Great location and home.
Great central location. We even had deer hanging out in back yard.
Property was great modern appliances, clean, comfy beds, with plenty of games, Ping-Pong, bags, foosball, and a fire pit! Central location very close to downtown custer with short drives to Mt Rushmore, crazy horse and more!
The house is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. All the amenities necessary to make you feel at home. Clean, comfortable, and safe. We would like to stay again some day.
Property was clean with all the amenities. Walking distance to Custer, SD so location was awesome. Host was accommodating and our group of 9 adults was comfortable.
Property exceeded expectations. Enjoyed backyard BBQ pit and grill.
Our stay at the Blue Roof Bungalow was a perfect fit for our three-family vacation. It had just the right bedroom set up, a large kitchen and plenty of living and activity space for our eleven family members. We enjoyed playing ping pong and corn hole in the garage on rainy days. Watching the wildlife pass through the neighborhood and the back yard patio was an evening hit. The use of the Custer State Park pass was a bonus. Thanks to our hostess who was available and very helpful.
Wonderful location - host was available if needed but very through in descriptions and checking in and out. Spacious and was nice with two floors- place had spices and other things needed as well.
Would definitely recommend for anyone with a family of 5 or more.
Oh and the deer and wild turkey walking around the property was a plus as well.
The property was conveniently located to the Buffalo Round Up, the Volksmarch up the Crazy Horse Monument, and to other Black Hills sights. We enjoyed the quiet, comfortable, and clean property. We had an amazing weekend! Thank you!
Great centralized location for much to see in the Black Hills. Very well taken care of. Updated appliances, grill, fire pit, outdoor games and ping pong table in the garage ( super clean). The whole facility was very clean, two large modern bathrooms. Nicely layed out!
A Beautiful vacation home which was centrally located in Black Hills. The house was spotless with beautiful spaces inside. The home was very well set up to meet all our needs. The extras and the treats provided by the Host were fun! The brochures and welcome book of the nearby parks and memorials were so helpful. Thank you for Custer State Park Entrance tag! Deer and Wild Turkey walked by to say hello… we couldn’t have had a more wonderful experience. Thank you again!!
The house was great - even better than the pictures, super clean, and lots of thoughtful touches throughout. The double living rooms/dining rooms gives a big group a lot of space to spread out - and our kids loved having the basement to themselves.
We also loved the town of Custer and the location of the house in relation to town. The neighborhood is quaint and wooded, yet you are close enough to walk downtown for restaurants and shopping.
And of course, the Black Hills are gorgeous and there is so much for people who love the outdoors (like us) to do. Our family had the best time and we are so glad we came!
I am a pre-preplanner. I was worried about a few things, and the owners had no problem with me reaching out to them via Facebook Messenger. It took such a weight off my shoulders! My daughter was looking at pictures and noticed the table looked like it seated a lot less than the 8 members of our party. By the time we arrived, the table was set with plenty of chairs. We loved the fact that the bathrooms were located on both levels, and were stocked with free samples. Plenty of dishes, towels and bedding. The grandsons enjoyed having two floors to run around and play, especially as the weather was very cool and damp. However, if it had been warm, every closet had an electric fan for our use. We still found opportunities to walk around the neighborhood, and everyone was so friendly. My husband was thrilled to observe the deer sleeping in the yard and turkey across the road. This may not have been one of the fanciest homes we've ever stayed in, but it certainly felt like a home we could put our feet up and simply relax in. If we ever return to Custer, this will be the house for us...again!
This home was easy to find and near the highway, which was perfect in the Black Hills because we were off to all the beautiful sights each day. The location was great! We visited Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park, rode the 1880s Train at Hill City, rode horses at Hollingsworth Horses, visited Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore. All were all less than 3o minutes away. We also went to Hot Springs which was only about 40 minutes. We saw deer and turkeys often in the yard which was fun!
Much of the interior is new. The kitchen and bathrooms were gorgeous and clean. The appliances and most of the kitchenware seemed brand new and worked great. (We only missed a muffin tin and dishtowels, but dish soap and dishwasher detergent were provided.) My kids said the upstairs bunk beds were really comfy. All three could fit in one room since there was a bed to pull out from under the bunks. The kids also LOVED the game table in the lower level.
I'm not sure if the house has AC, but we were able to keep it a comfortable temperature by opening windows at night on the hotter days we were there. A pass to for Custer State Park was included for our use which was awesome! Overall, we were really happy with our stay and recommend it to others.
Staying at the Blue Roof Bungalow was a great experience! The property had everything we needed and accommodated 9 adults nicely. The location was conveniently close to Custer.
This house is well appointed and very large. Some of our group ended up not coming so we only had 4 people and we definitely had our own spaces. Kitchen has everything you will need. Very much enjoyed our stay!

We stayed here with 5 adults and 6 kids and it worked out great. Property manager was very responsive. Great location to see all the sights in and around Custer. Highly recommend.
The house was perfect for 2 families with kids. Well equipped kitchen and fabulous location for all activities. The “neighborhood” isn’t great but it didn’t bother us because we were either out and about or hanging out in the house!
Very spacious fully updated house. Kitchen was extremely well equipped with new appliances and cookware. Comfortable living room with large TV plus a second large family space downstairs with TV, microwave, mini-fridge. We were surprised & pleased to find Custer Park pass provided for us. Great Southern Black Hills location!
