The Farmhouse - Boothbay Harbor

New to VRBO.

Situated at the entrance of downtown Boothbay Harbor, The Farmhouse boasts beauty of a New England style 3-story home located right off the main strip.

The first floor has two cozy sitting rooms that are perfect for gathering in groups, watching television. One of the sittings rooms has a queen murphy bed that can be dropped down for an extra place to sleep or for anyone who has difficulty going up and down stairs. There is a door between the two sitting rooms that you can close for privacy. Additionally, there is a newly-added kitchen and butlers pantry, a dining area, a full bath with shower, and, my favorite, a sunroom. The sunroom is perfect for sipping your morning coffee as the first light starts to shine through or great for using as a dedicated workspace. Pro tip: it’s also great for relaxing or curling up and reading a good book!

Once you make your way up to the second floor, on the right hand side you’ll find a full bath (with shower) stocked with towels and all the essentials (yes, ladies - that includes blow dryers!). Near the bathroom is a game room that has a futon, television with Apple TV, sink and mini fridge. There are two additional rooms on this floor. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a king bed - both are equipped with televisions with Apple TV and cable via the Spectrum app. Both have blankets and linens provided.

The third floor has a set of steep stairs but takes you into a room with 2 twin beds. There is also a mini fridge and full bath (with shower) so you don’t have to walk down the stairs at night for a glass of water or to use the restroom. This room has 4 skylights that provide amazing light and beams that give it a cozy feel. Blankets and linens provided.

This is a great place to stay. It was perfect for us because my wife has mobility issues and the ramp and downstairs bed allowed a comfortable stay. Convenient location, plenty of parking. The host was a jewel. Very responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend.

Great fall weekend in Boothbay!

We loved the convenience of this property- we didn’t have to drive at all for 3 days. Loved the restaurants, brewery, shopping, boat rides!

Boothbay wedding weekend

We stayed at this house for a wedding weekend that we were attending! The location is absolutely perfect within a 10 min walk to everything you could possible need. Less than a 10 min drive to the botanical gardens which are highly recommended! First off this house was amazing with every little detail. Each room had an air conditioner considering it was surprisingly hot during our September stay that was great made it comfortable! Each bathroom fully stocked with towels and rags and shampoo conditioner and blow dryer! I’m usually the one to super pack for a rental home as most don’t come with anything anymore but this house had extra trash bags paper towels toilet paper litterally anything you could think of it was there! Extra linens and blankets in every little area it was amazing! The upstairs not only had two nice sized bedrooms but the other lounge room had a tv that my son hooked his game system up and enjoyed with a sink and mini fridge and a pull out sofa which was perfect for him because he’s only 9 and still pretty small so he fit pretty well on that. There’s a bedroom bathroom on third floor attic are which was very large with two twin beds. The down stairs living room was comfy and tv was perfect for my husband who wanted to enjoy Sunday football. Overall this house had everything we needed and more it was just perfect Ps. Highly recommend mine oyster!

Couldn’t be happier!

Everything about this experience has been amazing. The property, location, check in was flawless. That being said what we were most impressed with was our lovely host Julianna. Great communication and we genuinely felt welcomed to her lovely home. The little extras go a long for us. Extra items we didn’t need to buy and things we didn’t know we needed were all there for us. Thanks again Julianna for making our first trip to Boothbay harbor a splendid one and we look forward to next year.

Amazing!

Everything about this stay was amazing! Jules is the most attentive host - we were armed with so many recommendations from the time of booking. Really helped us plan our family visit. The house! What can I say? You won't believe it! It is so spacious and beautiful. The location - also amazing. We walked everywhere! The only thing that wasn't amazing about this wonderful home was that we didn't book it long enough! Next time, we will stay much longer. THANK YOU for your care as a host in all the details!

Comfortable and convenient

This property met our needs extremely well. Well appointed with tasteful, comfortable furnishings. If you like to walk everything you might need or want is at your footsteps. Perfect for our multigenerational family. No downsides except located between two rather busy streets with traffic noise. So if that is not a concern for you then PERFECT !

This property was fantastic! The rooms were spacious as were the bathrooms. The living space was also perfect for our family of 6. The stairs are steep - know that, but it was worth it! Jules was amazing at communication! The location is perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and exploration of Boothbay Harbor. We all agree that we definitely recommend!

Most Amazing House

We were overblown by the amenities in this house...she's really thoughtfully thought of everything from makeup towels to beach towels! More space than we imagined from the pictures, the attention to every detail, the "newness" feeling in an old house makes you feel like you've stepped back in time but with all the modern conveniences. Easy walk to everything in Boothbay. Great communication. I would move here if I could!

Perfect spot for our girls' getaway

This home exceeded our expectations. A group of girlfriends stayed for a getaway to visit Monhegan Island and Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and just spend some time relaxing together. This VRBO is even nicer than the pictures show. We loved that we could walk almost everywhere. We walked to dinner each evening (Boathouse Bistro was by far our favorite restaurant!) and we could walk to the ferry to Monhegan. The house had plenty of room for us to spread out (the three bathrooms was a bonus). We didn't really cook meals, but we could have. The beds were comfortable, and the home was clean & inviting. Jules was almost immediate in communication. Would absolutely stay again if in the area and would recommend without reservation. If you are visiting Boothbay Harbor, do not miss taking the ferry to Monhegan for a day trip and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens - absolute gems in the state of Maine!

Charming updated farmhouse within walking distance to Boothbay Harbor

This was a wonderful place to rent for a quick weekend getaway to see Garden Aglow with a group of 7 adults. We found the interior to be exactly as described and pictured on VRBO. The interior is spacious with 3 floors. First floor is main living area along with a large kitchen and butler pantry . Full bathroom off hall leading toward sunroom. Murphy bed is also on this floor in a pretty white cabinet when not in use. Second floor has 2 bedrooms that were the king and queen and very large bathroom . Rooms designed well for actual use. Third floor does have some steeper stairs but added handrail available plus has a small full bathroom so don’t have to go and down stairs in night. We had plenty of space to socialize or if someone wanted some quite space the game room on second floor worked perfect. There is a small fridge in game room and in 3rd floor bedroom which I thought were nice added touches especially if renting for a week. Layout of all the rooms felt purposeful, welcoming and comfortable. Job well done. Jules was fantastic with communication and recommendations . Binder in kitchen with local information. I am going to list 2 things a future renter may want to know. The upstairs twins are really more suitable for kids or shorter stature adults. Our group is tall. I am 5’8 and slept in one with my feet touching footboard. Manageable for 2 nights. There is also some road noise as you are right in downtown but on the flip side you are “right in downtown”. Huge benefit for summer as would not have to worry about trying to find a parking spot as explore that area. Highly recommend and would definitely rebook. Steph

Could not have been more lovely!

Our family loved the farmhouse! The home was charming and perfectly appointed. The stylish and thoughtful details truly make it feel like a home. Most importantly, the character has been preserved, and while staying there, we truly felt like we lived in Boothbay. The location was fantastic - we walked to the harbor for shopping, dining, sailing, and more. The kids played monopoly in the game room each night. We enjoyed a family movie night in the living room. There was so much great space to spread out! Boothbay was a fantastic oasis to explore what life in a harbor-side Maine town might feel like, and we loved it. Jules goes the EXTRA mile to ensure we had a great experience. It felt more like we were staying in an inn than a rental property. Her recommendations were excellent. We really appreciate her environmentally motivated decisions to reduce waste. Having the shower supplies was fantastic! I will absolutely recommend Boothbay to anyone looking for a magical location to enjoy Maine in the fall and insist they stay at the Farmhouse.

I'm Jules. I moved to Boothbay Harbor, ME from Los Angeles, CA at the beginning of the pandemic. I was trying to escape my corporate job when I stayed at a local B&B and decided that this is what I wanted to do. Traveler at heart, I wanted to be able to cultivate an experience for like-minded individuals and families to be able to experience the same feelings I did when exploring a new place. Fast forward, I bought my first home - a duplex. Watched a YouTube video and renovated the whole place myself all winter 2021. The top half has 3 floors of coziness for you to enjoy and I reside in the additional unit. Here for any tips and recommendations for those wanting to experience a real local trip. I hope that you feel at home here, at The Farmhouse BBH.

When searching for a home, I kept passing by this one and there was always something about it. After debating if I should schedule an appointment to view, I finally did and instantly fell in love. It was an old 1800s home that was taken care of and had such character. I was honestly sold on the ORIGINAL, natural hardwood floors the first time I walked in. I had such a vision of what this place could be. I had a vision of what this place could mean to those who came to visit the area and that's how I knew.

The house is located in the heart of downtown just situated at the entrance and exit of the Harbor loop. It's perfect because its a stones throw and walking distance to the shops and restaurants but just far enough away that you're not right in the madness of it all.
