Welcome to “Cast-Away" cottage. Enjoy direct channel-front living in Cherry Grove while being less than a 4 minute walk to the beach. Hot tub and Ocean view.
Multiple porches and decks, Hot Tub, and several recently upgraded amenities.

4-bedroom, 4 bath house. Each bedroom has its own PRIVATE full bathroom. There is an additional full bathroom in the renters closest downstairs + an outdoor shower right next to the hot tub. One King bedroom with attached bathroom, 2 Queen bedrooms each with attached bathrooms. 4th bedroom has 2 bunks with attached bathroom. That’s right, no sharing of bathrooms! House can accommodate up to 10 guests. The owners bring their family down twice a year and add to the rustic beach flare with each visit.

House comes equipped with everything you need for the perfect beach day: beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, floats, cornhole, beach toys, coolers, and a beach cart with big sand wheels to tote all your gear! All beach gear is conveniently located in the downstairs renter's closet. There are TWO downstairs showers; one private outdoor shower next to the Hot Tub and one full indoor bathroom downstairs, adjacent to the renter's closet.

Hot Tub overlooking the channel.

The rear "dock deck" overlooks the channel and is appointed with 4 tall Adirondack chairs. This is the owner's favorite place to sit with a beverage after a beach day while everyone gets ready for dinner. Deck leads to floating dock in case you bring your kayas, paddle boards, or boat. Dock is fully functional to support a boat or to fish from.

Rear upstairs deck is appointed with multiple seating areas and serves as a favorite morning coffee spot to take in the fish jumping in the channel and the birds singing. With full breakfast table, couch, and two chairs, everyone can fit outside.

Head back downstairs to an open patio complete with more seating, hammock, swinging bench, propane grill, and everyone's favorite HOT TUB overlooking the channel. The downstairs patio offers privacy and a break from the sun.

The upstairs front porch has a side view of the ocean. Two rocking chairs allow for hours of listing to the waves while people watching.

Great time!

This is a gem! The house was beautiful inside and out and you can tell the owners keep the place up very well. Great views and decor was awesome. Very convenient to shops, pier and beach!

Wonderful family vacation!

Our family had a wonderful getaway at this property! The property manager was very friendly and easy to work with. The location of the property is a brief walk to the beach, which was perfect for our crew. The house was very clean upon arrival and they make the departure process a breeze. We will be booking again!

Holiday vacation

Overall was very nice house and location … only thoughts to help out renters would be to label the light switches in the house to help know what they control. we were overall very happy with our stay and would return.

Family Vacay Fun!

We stayed a week as a family of 9 and loved every minute. We enjoyed coffee every morning on the porch overlooking the sound as the kids fished and caught flounder. The hot tub was a nice touch as well as the cornhole and beach accessories. The house is old school with updates and I appreciate the lack of cameras. Enjoy!!

Nostalgic getaway

We had a wonderful stay! My partner and I got married at the point during our stay and it was a beautiful house to get ready in and stay with our closest friends This house reminded me so much of the beach house my family owned in Cherry Grove when I was growing up. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The only thing I’d note is that the toilet in the master bedroom would keep running after use. Not a major issue or complaint, but something we noticed. Would love to stay here again soon!

Beach Sunrise Wedding

The house was decorated with true style, keeping the old charm but still adding the new charm too. We stayed at the house to celebrate my brothers wedding and it was everything we wanted it to be. We would definitely return to Cherry Grove Beach. Thanks again for opening your house to us.

beach week

location is near 2 large high rise hotels, so beach very crowded . house needs a lot of TLC. I was glad to make it through the week without anything breaking down,esp. in the kitchen.

Perfect location at the perfect beach

This is an old fashioned beach house with old fashioned wood paneling and that's what we want when we go to the beach. Some modern beach houses are so pristine and the furniture all perfect and covered in white - it makes it impossible to relax and enjoy the beach afraid we'll mess something up. This house is the perfect mix of nicely furnished and well equiped but not prissy. We were able to put our feet up and relax and enjoy the beach. The grandchildren were able to run around and have fun with out us constantly having to watch them and caution them - be careful of this, don't touch that, etc., etc. I recommend this place strongly if you're looking for that sort of laid back accommodation.

Cutting corners and no communication

While the location of the house is great, we had some issues with our stay. The cleaning service they use is not thorough at all. Upon check in, there was hair from the previous guests stuck to the side of the shower. We found 6-8 pieces of trash stuck under furniture and a whole dirty t shirt stuck behind a pillow on the couch. Housekeeping should have caught these things. Makes me sure they are doing the minimum when they come to clean. One bathroom never did get hot water, so the family members using that room had to shower in the outdoor shower. The grill is broken. The biggest issue I had is that I contacted the host and was ignored. Not a call back or text, no acknowledgment whatsoever.

Deposit Abuse

Would avoid renting from this owner/manager. The house is fine though dated. Our main issue is that we were billed for “damage” to the hot tub. The alleged damage was to foam head rests, which were badly deteriorated from heavy chlorine use when we arrived. They immediately fell off upon our first use of the tub as the foam is dissolving around the tabs that attach to the hot tub. They had obviously fallen off numerous times in the past. We explained this and provided pictures, but to this day have never received a call back from the manager or owner on the hot tub issue or anything else despite reaching out several times during and after our stay. Not sure if the issue is with the owner or manager. They claim the hot tub is new but a quick search on line shows that these headrests dissolve quickly if the tub is shocked with chlorine and immediately covered (and or heavily chlorinate) which is exactly what they do based on our own observation. We were also chastised for removing the float containing the chlorine tablets. We are VRBO owners ourselves, frequent renters and always take care of the homes we rent. We left the house immaculate, as we would under any circumstance. Bottom line is that it is a “commodity” type rental with an owner playing games with and exploiting the deposit. We are contesting the charge and supporting our dispute with photographs, text messages and phone call dates. It is doubtful that they will end up with any of the deposit but a headache and frankly insulting to have to bother. Would simply rent another unless there was none other available.

Please note that the hot tub is only a couple of months old and VRBO has decided the matter of the security deposit in favor of the owner after an extensive review of the issue. While this issue has not arisen with any other guests, we have added a note to the guest binder that the hot tub headrests should not be removed. We appreciate you staying at Cast-Away cottage and apologize that your stay was anything less than perfect.

Family Vacation

This house was just perfect for my family ! It was exactly what we needed. We have been going to Cherry Grove since I was a child and it’s a great family location and environment. I’m a “hot box” so needing the keep the AC at 72 was alittle tough for me but I know that’s an issue with most beach homes due to the humidity - next time I will bring a fan. We will definitely consider staying again!!

Perfect fit for our family

This house was a great fit for our family. We had 4 grandparents in their seventies, a couple in their forties, a 14YO and a 9YO. We all enjoyed the stay. Easy walk to the beach; straight down the street and onto the public access in 5min at most. The provided beach wagon was awesome. We rented an umbrella and chairs so no feedback there but we did enjoy the beach toys as well. The canal off the back deck was quiet and provided a good spot to hang out and cast a line. While we didn't catch much it was fine and reeling in an occasional croaker or even better a blue crab was good enough for us. The ceiling fans on the back porch made for easy relaxing even in the summer heat and made it quite inviting at night. Also helped keep the bugs away. We did not use the hot tub but the washer, dryer and dishwasher all worked fine as well. Overall everyone was pleased with the house and we would definitely consider staying here next time we visit Cherry Grove.

Good location, OK house

Easy checking in, plenty of extra keys. Easy walk to the beach, quiet at night, large dining table worked great for meals or games. Porch and dock were nice extras. Bolt on front door stuck when very humid. We did not bring a pet but because the rental allows pets there was dog hair on outside rug and furniture. Newer large bedroom/bathroom was good, other bathrooms were pretty small so keep in mind for larger groups. Lots of remodeled homes in the area but property to left of this house looks appears neglected, only noting it to caution those with kids who like to explore.

Great location

Overall it was a wonderful stay, but the house could use some updates to the appliances in the kitchen and the third queen room by the front entrance needs to be switched with the bunk beds. Needs TV's in all rooms and the master tv really could not get any channels. Other than those small things this property is a A in our book.

We have stayed at many Vrbo in the past and this one was great. It was very clean. We had everything we needed. We brought our own beach chairs but their were plenty at the house. Great location on the channel. We brought our boat and tied up to the floating dock. We will be back.

We are from the Northeast. Having vacationed all over, we just loved the close proximity of North Myrtle Beach to our primary home, easily drive or fly. The laid back atmosphere of North Myrtle Beach provides everything we need while being so close to many attractions our kids enjoy.

Cherry Grove holds a special pace in our heart. This section of North Myrtle Beach provides a low-key and family style environment away from the busy crowds. The beach here truly rivals any we've been to, even larger spans of Myrtle Beach. With each visit, we go to Barefoot landing at least 2 or 3 times, there is something for everyone with Dining, Shopping, Play Areas, Boardwalks, Shows, ETC.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Everyone loves the "feel" of this cottage. It's unlike most homes that have a "shotgun" style bedroom layout, thanks to the addition the prior owners made. The addition allows for a large indoor family room, plus separate dining room and kitchen, that you usually see all crammed together in other homes in the area. The new upstairs rear deck compliments the front deck, dock, and lower patio very well. There's more outdoor living space than indoors! Lastly, with each trip the owners like to add to the cottage décor and upgrade amenities. There is true pride of ownership throughout and we love hearing the feedback from our repeat guests about new additions every year.
