Wake up to the toasty aromas of fresh coffee in the coffee maker then head out to enjoy the first chirps of the morning on the deck's swing bench. Gather everyone into the grand living room to cozy up to the fireplace, enjoy a good DVD movie on the large cable TV or a night of board games. You'll even have a stereo system to enjoy your favorite music with. The full kitchen is equipped with everything the family chef will need to create something wonderful for tonight's home-cooked masterpiece. The kids will love playing with the family dog in the enclosed yard while you grill up today's fresh catch on the private gas grill for an al-fresco meal on the deck. When it's time to call it a night, you'll have plenty of accommodations for everyone, with a large bedroom plus two bonus sleeping areas to take advantage of.

You'll be surrounded by all kinds of fantastic outdoor activities like whitewater rafting through Rubicon Adventures, just six miles east. Enjoy local festivals like Lazy Bear Week, Women's Weekend, Pride, Old Grove Festival, and Russian River Vine and Dine. There are also lots of amazing hiking trails all through Muir Woods and Armstrong Woods.

Cozy river retreat

Beautiful Stay in the Woods

This place is so cozy! With an electric fireplace, comfortable couch, love seat, blankets, dvds, books, artwork on every wall, personal touches, and a deep fandom for dogs, this place is perfect for any Russian River stay. I would very much like to return, stay longer and enjoy the place a little more.

Cabin was well loved, beds comfy, securely fenced property for dogs (we didn't have any). Netflix streaming was nice. We had no hot water or heat, but Vacasa got a handyman out by noon the next day to fix both (regulator at the propane tank). Aside from that snafu, our stay was comfortable and we would book again if we could be assured that amenties were functional.

Poor customer service

The house is close to the river and town. It's run by an agency, so don't expect much in the way of amenities (which is what they consider toilet paper to be) or good communications (snarky texts is what you'll get).

Charming rustic home in Guernville

Perfectly fine stay in Russian River

This place is super close to main street Guerneville, was clean and easy to find, and was very comfortable. We had issues with the stove not working and no way to make coffee. Not a huge deal for us as we were only there for a couple days but I could see it being annoying for a long stay. My girlfriend also banged her leg on the twin bed frame that sticks out.

Great home

This home was very comfortable. I liked all the different spaces inside and out. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, so you can bring all your own food to prep. The skylights and porch were beautiful for seeing the trees. The one feedback I have is to fix the fireplace and replace the batteries in the remotes. Thank you!

Cool cabin in the woods!

The home had plenty of seating in the living room and enough items in the kitchen to cook a meal. I would say it's a 2 bedroom because there are two rooms with beds and doors. The front room is more of a study but it does have a bed. It's close to town but if you go in the rainy season, part of the street floods so if you have a low car, be careful. Our dog loved the backyard. I was sad that the fireplace does not work but the heater worked great! Just something about a fire on a rainy day inside...

Delightful forest retreat

This home provided the cozy, forest retreat we needed for my partner's birthday weekend, and it was a paradise for our small dog. The yard and deck gave him ample space to play and explore - much more than we have at our own home! But rest assured, the space is also human-friendly too ;-) The house was very clean and comfortable, and we loved the original vintage kitchen features and wood paneling. The unit heats up quickly when the central heat is turned on. We had some questions about the unit when we arrived and Vacasa customer service was very responsive. I was able to talk to a live person after a short wait and they followed up with me throughout the day. I would definitely book through Vacasa again. Thank you for facilitating a lovely weekend!

Horrible communication from Vacasa!

Pros: close to the river and town, cute house, lots of space, nice porch.Cons: The photos online are misleading-it is VERY dark in the whole house & there are not enough lights-bring a reading light if you want to read. The living room furniture is soft with no support-fine if you aren't prone to backaches or needing support. There's no binder with information on how to use things in the house. Despite having a 22-year old with me, we could not figure out how to use the remotes to access tv. We only had access to the dvd player and some apps. The thermostat was unusual, so I contacted the company. I received one text telling me to look it up online. Then, two hours after I figured out how to turn the heat on, I got a nastily-worded text reminding me that I knew when I signed the contract that there was no AC. I had never asked about AC. The worst thing by far was the toilet paper situation. A house that sleeps up to 6 people had about 3/4 of one roll of TP. The response from Vacasa was that they only provide "starter supplies", as if that amount of TP would be sufficient for even one person for the 4-night stay we booked. The text told me to go buy my own. I know that it's hard to judge tone in a text, so I recommend that Vacasa train their employees on customer service. If you're looking for just a place to sleep and eat, this place is great. Just remember to bring your own TP and any food item you need in the kitchen (absolutely no condiments, salt/pepper, oil, etc).

Great house - bad management by Vacasa

The house itself was great! Pre-arrival was confusing b/c the map directions (Google) showed the house next door instead so it lead you to believe the wrong one was being listed. The stay was good up until he day before we were to checkout when the main gasline to the house was shut off somehow. The gas company was called but they didn't show up until the afternoon. VICASA did not send anyone local out to help and asked us to check out the pilot lights, circuit breakers, gas line ourselves! We had planned a big brunch using the food we had purchased for the week long stay. So, not only did we not have hot water to shower, we could not use the stove or oven to cook. Management did not send any of the local team out to investigate or help - they just called the gas company. Had they sent a local out, they probably could have seen the main gas line had just been shut off and it would have been an immediate fix. We had to have cold breakfast and lunch. So, we moved our big brunch to the day of checkout so we didn't waste all the food we had purchased. We asked for a 1-2 hour delay in our checkout to accommodate this as compensation for being without for nearly an entire day. Management refused our request! VICASA had other rentals in town and could have easily moved us to last on the list to be cleaned and given us the hour we requested! The entire stay was tainted b/c of such poor customer service! We will not be using any property that uses VICASA as a management company.

Could be a lot better.

This home is small, old and smells a bit old as well. It has a quaint cabin like feel, but that’s about it. The biggest issue for us was the road noise. It is backed up to the main road which is 45mph and it sounds like a freeway….inside the house. The poor insulation in the house doesn’t make it any better either. You can not see the river, or even get to the river from the road this house is on, there are larger house situated across the street, on the river, that block everything. The fireplace did not work at all, following all of the handwritten instructions did not fix it either. The house furnace was not adjustable, the keypad did not work, you could turn the heat on and it seemed to turn on, but you were stuck at whatever temp it was set at. Most of the dishes in the cabinets were dirty and we had to rewash everything we used. There is no dishwasher, so the owners shouldn’t rely on renters washing them correctly, the cleaning service should be doing that. Furthermore, there are about 50 too many random old pots and pans that should be removed, your rental cabin shouldn’t be the place where you put all your leftover kitchenware from your home. Surprisingly, the water pressure was great! Lol. I would not stay here again, to loud to be a relaxing cabin, and a shame too because the deck was very nice and well setup up for a dog. You go to the Russian river area to relax and see the river, you couldn’t do either with this house.

The home was very cozy and the remote area was exactly what we werte looking for. The proximity to Armstrong woods trails is incredible.Some things needed to be a little cleaner like the living room furniture is a little smelly and should be home cleaned. Id also say the description of being everything a hole cook would want is inaccurate. There was no salt, no foil very old olive oil, only one cutting board and the knived are so dull you cannot cut a thing. Could also use a tea pot. Overall will definitely stay again

No Fireplace, dirty dog smell

Wish I could say I enjoyed this place, but I really didn't. I've stayed in many VRBO places in Guerneville, Monte Rio, Forestville, and this was the worst. 1) There is NO fireplace. Period. The VRBO description highlights this feature with prominent photos and when coming in December was a KEY feature I wanted - but, the fireplace is non-functional. And, no one bothered to tell us in advance. We struggled for 30 minutes (following the on-site instructions), called management who THEN tells us - sorry the listing is wrong (??!!) 2) The carpets and couch are dirty and stained. Dogs have chewed on furniture. 3) Everything smells like wet dog - including all the living room furniture, which I covered with a clean sheet so I could sit down, and the master bedroom blanket from the closet which I wanted to put on my bed. Yuck. 4) House is just off main road, so lots of road noise The one good thing about the property was that the cleaning company who takes care of the property provided a very clean kitchen and bathroom and lots of linens to use.

Perfect Weeeknd Cabin

Once we navigated the tough door lock we had a great time. Really perfectly located cabin with close proximity to downtown. Now that I know how to open the door, we'll be back!
