We enjoyed our stay so much can’t wait to go back. We drove to bell mountain and helen Georgia.The cabin was amazing. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots , silverware.There was a coffee bar regular drip coffee.Keurig pot with pods in the draw. Loved sitting by the lake. Very easy to contact Shannon.Wish we could have met.Our favorite vacation.

Enjoyed our quick getaway to Hiawassee! Loved the access to the lake, and the kids (& adults!) spent plenty of time on the kayak and paddle board.

This house was very well restored and well decorated. The space was comfortable and functioned very well for a 100 year old farmhouse. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds that we used were comfortable. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and paddle boarding on the lake every evening. The kids loved making smores and roasting hotdogs in the fire pit. It really was an amazing place for a laid back vacation. We did have some sugar ants that came in a few times but that happens when it has been raining. I messaged the owner and had a quick response and they took care of it timely. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the road noise. When the house was built I’m sure if there was a road there it was not remotely as busy as it is now. Luckily my husband and I slept in the room closest to the road and we were able to sleep okay despite the road noise. We did not use the front porch due to proximity of the road and the road noise however it was not that big of a deal since it was just a short walk to the chairs down by the dock. We would definitely stay here again. I really enjoyed the house and its character and history.

Absolutely charming property! The decor is rustic sophistication and they have made it a delightful place to stay. Everything you need for cooking in, pots, pans, utensils and an abundance of spices. For downtime there are books glore, puzzles, games and flat screen tvs. And of course the lake!

Perfect vacation spot!!!

Cozy and clean. Scenery is beautiful with access to the lake. Great fishing spot. Caught lots of fish. Quiet, relaxing and calm waters. Would definitely visit again. Shannon was great!!!

Excellent Weekend Getaway

The home itself was perfect for our family. Great layout and comfortable kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. We spent time on the dock and swimming in the lake and everything was easy and views were spectacular.

Property was clean & accurately described; really cute, restored very well, & comfortable. Lots of amenities. Didn't feel there was a reason to contact the host, so can't speak to that. A lot of comments mention the road noise - yes, it exists but didn't bother us as neither of us were recently released from a remote island, there's road noise everywhere... Didn't get to experience the firepit - welcome basket was empty & didn't notice a wood pile; no big deal, weren't expecting either. There's plenty to do in town and in surrounding areas. Really nice, low key place to get away & relax. Mostly pros but the biggest con the dock was terrifying. No roof/coverage. No good place to get in the water. A lot of holes & pieces that look like they were hanging on by spirit alone. Went back through reviews & it's alarming that presumably the same replacement parts/whole dock we saw have been sitting near the rickety, barely there dock since at least 2025.. wish I would've read that one sooner. Ended up knowing someone who has a place 9 minutes up the road. Packed up the car & drove to their swimming dock to enjoy the lake our first full day. Because that was the whole trip's purpose & we didn't feel like doing that/being moochers a second day in a row, we ended up leaving a day early. Bummer. But for the shape of the dock (which is still mind blowing to me given the thoughtfully renovated home), it would've been the most perfect, hidden gem!

Memorial Day Weekend

We really enjoyed our stay here on Lake Chatuge. This house is conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown. It was easy to run to the grocery store, restaurants, and the marina to pick up the boat we rented. Very clean inside and the renovations were done well. We will definitely be back for another lake weekend.

Lake stay

The property is beautifully restored and very clean. It has a dock and easy access to the lake. The owners were lovely. The only downside is the road noise from passing trucks.

Since moving to the area 10 years ago, we have had our eye on this farmhouse. We jumped at the opportunity to purchase it in 2019 and spent most of 2020 renovating the inside. It was a labor of love and we hope you fall in love with it as much as we have.
