Welcome to Golden Valley at Tamarron Resort (Gambel Oak #777), a beautifully updated 1-bedroom, 2-bath mountain condo, framed by breathtaking cliffs of the San Juan Mountains and overlooking the Glacier Club’s scenic Valley Golf Course. Whether you're here to golf, hike, relax, or explore nearby Durango, this bright and welcoming retreat offers the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and stunning views.

Inside, you’ll find a full kitchen with a double gas oven, a cozy living and dining area, and a queen Murphy bed for extra guests (all complemented by large windows and mountain light). Step out onto the private deck, fire up the electric grill, and take in panoramic views while you sip your morning coffee or wind down at sunset.

Upstairs, the king suite loft features its own full bathroom, TV, and stylish sliding barn doors that create complete privacy from the main level. With two full baths, a wine cooler, game table, smart TVs, and fast Wi-Fi (100+ Mbps), this home is both practical and pampering.

As a guest, you’ll enjoy exclusive discounted access to Glacier’s 18-hole Valley Course: Full details will be provided in your check-in info. Golden Valley is the ideal year-round home base for your next Rocky Mountain adventure.

WHERE YOU'LL SLEEP:
* 1 King Bed in the Upstairs Bedroom (with TV) - sliding barn doors to close off bedroom from living area below
* 1 Queen Murphy Bed in Main Level Living Area

ON-SITE AMENITIES AT THE LODGE INCLUDE: indoor pool, outdoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam shower, fitness center, golf at a special discounted rate, tennis, pickleball, playground, 3 on-site restaurants, and event center. There is an EV Charging Station available for guest use in the Valley Clubhouse parking lot, adjacent to the Tamarron Lodge. Our Tamarron rental guests can play Glacier's 18-hole Valley Course at an exclusive discounted rate. Details will be provided in your rental instructions. There is a $20 per person ski shuttle to purgatory on weekends - tickets must be purchased in advance and the pick-up location is in the Valley Clubhouse parking lot.

LOCATION: Tamarron sits at around 7800 feet in elevation and is just 10 minutes south of Purgatory Ski Resort and 20 minutes north of downtown Durango. Many guests stay here to visit Purgatory Ski Resort, which offers a variety of restaurants, winter and summer activities, and festivals/events.

AWD or 4WD is recommended in Winter (Dec-Mar).

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

We loved the property and vacation! Easy and short drive to Durango and Purgatory. Also was on the way to Silverton. The condo was roomy and bathrooms were extremely updated and nice. Perfect for a family of four! Would definitely try to rent again if we are back in area.

Short Summer Getaway

Everything was as advertised. The location is not particularly convenient to downtown Durango and there was some internal noise from neighbors but nothing too bad. It worked it worked well for our goals of a quick summer trip. I would not have a problem staying here again. I believe it was a good value too.

The bed was very comfortable which is always the key determiner of our satisfaction. Guests of mature age should take into account there are two flights of stairs from the parking lot and no valet service or elevators to help get your gear up the stairs.

Only issue was the oven blew a circuit breaker twice while there, and maintenance was quick to come out and fix for us. The property is older, but well maintained and clean. There is a loft that closes off to below except for the stairs - semi-private.

The kitchen is fully stocked with every cooking tool necessary; we mostly cooked and grilled at the condo. The amenities the complex provides are also spectacular. The gym views are amazing and our kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub. Location was nice too- far enough out to see the spacious views of Colorado but close enough to downtown Durango to enjoy the city. We would definitely recommend this rental!

Great house

The house was great. The drive to town was not a problem, less than 20 minutes to Durango with beautiful scenery the whole way. The only problem I had was the washing machine had a horrible mildew smell. It was bad enough that I chose not to wash our clothes in it. Which was disappointing because it was the main reason I chose this unit.

The new restaurant, The Prospector, just opened in Tamarron during our visit and it was very good, especially for a new opening, we ate there 3 times. The condo had nice furnishings, but everything was dirty except the sheets. Towels smelled musty; dishes were put away dirty, had to wash things we used before we used them; porches were filthy (we were able to wipe down front porch chairs to use), but the back porch was unusable, one of the reasons we picked this unit so was very disappointed.

Tub/shower combo has high sides with glass enclosure which presented a problem for my husband getting in and out of but the shower downstairs was very nice. Kitchen has all the cookware you would ever need, however no cooking oil or spices are available. The view from the front door deck area was very beautiful and this is where we enjoyed morning coffee. There is no view from inside the townhome due to all the trees along the outside deck, which was not cleaned prior to our arrival. There are some popping noises from the ceiling area that may have been due to the warming and cooling during the day into the night. All in all, it was very comfortable and met our needs and availability on a short notice for a week stay. We loved the golf course and the views from the course were beautiful! Food at the restaurants was good. Communication with management company was good.

Cold weather and snow test limits of property and management

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Intermittently frozen pipe to downstairs toilet prevented use for 3 of 5 day stay. Pets aren’t allowed, but copious amounts of fur on floor and downstairs comforter suggest the previous presence of a dog. Next door neighbor seems to be a year rounder. TV is clearly audible 24/5 in the upstairs bathroom and loft. Plowing with no gravel or salt created an ice rink in the parking lot. Plenty of Texas, Arizona, & Utah visitors on summer tires and 2wd vehicles caused numerous blockages of the narrow access roads. Internet was also out for entire day. No curtains on windows, first light will wake you. For the price point, these issues shouldn’t be issues in an area that should be used to heavy winter weather.

We had a few little things pop up, and maintenance was very prompt, and helpful. We used the pool, hot tub, and the restaurants. All were excellent and I highly recommend staying at Tammarron.

Property was good. However, you might warn people, just in case it is an older couple that you have to navigate several flights of stairs just to get to the front door and then a circular staircase to get up to bedroom. There is virtually no way to get luggage up the circular staircase.
