About this property

A Magical Getaway with Alpacas

Less than an hour from Fort Worth and Dallas you will find a magical retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, situated on a 32-acre family-owned, working alpaca ranch. Our 2BR/2BA guest house is private, clean, and spacious and has all the amenities you need to truly relax, enjoy the fresh air, and savor the peace and quiet.

Just steps from the front porch of the Guest House are acres of pastures where our 50+ alpacas spend their days grazing. Our “moms and babies” barn is up the hill by our main house, where you will also find our turkey, roosters, chickens, and hens. Scarlett, our beloved black Labrador, roams the property and will surely greet you at some point during your stay.

Also up the hill, behind our private home, we have a resort-style pool, which we make available to registered guests from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily (in season). The pool overlooks our back pastures where our moms and babies frequently roam in the afternoon. We also have a creek and pond where you can fish, weather permitting.

During your stay, we invite you to take a farm tour to get an up-close-and-personal experience with our award-winning alpacas. We love sharing our knowledge of the breed and their place in sustainable ranching. We will walk you through the barns and let you feed and take photos with these beautiful and captivating creatures. We guarantee you will fall in love with them too!

We invite you to shop in our store as well, which features hundreds of alpaca products and gifts. We sell rugs, yarn, and other items that use fleece from our national award winners; we also sell farm-fresh eggs straight from the chicken coop (you’ll find a few in the refrigerator upon your arrival; our gift to you!).

If you are looking to get away from it all, gaze up at the stars against a pure, black sky at night, walk among the alpacas and other animals, and just be in the present amidst a serene backdrop, we have just the place for you.

Please note that this is a working ranch with farm animals, which means you may encounter animal poop, bugs, armadillos, and other animals. We just ask you to respect the land and watch where you walk! Once your reservation is confirmed, we will send you a list of instructions and do’s and don’ts that will help make your stay an unforgettable, five-star, and highly personal experience.

Very nice farm stay!
This property was just as photographed. A quiet farm with views of the alpacas! Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, tv, nice showers and air-conditioning. And Alpacas! Gina was a great host.

Amazing weekend getaway
The property was beautiful. The house we stayed in was nice and clean. Gina was a wonderful host. She answered any questions we had. The alpacas were amazing. Gina had names for all of them and there were lots of them. I’m already ready to go back! Highly recommend!

It was wonderful to wake up, see alpaca just across and be able to go up to them. They were such fun to watch. The house is somewhat unusual but still functional and spacious. The kitchen has really nice space. Our only issue was trying to use the TV in the bedroom. Gina is very quick to respond to concerns and the property makes for a memorable trip!

Country Getaway
My family had an amazing time here from the animals to the salt water pool. They especially loved petting the alpacas and feeding the chickens with Gina. The house was well stocked and cozy. There is a nice porch area to sit and watch the sunset and hear the summer city-free ambience. We highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Legendary Alpacas. Gina was an impeccable host. We took the tour and learned so much about Alpacas and Alpaca farming. She even offered a little arts and crafts activity for our family -- we felted soaps and crafted bird balls! The kitchen is well appointed and the rooms are pretty spacious. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were nice. We will be back!😁

Much needed getaway
We love how Gina's place is right next to ETTS so my kids can hang out with the alpacas, swim in the pool all day and enjoy nature while my hubby has his Tactical competition for the weekend. She is hospitable, understanding and very informative with she provides the alpaca tour. We're planning on making this an annual retreat! Definitely will share with friends!

A peaceful retreat!
Gina is the perfect hostess (and tour guide!) of this beautiful retreat. The barndominium has everything you need: a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, TVs in every room, an outdoor grill, and a gorgeous resort-style pool. And then there are the alpacas!! (and guinea hens, turkeys, chickens, horses and dogs!) You won't find a more gracious, knowledgeable and responsive host anywhere!

Great Visit
We stayed at this location to celebrate my daughter's 18th bday with a couple of friends. It was the perfect setting for them to enjoy watching the adorable alpacas, to interact with the other farm animals, to swim, and to play games in the guest house. Everything was perfect. The guest house was comfortable and well-stocked. The owner was very sweet and accommodating. Would highly recommend!!

Beautiful, Relaxing and Tranquil
We had an amazing stay at the Barndominium. The farm is beautiful and the experience of being able to watch the Alpacas from the windows was fantastic. Gina was very welcoming and the fresh eggs left for us were great. The home has everything you would need and is furnished beautifully. We were so grateful that Gina was willing to allow our extended family from the area that we were visiting to join us and gave us a wonderful and educational tour of the Alpaca Farm. It was so cool to be able to hold a baby Alpaca in our arms. We will definitely plan to return and stay when the weather is warmer and be able to take adavantage of the pool!
