This place is like a fairy house come to life! So much care has gone into creating this magical getaway, and the waterfront private cove location cannot be beat. We feel so lucky we found this place and cannot wait to return. It was exactly the disconnected getaway we needed!

Amazing Glamping!!!

This was just what we hoped for! Clean, well thought out and put together, private, and very special feeling. Too many special touches to try to list. We hope to come back some day! Would recommend for anyone that wants a glamping experience in Maine.

Overall cute place for a weekend getaway couple little unexpected things that left us feeling this property isn’t as private as it claims - while we love fur babes and have 2 of our own we asked to please keep dogs away from our site this weekend - a few times dogs came to our site and wouldn’t leave - husband stepped in dog waste by the outhouse

Cozy Cabin in the woods

Gorgeous views. Very cozy, love the string lights. Very romantic. Loved being able to kayak from the site, enjoyed watching the birds.

So Peaceful

Our stay was extremely Peaceful. The view, the light breeze, the quiet was Amazing. The A-Frame was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. The waterfall and stream was an amazing and excellent addition.

Amazing stay at Sunflower Camp!

We had the best time during our stay- the location, amenities, and the yurt itself were all even better than we hoped. Machelle was super accommodating and gave us lots of info about the campsite and surrounding area. We’d absolutely visit again! 10/10

Amazing

What can I say but WOW! This was our second time to this property and it was again the best experience and so so beautiful. We celebrated our 28th anniversary and everything was beyond perfect. If you’re looking to unplug and be surrounded by nature and its beauty this is the spot for you. Our dogs loved it also, very dog friendly!!!! There are not enough words for how much we loved it. The love and pride the owner put into this is felt in every detail. Extremely beautiful and special. Can’t wait to go back again.

What a gem of a place! Everything is just perfect, and the small touches like fairy lights and fresh flowers make it so magical and charming. The photos really don’t do it justice! The place is clean and comfortable and there’s everything you need for a comfortable stay. My husband said I shouldn’t leave such a glowing review because he’s afraid too many people will discover this hidden slice of heaven! We’re already looking forward to coming back.

What a perfect secluded area

Michelle was wonderful! We’ll be booking again! My son fished for 3 days straight sun up to sun down! Our dog can’t be around other others animals so traditional campgrounds simply won’t work for us . My teenage girls didn’t argue not once! We all played games an just enjoy some family time!

Wonderful Get Away

The A frame is simply and beautifully built with clear plexiglass roofing, a conventional door w/ windows and another window above the bed's headboard. Lots of Light and very clean, The bed is really comfortable. A small dresser inside keeps kitchen items ( coffee mugs, plates, silverware etc ) out of the elements. Gravity fed water via hose is very nice to have. Host is so very nice and informative as well without being intrusive. The site is very peaceful and beautiful. We had another very wonderful stay at this site. Thank you so very much, Machelle !

This spacious tent mounted on a platform is situated in a secluded forested area overlooking a quiet lake which enables you to experience the outdoors while being protected from the elements. The owner has gone to a great deal of effort to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The solar-powered lighting around the encampment is magical. While you have about all you need to do some cooking and, importantly, to do the necessary cleaning up, we probably could have used some sort of container to bring water from the lake to wash dishes. But not to quibble. This is a great spot if you need to take a few days off to recharge your batteries. Never slept better.

If I could give this a 15/10 I would. We came up for the 4th of July holiday with our two kids and had a great time. Machelle, the host, is SUCH a doll- she takes such good care of the place and you can feel the love in all the little details. The lake view is amazing and the host told us about all the local places to go, even a nearby beach from which to view fireworks for the holiday. A few notes: prepare to hike! If you’re out of shape you will definitely get a glute and thigh workout going to and from the outhouse; also, there are supplies placed around the campsite to repel bugs (I didn’t notice the full dresser drawer full of them until we were packing to leave!). In short, a glamping gem in an adorable corner of Maine, and a host that makes the experience like none other.

Relaxing

We did not see another person while on the site / lake. PERFECT!! We did take the canoe out several times to explore and fish. Peaceful and enjoyable. Weather was perfect to sit in the cold waterfall then sit in the hot sun to dry off. Nights were a bit chilly but we brought a heavy blanket and it did the job. Only disappointments were that the solar string of lights hung around the site were not all working so the site was very DARK at night and one propane tank ran out but NO BIGGIE !!! There were two propane tanks so it did not stop us from cooking. All in all we had a wonderful time and are already thinking about when we will visit again in 2023 should our good God allow us to do so. We even saw an eagle fly by and land in a nearby tree while having our morning coffee.

Perfect retreat in a beautiful calm lakeside setting. Despite rain on arrival we were cosy & content in the well equipped tent & spent evenings around a fire & camp kitchen. A wonderful 3 day stay. Host very hospitable.

Great l home base for Acadia hiking

We really enjoyed our time in Ellsworth. I wish we would have scheduled more downtime to explore the lake and stream located on the property.

Nice Location

The tent was spacious and linens are provided. There is some cooking/dish washing materials already there, but still be prepared to bring your own supplies especially if you have more than two people (we were short on silverware and couldn't find the spatula for the grill). We were warned about the mud and low water level, but unfortunately we were sinking almost up to our knees in it and gave up on bringing the kayaks out. Not really something you can control though. Other than that, the site was quiet and peaceful and we really liked the solar string lights at night. The trail to the waterfall was short and it was great to take a dip in on a hot day. Just be aware of the thorns along the trail as we kept getting scratched going back and forth around one area. Overall a pleasant experience and the host was informative about what to expect upon arrival!

A perfect place to unwind

If you are looking for the perfect place to unwind, this is it. The setting is so peaceful and inviting. The trees canopy protects you from rain and sun and the whole environment here is so tranquil and happy. I had everything I could need to have an enjoyable stress free vacation. My dog and I loved Machelle and we loved the campsite and the tent. Everything was really perfect. Machelle was very helpful and sweet. There is nothing more I could have wanted. Very dog friendly and comfortable. The night air was perfect for sleeping and the bed was very comfortable. It was a perfect place to stay so I could drive to different hikes in the area without being in a crowded place. Thank you Machelle for making our vacation so wonderful. You rock!

Property has everything needed to enjoy this place. Convenience store w/ Gas and everything else very close by. Check in / out was effortless. Host responded quickly and adequately to our one or two questions. Unique experience. We hope to return.
