocked (thanks for the goody basket!), the beds are super comfy, and Teresa is a sparkling gem of a hostess! I am truly grateful for having such a fabulous home to stay in while visiting with my family in the bay area. My sister and I will definitely be back!!!

Great Location- Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

This is beautiful condo with just about every amenity you could want. A lovely welcome basket with baked goodies, coffee, and granola were waiting for us upon arrival. A great kitchen, comfy beds, and a cozy fireplace for those chilly evenings all added up to the perfect week for my husband, our son, and me. Sausalito, like the rest of the Bay Area is built on some rather challenging hills. Getting to the condo can be a bit nerve wracking if you aren't used to navigating narrow, steep streets but it is worth the trip. It an easy walk to downtown Sausalito but careful how much you drink, it's a steep climb back up the stairs! It is also easy to walk to the ferry and avoid the hassle of driving into San Francisco. A short drive north takes you to Napa and Sonoma and to Muirwoods. We very much recommend a stay here!

Very nice place!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was very nice! There was a good amount of space for our family of four. Furnishings were great. Location was very convenient, whether hanging around Sausalito or going into the city or to the wineries. Oh, and the welcome basket was so appreciated! We would love to stay here again when back in the area!

Sausalito. Worth the visit!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed September 22nd through to the 27th...weather was seasonally high in temperature and beautiful for tourist type adventures. Overall a positive rental experience.

Rental Pro's

-great space, very welcoming on a quiet street.

-a very nice pastry basket awaited our arrival.

-comfortable beds with all of the home comforts.

Rental Con's

-unit AC struggled to work effectively and did not offer any relief during our stay.

-parking on the street worked out well. Driveway parking was not possible with our rental as the SUV bottomed out based on steepness of the driveway.

-ensuite bathroom window exposure made for an uncomfortable experience. Window treatments are required unless you want to be an exhibistionist.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed exploring our surroundings. Our first VRBO experience will not be our last.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. Sausalito is located on a mountain with superior views of the surrounding bay. It is a quiet, private, wooded neighborhood with hardly any foot traffic and it is silent after dinner until well after 9am. As you can see from our photos on the website, there are no window treatments in the home, except in the bedrooms. In California, this is quiet common, as it affords spectacular views, in our case, of Alcatraz, San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and beyond. The rear of the house is surrounded with trees and a fence and a hedge. Very private. We also have a very private walk-in shower at the condo, which you clearly did not use? Further, we offer a free parking pass to all of our guests, which is stated on the website, due to the steep driveway. We also mentioned this to you again in our first email exchange, as well as in the Rental Agreement you agreed to and in the documentation that is left at the condo and in your app. Not sure why the steep driveway came as a surprise? Thank you. Thank you for letting us know
