Hurricane Matthew has come and gone, our beach has been refurbished, and life is great.

Colonnade 208 is nestled in a quiet part of Shipyard Plantation in one of the prettiest enclaves. The villa complex has beautiful sand-colored stucco walls, archway entrances and impeccable landscaping.

Appliances and Living Room furniture was upgraded in 2016 and includes. GE washer and dryer with lots of cycles. An energy efficient, GE side by side refrigerator featuring filtered water and ice in the door. And a GE super quiet dishwasher.

We have a sectional couch that includes a queen size fold out bed. A leather Lazy Boy recliner has been added for comfortable TV viewing or taking a quick snooze. Living room furniture remodel is finished out with a TV console and leather ottoman and upholstered swivel chair.

An Insignia LCD TV / DVD combo for the guest bedroom was a new addition in 2016. A tile shower with glass door for the guest bath replaces the previous fiberglass model. For 2017 we have added a granite top vanity.

New bed coverings have been acquired for both bedrooms.

You will love this condo which is an upstairs, end-unit with additional windows and skylights, a sliding glass door to the deck, and a very light and bright open floor plan. We are a NON-smoking and NON-pet unit, so please honor our request since other visitors will be affected.

The master bedroom has a high-quality mattress for a good night's sleep. The Master bedroom is decorated with a beach and shell motif. It has a flat screen TV, DVD player, and VHS recorder / player.

The second bedroom is decorated in a sea shell motif. There is a flat screen TV with DVD for the kids. The bedrooms and bathroom are separated and private. There is a double dresser with mirror.

Telephone service is digital VOIP and as such allows unlimited long distance calling in the continental US and Canada. There is basic cable TV service and a strong Wi-Fi network which is password protected.

In Colonnade you can enjoy relaxing in the large, crystal clear on-site pool and the hot tub for Colonnade tenants. You can also use the outdoor barbecue area which has gas grills.

Colonnade 208 is located at the start of the beach path, and it is a short walk to the beach. Stroll down the shaded path, past the Beach Club and be amazed by the sugar sand beach that awaits you. Kids can walk or bike to the beach without ever crossing a road.

Shipyard Plantation has wide walking and cycling paths that wind past gorgeous homes, lakes and the golf course. The paths are not directly on the road but rather, they are safely separated from traffic. Mossy trees keep you cool and the local wildlife is something to see. We keep our calendar up to date.

We are a retired couple from upstate NY who have been escaping the harsh upstate winters by retreating to Hilton Head Island for the winter months. We have found Colonnade Club to be a perfect winter getaway and hope that our summer guests will enjoy the pleasures that Hilton Head has to offer.

Why Dennis Ulery chose South Carolina

We loved Hilton Head Island for its relaxed low-country feel, where ancient oaks are draped with Spanish moss and the beaches are expansive. Hilton Head Island had everything we loved - art galleries, cafes, oceanfront restaurants and of course, great shopping. We had looked at many properties in Shipyard but when we saw this condo we just had to buy it! The villa is light and airy with skylights and a vaulted ceiling that make it seem more spacious. We knew we wanted a well-kept, attractive place within walking distance to the beach and we knew that we wanted a place where kids could get out, be active and be safe. We loved the upscale pool area. It was the perfect getaway.

What makes this villa unique

The condo is an end unit so it has extra windows, and sunlight makes for happiness! It is the closest to the beach path and it has a large open kitchen. The breakfast bar is a nice place to eat breakfast, read a newspaper and relax. The decor is fresh and comfortable and the private laundry room is a necessity.

Guestbook comments from the owner

There were some really great extra touches that we have not had with other rentals: a. A great touch to have soap/shampoo/cream travel pieces in the bathrooms. b. Having a hair dryer available was also a nice treat c. I think the best add was the TV/remote instructions (complete with pictures) of how to work in each of the rooms. This is a typical pain point for those not familiar with technology and having this information so simply outlined was fantastic.

Great overall experience. Perfect for our family. We love this villa.

We had a wonderful time in the Villa. This is our second time staying in this property and it was just as enjoyable the second time around. The convenient access to the beach walk is great. The kids loved riding their scooters to the beach. There were a couple of issues. The place was not as kempt as I remembered from last year. There were cobwebs in the doors and a wasps nest being constructed in the back porch railing. No fault of the property. These things neither altered our opinion of this Villa, nor affect our willingness to want to return to it. Thanks again for making our vacation a great one.

Quiet Location - Central to restaurants - shopping - beach

We very much enjoyed our stay this year. There were a lot of new amenities in the condo this year, including new appliances – refrigerator, washer, dryer, dish washer. The dishwasher is very quiet and can barely be heard in the living area. There is a new tile shower in guest bedroom.

The location is a quiet neighborhood, with ample parking and a pool nearby. Shipyard is centrally located on the island so restaurants, etc. are easy to get to. It is a short walk to the beach on a pedestrian path and there is a restroom just off the beach, including an outside area to shower off sand, etc. when leaving the beach.

The beach is very wide and flat for walking.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this lovely Villa. The Villa is very clean and beautifully decorated with attention to every detail! The pool was fantastic and the walk to the beach was just a few minutes away. We also really love Shipyard because everything we need is nearby! Great grocery stores, restaurants, golf and tennis! I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone! The owners were very nice and helpful too! We plan to return again and again!

Very nice villa...walk to beach

This was a very nice end-unit villa in the set of buildings closest to the beach and the path to the beach. Comfortable bed, great wifi and flat screen TVs. Owner terrific to deal with. Parking is easy, either right in front of the unit or under a shaded area. Unit was clean with a comfortable large couch.covered patio overlooked a wooded area so very quiet and peaceful.

Quiet with access to everything!

The condo was great - kitchen had everything we need, two bathrooms made getting ready easy, and the location was quiet but still easy access to everything Hilton Head has to offer. The walk to the beach was a pleasant 10 minutes, or when driving with chairs/umbrellas the parking was easy. The only thing that was a little difficult was check out procedure - the procedure itself was simple (tidy, take out garbage, drop the keys at the rental office) but wasn't detailed in rental info so we had to call. Owner could put out a laminated info sheet with helpful details! Otherwise, a great stay :)
