** Accessibility Features **
Finding a vacation rental that truly works for wheelchair users or mobility-challenged travelers can be difficult in the mountains. That’s why Honey Hive Hideaway was intentionally designed to be barrier-free:
Step-free entry via ADA ramp that connects the sidewalk to the van-accessible loop driveway.
Two wheelchair-friendly bedrooms, one with articulating beds for added comfort.
One ADA-compliant bathroom with a roll-in shower, grab bars, and plenty of turning space.
Single-level, open floorplan with smooth plank flooring throughout.
Wide hallways and doorways for easy wheelchair movement.
Spacious porches and decks: a 60-foot covered front porch and a 12x16 rear deck, both accessible.
Driveway loop design allows vehicles to pull through without backing up — ideal for vans and small buses.
One guest summed it up: “Being able to bring our wheelchair-bound family member and have every area on one level with ramp access was a huge plus.”

** Seasonal Reasons to Visit **
Spring: See wildflowers bloom across the Smokies, enjoy mild weather, and explore quieter trails.
Summer: Perfect for family reunions and group trips, with endless attractions in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Fall: Peak foliage season brings brilliant colors — guests book far in advance for this time of year.
Winter: Cozy up by the fire, visit holiday light displays, and take advantage of nearby winter sports at Ober Mountain.
** Our Story **
Honey Hive Hideaway is more than a rental — it’s our family’s passion project. Over three years of remodeling during the Covid years, with the help of our 8 teenagers, we transformed this cottage into a warm, eco-conscious retreat.
90% of salvageable materials were recycled back into the remodel.
Locally sourced lumber was used for the handmade porch decking.
The cabin is energy-efficient while retaining a rustic, cottage feel.
The cheerful honeybee theme reflects both the bright yellow exterior and our family’s sense of togetherness. Guests often tell us it makes their stay memorable and welcoming.
** Guest Testimonials **
“This was honestly one of the best Airbnbs my family & I rented … Everything was absolutely perfect. We loved the bee theme!” — Arno
“ADA compliant, spotless, and plenty of space for the whole family.” — James
“Beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and the view was absolutely stunning.” — Laura
“We all felt right at home during our stay. So peaceful & quiet. Highly recommend!” — Alyssa
