Beautiful Cabin with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge mountains. We especially liked the outdoor fire pit and Hot Tub. The trek up from the main highway is a bit of a challenge but very scenic. Will definitely plan on returning for a peaceful vacation.
Elk Ridge Lodge is absolutely the most relaxing spot you can find in Western North Carolina. We have stayed here twice now and this trip was a much needed retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. From the fabulous cabin to the breathtaking views from the deck, this incredible place simply cannot miss. Secluded, quiet, peaceful, and so relaxing: simply the best place to have a vacation and unwind.

Thank you, Sara! We agree! That porch is therapeutic! 😁Come on back and be a porch dweller anytime! We’d love to have you! David and Amy
Incredibly clean. Well stocked with high quality furniture, dishes, appliances. No thrift store cast offs here. The view is amazing, including the stars at night that you cannot see in or near a city. The access road was not difficult. So peaceful. Would definitely go back.
We had a wonderful stay! You truly can’t beat the view and location. The cabin smelled and felt very clean, and we loved having the games and hot tub as extra perks. I’ve never experienced such great communication from hosts as we did with David and Amy. They were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The kitchen was also well stocked with all the utensils, pots, and pans we needed, which made cooking very easy. One thing to be aware of is that the drive up the steep, winding hills to get to the cabin is definitely a trek, but the views and experience are absolutely worth it. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay. Highly recommended. Very very clean and the views are amazing.
Very clean and quiet out of the way cabin. Really beautiful with a fire pit, fireplace, hot tub, grill and game room. Very well kept and a quiet out of the way cabin.
The cabin was gorgeous and clean. The pictures of the home are a great representation, but the pictures of the view do not serve it justice. The view is unlike anything I've ever seen from a home. The only other time I've seen views like this was at an overlook. Absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to drive a vehicle that can handle steep gravel roads.
As expected, the climb up the mountain was something that would require a vehicle with 4WD or AWD or front wheel drive due to the incline and parts with gravel. Great hideaway location and very private. Internet went out on the last day and without it no cell phone WiFi calling or cell service. Great experience overall. Great amenities.
Absolutely beautiful cabin with plenty of amenities to help with your stay and also some of the most beautiful views of mountains you’ll ever see

Thanks, Brendan! We are so happy that you guys enjoyed your time at Elk! Please come back if your travels bring you to the Smoky Mountains again! David & Amy
The host accurately presented the property in the listing, and the host clearly identified needed information such as wifi passwords, tv instructions, ect. The details about the roads to the cabin were accurate; however, we can't overemphasize the need for 4-wheel drive. At some points, the gravel road was on a 23% grade. The view was breathtakingly beautiful. This cabin is well equipped with comfortable furniture to enjoy inside and out. It was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we experienced rain for most of our stay and decided to leave early.

Hi Valinda,
Thank you so much for your kind words about ERS! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit. We truly do everything we can to make our guests feel comfortable and at home during their stay—although, unfortunately, we haven't figured out how to control the weather just yet!
I drive a four-wheel-drive Tahoe, which makes the trip up the mountain feel very easy. My wife drives a front-wheel-drive SUV and has never had any difficulty reaching the cabin either. We completely understand that the road can seem a bit intimidating the first time, especially if you're unfamiliar with mountain roads. For what it's worth, the grade on the gravel portion never exceeds 15 degrees. My Tahoe actually has an incline gauge, and I've measured it several times for guests who have asked.
The comment we hear most often is that once guests arrive at the cabin and take in the breathtaking views from just over 4,000 feet in elevation, they agree the drive was absolutely worth it.
Thank you again for choosing ERS. We hope to welcome you back for another mountain getaway in the future!
Thanks for another wonderful year! This is truly one of our favorite places to escape to. The views are absolutely breathtaking, the home is beautiful and so comfortable, and we especially appreciated how spotless and clean everything was when we arrived — it made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. We love being able to completely unplug from it all here.Thank you, David & Amy!
This property was exactly as described. The cabin was super clean and well appointed with all we needed for our stay. We had a couple questions which we sent to the owners who responded quickly. This is definitely a place we'd book again for a future trip.
