Nice house, on a loud busy street and next door to a bar and close to a busy train track. I wish the host would have answered message questions directly but all I got were pre-written timed responses. Ended up being a good stay with my 18 month old, we enjoyed it.
Comfortable, clean, easy to find, had everything we needed. Couldn't enjoy the cute little back yard with hammock and hot tub due to rain, but it looked very nice. Bar right next door also looked fun (though didn't go inside, but the crowd was tame and everyone seemed to be having a good time--could see it from the little balcony). One thing for renters to note--there are two driveways and I was informed I should park in the one on the right. When I left during the day, someone else parked in that spot. Hosts said it was ok for me to park in the other spot, to the left of the house, but that one was taken. There was street parking available nearby so it wasn't a big deal, but be prepared to not have access to the parking space--our car was fine on the street overnight.
Very nice apartment on the upper floor of a two rental home with shared yard. It was not clear to me that it was upstairs when booking or I likely had taken the downstairs option which appeared vacant. Good comms and they allowed for a late checkout with advance notice.
We came down with our dog. We work a lot and needed a break. The place is cozy and comfy and the outdoor space is so lovely. Good mix of sunny space and shaded space. Our dog very much enjoyed the backyard and we loved the small businesses within walking distance
Great location very close to the Rondout where my children attended camp. Hosts gave great recommendations for local dining. We visited Village Grocery around the corner at least once each day for all our kitchen and snack needs, plus coffee. We also enjoyed local hiking. The rental feels close to everything. Back at the rental we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. It was a very peaceful, easy, and comfortable stay. The hosts were very attentive and great communicators. Thank you!
This sweet place was perfect! The space was charming and comfortable, the air conditioning made it a total respite on our humid 90 degree arrival day. The kitchen is pretty and well stocked, I had to bake a cake while I was there and the oven was *perfection*. The back yard is even more spacious and lovely than it appears in photos, and the little porch is the most delightful morning coffee spot. Seth was responsive and friendly he was super easy to communicate with when I had questions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The apartment was great. Loved the sound machine for my kids in the rooms. The moment I communicated to the host about the missing pack n play & high chair, he responded quickly & fixed the issue. We walked to some great breakfast places. We would come back!
We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The unit was clean and comfortable. As others may have mentioned, there is some noise from the nearby train track and bars, but that didn’t bother us much. We really appreciated the noise cancelling machine that was provided. One suggestion for improvement would be to make it explicit to guests that the backyard (incl. grill & hot tub) are shared between the upstairs and downstairs units. As guests in the upstairs unit, it felt awkward to hang out in the backyard, and clearer communication would make it so everyone feels equally welcome to enjoy those amenities.
This home provided everything we needed for our weekend trip. The property was great for our dogs, the backyard is rocks and pavement which I appreciated because it kept the dogs paws clean! We cooked in both nights and the kitchen provided everything we needed to do so. Beds were very comfortable and house was overall very tidy and clean.
Excellent location for visiting towns along the Hudson. Upstairs unit spacious and comfortable. Three adults and two dogs had plenty of space. Lovely balcony for morning coffee. Hot tub and fire pit spaced apart allowing both unit occupants to enjoy the yard privately. Seth amazing to interact with and immediate responses with any questions.
Decent rental with good amenities. Could be closer to some areas of town with more stuff to do if you care about that. The biggest problem was that it's close to a train track and trains went by very frequently, and they were both loud and they shook the entire house every time. You get used to it, but if you are a light sleeper or have a small kids, it might be a concern.
We have a nice stay in Kingston! The apartment had everything we needed for four adults and our two dogs. The bathroom was clean and well stocked, the beds were comfortable and we were able to hang out in the living room and play games. The couch in the living room was very hard and it was hard to really get comfortable there, though it was fine to sit upright and play games! The location was close enough to everything we wanted to see, but not quite walkable so we ended up driving around quite a bit. Parking was easy on the highway driveway and on the street. Overall it was a fine stay in Kingston!
Seth and Louis have a beautiful little apartment, everything looks brand new! It was spotless & comfortable, it has everything you would need for a weekend away (or longer!). The back yard is so well maintained, I love the gravel yard with the string lights, and the hot tub was perfect for an evening soak. The communication was effortless, they’re incredibly responsive for any need. I will say, while it didn’t take away from our time and is no fault of their own, there is a train track quite close that runs day and night. So if you’re looking for perfectly quiet neighborhood, this might not be the spot for you. They still get 5 stars because what they can control was fantastic.
Overall we had a pleasant stay in Kingston, the apartment is pretty centrally located, and we were easily able to drive anywhere we needed to explore. We did have a few issues though.
Pros:
- General location (Kingston) was great, easy access to walking/hiking trails, and plenty of other towns along the Hudson within an hour drive.
- The pet friendly, fenced in back yard was amazing in the snow! We were able to hang out in the hot tub while our dog ran around the yard, definitely the highlight of the property.
- Definitely subjective, but to me the mattresses were PERFECT.
Cons:
- Insulation from both cold and noise was the main complaint we had. It wasn't hard to hear conversations or music from the downstairs apartment, and there is a train very close by (went through many times per day during our stay) which we could hear and feel in the upstairs unit. There was also a noticable draft from the windows which kept the place a little chilly.
- The fan/overhead light in the bedroom kept acting up, randomly turning on/off. We couldn't for the life of us figure out what the issue was.
- It seemed like an honest mistake, but when we arrived the unit was not cleaned from the previous guests. The hosts were very quick to respond and get their cleaning service to the apartment, but it wasn't the best first impression.
Overall we enjoyed our time in Kingston, and this is definitely a good place to stay if you have pets. Probably not great for light sleepers though
Though we did not walk in our area , it seemed pretty safe in a mixed neighborhoods. Everything was really close and we totally enjoyed our stay! Clean , comfortable and close to everything! Thanks Seth and Louis
We had a great stay in Kingston in this apartment. It was super clean and spacious. The furniture was new and modern too. We stayed on our way up to Hunter Mountain and made the journey the next morning so easy. Kingston and the area has plenty of bars and restaurants on offer too.
There is a train line that runs nearby that could be heard from the living space, but we didn't hear it from the bedrooms and there's white noise machines if that's your thing - although we didn't need it. There's only one parking space so we had to coordinate leaving with the downstairs neighbor as we had an early start. Otherwise it was a great stay.
