About this property

One of Folly's Best! License to Chill is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom beach cottage nestled on a hill surrounded by lush greenery and palms. This private oasis has a completely fenced in terrace, perfect for grilling and lounging. Funky fun shops and restaurants are all less than a block away.The Folly Pier, new in 2023, and Atlantic Ocean are a short two-block stroll down a dedicated beach path right next to the property.

The well-appointed kitchen opens to the living room with comfortable furniture and large Smart TV. The modern kitchen features Frigidaire Gallery stainless steel appliances. The generous center island is appointed with bar seating for four and provides additional dining space. The 2 bedrooms and upstairs loft are all fitted with queen beds to comfortably sleep 6 guests. Bedrooms on the main level feature armoires, side tables, and reading lights for each bed. The bathroom in the master bedroom has a tiled shower. The second bathroom has a shower/tub combo and attractive vanity. Upstairs you will find a loft space featuring a queen bed with a Smart TV to the left and lounge/playroom to the right with seating, huge beanbags, and games. There is a washer and dryer and Wi-Fi too! Four colorful Adirondack chairs sit on the front porch with additional dining table seating on the spacious side patio. Wash off the sand and sea with the outdoor shower, both hot and cold water. Two parking spaces are reserved on the street in front of the property, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee availability and are not legally able to regulate the space (street parking is first come/first served). Additionally please note that propane and cleaning of the grill is the responsibility of the guest.

At License to Chill, well behaved dogs are allowed only with approval and pet fees. This home can accommodate up to 2 dogs with a maximum combined weight of 65 pounds. We will need the breed and size of your pet prior to approval.

Weekend getaway

Spotless house, great location and surprisingly quiet with the proximity to restaurants and Bert’s. The fenced yard was perfect for our Lab. Thanks we would definitely rent again!

Early Spring Break

FL spring break mid-march. Great stay - great place. S. Carolina is still warming up but with a couple bright sunny hi-60's the beach and ocean are still good as the beaches were full but not crowded. From our fishing charter experience it may have been too early to catch anything which was disappointing. However Folly Island and the Cottage were an excellent choice for us.

Look No Further

This was the perfect spot for 4 day vacation at Folly Beach .Clean , neat as a pin.. had everything we couldve asked for . It is an ideal location to walk to all the restaueants , beaches and pier . We biked to the wash out and to our kayak launch site . I definitely stay here again .

Great place

Booked the day before for a last min 4th trip for with the fam. Truly worth the other 5 star reviews. Everything was super easy, the place was really clean and the location was fantastic. Being able to take our dog was another plus. I did sweep away some of what could have been the china berries but fortunately our dog wasn’t interested in them. This little place is a gem and folly is great.

Great Location!!!

Location was great. Walked everywhere very easily. House and outdoor area fantastic. My only complaint is the street parking. There were two spots reserved for us. However we had to constantly guard our spots.

Great house!

We had a great time at Folly Beach and this house was in the perfect spot. Short walk to the beach and to many great restaurants. We walked everywhere! The house is great and just as described and shown in the pics. Very clean! Thanks for a great stay and we plan to come back again.

Second time @ License to Chill

My daughters and I stayed here last year with our new puppy and it was perfect! So we decided to book again for 2023! Love the kitchen and living area. Beds comfortable. Love the fenced yard for the pup. Location is superb. Couple comments for improvement … Upstairs gets a little warm, would love to have the pollen and debris blown out of yard before arrival (would keep the pup from accidentally bringing it inside) and could use some frying pans that don’t stick! But we love it and will rent again if it is available next year!

DO NOT BRING PETS HERE. ALMOST DIED!!!!!!

We decided to rent out the home here for many reasons, but one important thing for us was that it was a pet friendly home with a fenced yard. This gave us the flexibility of bringing our two dogs and we could let them out to go to the bathroom and play without any fear of them running away. But we discovered there were hundreds of berries scattered across the property. We didn't think anything of it at first until the dogs became curious and starting eating them. After doing research, we realized the gravity of the situation, These berries are called China berries and they are toxic to almost every living thing, including humans, and of course to dogs. Not only do they get sick, but if they ingest enough, it could be fatal. So, after calling poison control and the emergency vet clinics in the area, they told us the news we were dreading... there was a chance both of our dogs were going to die within 24 hours. and we needed to rush them to an emergency vet clinic. Although both dogs were ill, they did survive. But that was after a full day of complete worry, fear and anxiety, plus a vet bill of over $3,000. The management company is refusing to help us with this vet bill, which is a whole other issue. But if you have Pets, please DO NOT stay at this home.

Great time at Folly Beach

Had a wonderful time at Folly Beach. The house was very clean and updated. Comfortable beds. Great location: 2 short blocks to beach and 1/2 a block to shopping, bars and restaurants. The front deck was great for people watching and enjoying the afternoon sun. Parking was a problem. There are 2 spots, but they are not reserved and anyone can park there. Had to utilize the paid parking across the street. The front stairs from the street to the house are very narrow which made it difficult to get our suitcases up and down. The upstairs bedroom could use some blinds. Management is a stickler on 4pm check-in and would not allow us to get in 20 minutes early.

This place was great for our family of 6 along with 2 dogs. The outside was fenced in and we could let our dogs move in and out freely. Incredible location, walkable to the pier/beach and all the shops. We loved it.

Perfect beach cabin for relaxation

We had a wonderful week at Folly! The cabin is perfectly located and our pup loved the fenced in yard. Super clean and bright. Just a lovely little spot!

Wonderful stay

House was very clean. I would suggest putting blinds in the upstairs bedroom and also a free standing closet. Front steps are a bit dicey. Overall we had a nice stay.

Great House

This house was insanely clean (and I have high standards), the PERFECT location, and one of our favorite places we have stayed on Folly. The outdoor space is so cute and fenced. We will 100% be staying here again. That being said there were a few negatives. The house has a grill but the propane tank was empty on arrival and when I called the rental company they said you have to provide the propane yourself, so you would be filling the tank to basically use once or twice. For as much as you are paying to rent the house, providing propane to me should be a cheap curtesy. that would last a while. The house has reserved parking spots in front. Parking during the week was no problem. However, on the weekend nights, people will just park in the reserved spots. The house could easily hold 2-3 groups of families/couples, but there was hardly ever room for 2-3 cars in front of the house. Since our group had one car it was not a big problem but could have been on the weekend nights when parking on Folly is difficult in general. Lastly, we had out two year old with us. The front door locks automatically when shut, aka no dead bolt on the inside. If I didn't have a wild toddler I would never think anything about this, but we quickly learned that with no way to lock the door from the inside, he would just let himself out CONSTANTLY, so he could not be out of our sight at any time. All of that to say, I would bring something to toddler proof the front door handle. Keep in mind, with those few minor negatives, we LOVED this house and will stay here again. Worth the money.

We had a great stay at this home. Appreciate the quick responses to questions and cleanliness of the home. Both the reservation and check-in processes were smooth and simple. It was a comfortable home close to town and the beach. We parked and didn't need to leave by car. Thank you for a relaxing stay!
